"So whose party is this", I asked as Ash, Lala and I were getting ready. "I don't know", Ash said. "So we are gate crashing?", I asked. "You can't really gate crash a college party", Lala said. "Yeah, it's an open invite to the world”, Ash said. “Besides, this party might have all these hot guys you keep telling us about”, Lala said.

“Daniel won’t be there though, he’s at work right now”, I said. “Hmm, keeping track of your man”, Ash said. “You know he works the night shifts”, I said with an eye roll. “Oh yeah, right, well at least you got to spend time with him yesterday”, Ash said. “Oh yeah, a whole few minutes, yay me”, I said sarcastically. “I hope hot Ong is at the party”, Lala said, “I’m curious to put a face behind this sweet boy we have been hearing about.

“I hope the wizard is there”, Ash said. “Wizard?”, Lala asked. “Yes the one from the book store”, Ash said. “Sungwoon”, I said. “Yes yes Sungwoon, a guy who quotes harry potter and looks good”, Ash sighed. “You don’t even know how he looks”, I said. “Well I am choosing to trust your judgement”, Ash said.

“Hey, what’s wrong?”, Lala asked, “Why the sad face?”. I didn’t realize I was making a face until she said something. “I don’t know, all I can think about right now, is how much I want Daniel to be at this party”, I said, “And I don’t even know why. He blew off speaking to me yesterday”.“Tris, you can’t expect the boy to open up to a girl he knows all of 5 minutes”, Lala said. “I know, I know, I just feel stupid that I did”, I said. “You did it because he made you feel like you could”, Lala said and I shrugged.

Why was I so drawn to Daniel? Did I just want to see that gorgeous face or hear that husky voice again? It didn’t feel that way to me. It seemed liked I wanted to see him because I missed him. But how could I miss a guy I didn’t even know? “Well, maybe he will drop by after work”, Lala said. “Yeah, maybe”, I said doubtfully. “Let’s go”, Ash said excitedly.

Since campus begun, I had only attended one party. This was going to be my second. Parties were never really my thing; even in high school. But after the week I had, I decided I need to go out more. No way, was I staying in the dorm, when the campus was filled with hot guys, who probably attended these parties.

“What?”, I asked, when Lala had said something. We had entered the dorm where the party was being held and I could barely hear my own thoughts through the music. “I can’t hear you”, I yelled when she repeated herself. Lala pulled out her phone and typed, ‘Wow, it’s really loud in here… Do you see the hotties anywhere?'. I looked around the room and shook my head. I recognised a few faces from class and bookstore customers, but no hot guys in sight. I grabbed Lala’s phone and typed, ‘Maybe I imagined everything’. Lala laughed and nodded.

What if I did imagine it? I know Sungwoon is real because Daniel spoke to him too and Daniel must be real because Jihyo hired him. But, what about Seongwoo? No one has even seen me with him. Did he not eat the muffin because an imaginary person is incapable of eating? Did he not have my number because I didn’t actually put it into a real cell phone? Could I have just been talking to myself in the two instances I met him? Did I just make up an entire person? Wow, I must be lonelier than I thought…

I grabbed Ash and pointed at a guy across the room. She gestured a ‘what about him?’ with her head. I did the ‘swish and flick’ with my hand and she knew I meant that was the wizard. Ash looked at him again and smiled at me. Lala gestured she was thirsty, so we made our way over to the drinks table. It was a bit quieter here, away from the loud speakers. “Who even pays for all this alcohol?”, I asked. “Fraternities are always loaded”, Ash said. “Maybe we should have joined a sorority”, Lala said making Ash and I laugh. We were far from sorority girls.

I reached for a clean cup and another hand grabbed onto it. “We really need to stop meeting like this you know”, Seongwoo said with his hand on my cup.  Oh my god, he is real, I am not crazy. “You really need to stop taking my things”, I said. “I can’t help it”, Seongwoo said,
