Chapter 50 - Chilled Orange Juice

As we went in my car, he started crying.

“Thank you hyung..” He said as he tried to hush himself.

“No problem. Uhm, I’ll drive you home.”

“Hyung, you we’re really brave there. I was so afraid that I might get killed that instant. I didn’t want to leave my mom yet.” He said as I was driving.

How lucky. At least he still have something worth living for.

“How did you manage to beat him up, hyung? Did you have Taekwondo classes?”

“Uhh, Yeah. His moves were pretty obvious. So it wasn’t that hard.”

“Sungjong? Why don’t you go serve your friend some snacks before he leaves?” Sungjong’s mother asked him and he obediently walked away. It’d been an hour since we came here and his mom is very welcoming that I don’t even want to go home anymore.

When I entered this house, she welcomed me with a warm smile. A smile that is so comforting. Maybe that’s how it feels when a mom is expecting you to be home.

“I feel really glad that Sungjong has gained a friend in this school year, Myungsoo.” She said.

“Hmm?” I asked, confused.

“Oh. He’s shy and the only friends that he got are Jooyeon and Amber. I’m sure you’ve met them, right?”

“Uh. Yes.” I smiled awkwardly. What? Shy? How can he be shy? He was so outspoken and gutsy earlier. He even talked to me first.

“I understand you are shy but I want to make yourself home here, Myungsoo.”

I’m not shy. I just don’t talk a lot.

“Anyway, I just want to tell you. You look like someone I know.” She laughed awkwardly. My eyes widened.

Sungjong came in with a tray of chilled orange juice and milk cookies. He gave me a glass and his mother.

“Thank you but I have to go.” I said as I placed the glass on the table. I just received a text message from Sungyeol, looking for me.

“Oh. Now?” Sungjong pouted. I smiled and patted his head.

“See you tomorrow at school.” I said and bid goodbye to both of them.

“Take care.” His mom waved goodbye.
