Chapter 12- Killjoy

I spotted her on the couch after I change clothes, watching television. I sat beside her.

“Sue Ji”

“Yeah?” Her gentle voice replied.

“I’m sorry.”

“Sorry?” She said, not facing me still. I grabbed the remote control from her and clicked the television off. She faced me, finally.

“I’m so sorry.” I said again.

She sighed.

“No. It was my fault. I started it and this matter doesn’t need to be issued upon. I was just overreacting. I’m sorry, Myung. I’m ashamed and—“

“Don’t be. It was just an accident.” I cut her off as I offered a warm smile.

She smiled back but I know she’s forcibly doing it. I pinched her cheeks and pulled it apart gently.

“C’mon. Let’s stop being awkward, okay?” She smiled back, bringing me relief.

The familiar sound of irritation came up again. My damn phone.

“Yoboseyo?”

“Where are you?”

“Going back.Wae?”

“Make it fast. Some of Minwoo’s men tracked you in Japan.” Sungyeol said.

“I need to be back now?”

“Yes. By this minute. Go.”

Augh. What in the world. Seesh. He hung up and I dashed off inside.

“Sue Ji?”

She looked away from the television.

“I need to go again, I’m sorry.”

She pouted making her look cute and all that.

“Okay..” She weakly said. I walked up to her and ruffled her hair. She smiled.

“Take care..” She gave me a quick hug and my heart went loud again. “I had fun, Myungsoo.”

“Me too. See you later”
