Chapter 13 – Distracted

Next morning..

I entered Jungryul’s office, clutching the folder in my hand. I closed the door behind me and sat on the couch, across his table. After a few seconds, Sungyeol went in.

“So Sungyeol, what did Mr. Uy say?”

Sungyeol placed the folder on his table.

“He signed the papers and is ready to give you the funds anytime. He also said that he’s expanding his area in Bangkok and he’s on the process of distributing in Melbourne. ”

Jungryul grinned, pleased.

“Very well, you Myungsoo? Anything from Mr. Kubayashi?”

I was in deep thoughts of Sue Ji and into planning about our next meeting that I haven’t realized that Jungryul is calling me. I was smiling by myself when suddenly Jungryul growled.

“MYUNGSOO! DAMN IT!”

I blinked twice and stood up. I completely forgot about him being short-tempered and was alarmed by his voice for the first time. I am completely distracted. I placed the folder on his table.

“Bull! What is wrong with you?!” He yapped while Sungyeol is curiously looking at me.

“Uh. Mr. Kubayashi is investing twice and he wants to distribute in New York and San Francisco. He said he’s interested in the partnership you’re planning with the other businessmen. We wants to be in it.”

He calmed by hearing his proposal’s success and yet mentioned me being distracted from anything.

“Are you sick?”

“No sir. Just tired.”

He nodded knowingly before he dismissed us both.

“What’s up?” Sungyeol nudged me as we both headed to the entertainment room.

“N-nothing.”

“You’re pretty weird these days, y’know. Where have you been going?”

“What? What are you thinking?” I answered as we both entered the fully air-conditioned room and we both slumped ourselves on the comfy foam that covered the room’s floor area.

“Is there something I need to know?” He asked me nosily.

I never kept a secret from him but this one’s tough. We are strictly prohibited from having any attachments from the outside and if I mention it here, I might be busted.

“No. Just stressed.”

I took a cushion and buried my head on it. I heard Sungyeol turned the television on and I, on the other hand let my heavy eyelids be dropped and soon enough, I let myself be in slumberland.
