The Emotional Roller Coaster I Call Life With Super Junior

Uki’s POV~

The moment we made it into the dorm, Teukie headed off to his room, a melancholy look on his face. Did he say something to me in the car? Ehh. I slipped my boots off, hanged my beanie on the coat rack, and didn’t even make it to my room before I just crashed on the couch and immediately passed out.

Ahh, beautiful sleep. Oh, how I’ve missed you.

~~~~
Siwon’s POV~
I woke up early the next morning, dreading to go back to the dorms. I just know Leeteuk and Donghae got into WWIII last night, I just know it. Ugh, Uki! Sometimes, I think it’d just be easier on all of us if you were just some average girl with no extra talents. But nooooo, you just had to take after me, didn’t you? Oh, Uki~
I looked at myself in the mirror and raked a hand through my hair lazily, not even bothering to make myself look anything special. No schedules meant no dress up! My cell rang from somewhere in the depths of my room, and as I made my way from the bathroom, I picked it up a second before it was too late.
“Yeboseyo?” I greeted.
“Siwon, I think Uki’s sick,” said a voice.
“Heechul? Is that you?”
“Yeah,” Heechul responded. “Anyway, I woke up this morning to see that she’d passed out on the couch. Her skin is burning to the touch.”
“Oh jeez. I’ll be there as soon as I can. Can you wake her up to see if she’s eaten anything?”
“Sure thing. Hurry.”
Then he hung up. When did Heechul become sucha nice person? He was usually that guy we could all count on to be the tough one that never said anything to the rest of us. I shook my head and quickly threw on a T-shirt and some jeans, heading downstairs and hailing for a cab. Luckily, one stopped for me and was quick about making it to the dorm. After paying him—$20.86 for a cab ride a couple blocks away?! Yah!—I made my way inside to see Heechul putting a cold cloth on Uki’s forehead. Uki was still asleep, though.
“Is she okay?” I asked, walking up and placing the back of my hand against Uki’s cheek. Whoa. Heechul wasn’t over exaggerating. Her skin was scorched!
“I’m not sure,” Heechul responded, taking the cloth and wringing it in a bowl then placing it back on her head. “She wouldn’t wake up when I tried shaking her. She’s out like a light.”
I shook my head. “This always happens. Every year! If her stay exceeds two months, we can count on her being sick. She worries about us too much!”
“Can you blame her?” Heechul asked, pulling the thin blanket up to her chin. “We kinda give her a lot to worry about. We act like little children who don’t know right from wrong every time she comes on her visits. We know how to take care of ourselves, otherwise we’d all have died of starvation by now.”
I let out a sigh. “I know. Even I’m guilty of it.”
“Get Alex to do some stuff. I’m sure she’s been feeling left out ever since Uki’s made her way here,” Heechul said, turning away from me and gathering the bowl full of water and medicine off the ground.
My brows shot up in shock. “What did you just say?”
He looked at me, rolled his eyes, and scoffed. “Oh please. You honestly thought I’d believe that Alex was a boy?”
I gave him a suspicious look. “When did you find out?”
He thought for a second. “Honestly? Two days ago. I was in the bathroom when I came across a bra that was most definitely not Uki’s, and the only other culprit was Alex.”
I let out a sigh and shook my head. “Aish. She needs to be more careful about where she leaves her things.”
Heechul let out a laugh. “So it’s true then?”
“Huh? I thought you knew!”
“I did,” Heechul responded, “just now, when you told me.” He winked at me, an evil grin on his face.
I let out a huffy breath. “You’re evil, hyung.”
“Yeah, I know.” Heechul walked away with his bowl and medicine, leaving me with a sleeping Uki.
Aish. When did that guy get so smart? Maybe China has magical effects on people. I shrugged my shoulders and stooped down to observe Uki. She seemed paler than normal, which was weird since she was already so freaking white to begin with. I removed the already warmed cloth from her forehead and placed the back of my hand on her head to take her temperature. I shook my head. She’s burning up fast. I sighed as I regretted what I was about to do.
I shook her shoulder slightly, robbing her once again of her well-deserved sleep. “Uki. Uki, wake up.”
She slightly grumbled at me, waving me off with her hand and turning so her back was facing me. I sighed again.
“Yah, Uki, wake up,” I said, shaking her again. “I’m sorry for stealing your sleep again, but if you’re sick, we needa make sure now so it won’t become serious later.”
She groaned in annoyance and slowly sat up, running her hand through her hair. She stretched and yawned for a second before turning to look at me with her sleepy, half-opened eyes. Her lips curled in annoyance. “Oppa, I’m tired.
“Yeah, I know, but you’re burning up,” I said, feeling her arms. Yeah, her temperature was definitely rising. “Do you feel sick?”
She shrugged her shoulders. “Kinda. But it’s nothing I can’t handle. You guys shouldn’t be pulling focus from work just to tend to me. I can just take my medicine and sleep it off. It always works that way.”
“All of us are free today actually, so we’re all gonna be good oppas and take care of our little dongsaeng.”
I kissed her on the cheek, causing her to scrunch her face and give me a smile. “Yah, Siwon, I’m not a little girl anymore,” she said with a laugh, wiping off her cheek. “I can take care of myself.”
I let out a sigh. “No matter how old you think you are, you’re still only a teenager, Uki. Don’t ever forget that. You grew up way too fast, not even being able to thoroughly enjoy your childhood.”
She smiled sadly. “Sometimes I regret that. But then I think about how it all led up to this point in my life and it makes it all worth it.” She stood up slowly and pinched the bridge of her nose. “Ugh. Stupid headaches.”
As she began shuffling away, I called after her, “Wait a minute, where are you going?”
“I’m sleeping with Donghae. His bed is way more comfortable,” she responded, heading toward the rooms.
“Yah! Are you crazy?! You’re not going anywhere near Donghae while there’s a bed involved!” I scolded.
“Oppa, don’t worry! I’m kicking him out first, duh,” she said, still heading toward the room. “And quit yelling. It’s not really helping this whole headache ordeal.”
I sighed and rushed around the couch after her, but before I reached her, Donghae opened the door, startling her. She gave a slight “Oh!” before running into him. He caught her elbows and looked at her face with concern.
“Are you okay? You don’t look so good,” he said.
She laughed a little. “Uhm, yeah, I’m fine. I just need sleep. Do you mind if I crash in your room for now? Your bed’s way more comfortable than mine.”
He laughed at her and said, “Yeah, go for it. Ignore the mess. I was in the process of tidying up.”
She walked in and looked around, her nose scrunched in disgust. “Aish, you’re just so messy. Remind me to clean this for you later.”
“No,” he said, taking her face in his hands.
I looked the other way. I felt like an intruder on my baby sister’s moment.
AWKWARD!~
“You do too much for us already,” Donghae continued, “so no more. No more cooking, no more cleaning, no more schedule keeping, got it? You have your health to think about here.”
“But—”
“I don’t wanna hear it,” Donghae interrupted.
Uhm, maybe I should just walk away now.
I turned and walked to the kitchen to help Heechul with whatever it was he was scheming up. I’m sure Donghae was grateful for it.
Donghae’s POV~
Finally! Siwon was gone! How awkward to have her older brother standing right over my shoulder. I looked at Uki and smiled. She was just too cute!
“Donghae, you can let go of my face now,” she said, with a laugh, reaching her hands to grab mine off, but I quickly leaned in for a kiss, causing her to just stand there, holding my hands. Once I pulled away, she said, “Yah, you’re gonna get sick, Donghae!”
I laughed at her and kissed her on the cheek. “I don’t care. Come here, I have something to ask you.” I pulled her into the room and shut the door so no one would have a chance to interrupt me like last night.
Leeteuk.
-__-
She sat down on the edge of the bed and looked at me. I got down on one knee in front of her. She gave me a skeptical and suspicious look. I laughed.
“Don’t worry, it’s not what you think,” I said, laughing at her. I took one of her hands in both of mine and looked her in the eyes. “Uki, I know that we’ve had our rough past. I know that I did a lot of things that I wish I could take back. I know that I hurt you. I know that you probably went through a time where you hated me. I know all of that is true. But I want you to know something. Despite the idiot I was back then, I never once stopped loving you. I never once stopped thinking about you. Even though I kept telling myself that I would forget about you, that I’d never go back and make the same mistake of hurting you twice, that I should just completely forget about you, it just couldn’t be done. You’re too amazing of a girl to just let go like that. And, after all these years, after all the mistakes and the pain and the heartache and the make ups, I’m here to ask for a second chance. Uki Seohae Choi, will you go out with me?”
She just looked at me for a second, then a huge, genuine smile formed on her lips as she said, “Aiden Lee, you are one of the cheesiest romanticists I’ve ever met in my life. And after that sweet apology and everything, how can I not say yes?”
“So…That’s a yes?” I asked, a hopeful smile spreading on my lips.
She just smiled wider and hugged me around the neck. After pulling back, she placed both hands on my face and pulled me into a quick kiss. “Yes!”
I laughed and hugged her around the waist, twirling her like you’d see in one of those cheesy romantic movies. But I couldn’t help it! She finally said yes without any interruptions! As I put her down, I just smiled at her.
“I suppose I should let you sleep now,” I said, giving her a sheepish smile.
“Sleep?! Are you kidding me?! I can’t sleep now, not right after an amazing guy like you just asked me out all over again,” she said with a smile.
“Aish, this girl. If Siwon comes in here finding out that I kept you from sleeping and making you even more sick, I’m gonna die.”
She just smiled at me and sighed. “I suppose.”
I kissed her on the cheek and turned to leave, saying, “I’ll bring you some medicine a little later, ‘kay?”
“M’kayy,” she responded with a starry smile on her face.
Then as I opened the door, I turned and ran into Leeteuk.
Oh.
“Um, hey, hyung,” I greeted awkwardly, making sure the door was shut behind me.
He gave me a suspicious look. “Was Uki in there?”
Again with Uki.
Stay away from her!
“Um, yeah,” I responded, “she’s sick, so she said she wanted to sleep in my room ‘cause my bed’s more comfortable than hers.”
“Aww, poor Uki,” he said with a sigh.
“I personally think she’s sick ‘cause she’s been losing so much sleep lately,” I responded coolly.
Leeteuk’s brows shot up. “What are you implying, Donghae? That’s she’s sick because of me?
“No, no, she’s sick because of all of us. But don’t think I’m gonna forget what you did yesterday so easily, hyung. I can’t believe that you of all people would…” I swallowed hard and closed my eyes to calm down, reminding myself that Uki was just beyond the door, probably listening to every word being said. “If Uki weren’t able to hear us, I’d tell you what I truly think right now.”
“Oh, no, please do tell me, because I don’t wanna have any hidden feelings between us! You really think I’m trying to steal her away from you?! Do you honestly think I have nothing better to do with my life than to just sit here and plan out how I’m gonna keep Uki away from you?!”
“Well judging from your actions last night, yeah, I do think that!”
“Would you guys stop?!” someone hissed at us angrily.
We turned to see Heechul and Siwon standing there, glaring at us.
“If Uki wakes up, I’m killing both of you,” Siwon threatened.
I let out a huffy breath. “It’s whatever at this point. Never would have thought that my own hyung would have pulled a stunt like this.”
At this point, the whole house started emerging from their rooms to see what was going on. Siwon, knowing a fight was about to happen, literally dragged me to the living room, away from my bedroom door. It was probably for the best. I didn’t want Uki hearing any of this.
“Donghae, you sure are empty-headed if you honestly think that I’m trying to steal her from you. I came here to apologize, and you completely started an argument instead!” Leeteuk yelled.
I noticed that Eunhyuk, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, Shindong, Henry, and Hangeng were standing on either side of him wearily, waiting just in case he decided to jump. Siwon, Heechul, Sungmin, Zhou Mi, and Yesung were on my side, however. Alex was just kind of the mediator, an annoyed and exhausted expression on her face.
“It’s not my fault that you completely stole my chance from me yesterday!” I continued heatedly. “What am I supposed to think after that?!”
“That maybe I wanted to keep her from falling for the lying, cheating, idiot of a jerk who hurt her last time again?! You say that you’ve changed and you say that you won’t hurt her, but who’s to determine that?! You’ve hurt her once before with a girl who came right back and pulled the same crap with you! Who’s to say that you won’t do it again?!” Leeteuk shouted back.
I lunged at him, but Siwon and Heechul were quicker, grabbing me by the shoulders and pinning my arms behind my back.
“YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN US! DON’T YOU DARE TALK AS IF YOU KNOW!” I screamed at him, struggling to break their grasps on me.
“ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! WHO DO YOU THINK SHE CALLED RIGHT AFTER THAT, PRACTICALLY IN TEARS?! SHE WAS CRYING SO HARD, I COULDN’T EVEN MAKE OUT WHAT SHE WAS SAYING TO ME!” Leeteuk responded angrily, also jumping at me. It was Kyuhyun and Hangeng who quickly grabbed him and pinned his arms behind his back, making him struggle to get them to let him free. “LET ME GO! I’M GONNA TEACH THAT LITTLE PUNK A LESSON ABOUT TALKING TO HIS HYUNG LIKE THAT!”
“YAH, THAT IS ENOUGH!” Alex yelled, stepping in between us and covering her ears in irritation. She removed her hands and glared at both of us. “She’s not even worth fighting over! Sure, she’s a great girl and all, but do you guys ever really look at her?! Do you ever notice just how unhappy she is staying here?! Of course not, because you’re all too busy being idiots fighting over her and using her instead of spending time with her and showing her that you actually appreciate her! Not once have I heard any of you sit down and tell her thank you for all she’s done and now she’s gotten so sick she can’t even get out of bed and you’re here in the living room arguing over who’s tryna steal who away from who! You’re both being immature and insolent little children, and I don’t think that Uki would like the way either of you are acting right now!”
The room was quiet as I stared at Alex, her cheeks heated in anger, her chest rising and falling rapidly after her scolding. She was right. I’d been sitting here telling everyone not to take Uki for granted, and what am I doing right now? Sitting here arguing over her like she’s some sort of property I can just simply own. Then we heard a little stifled cry. We all turned to see Uki standing there, a scared look on her face, looking as if she was about to cry.
“Uki—”
“I-I have to leave,” she said softly, tears already evident in her words. “Saying yes to you was a mistake, Donghae. I never would have done it if I knew it was going to tear you all apart like this.”
“Uki, you’re not at fault here,” Alex defended.
Uki shook her head, her face twisting in a mask of pain and sadness. “I never should have stayed here as long as I had. I should have left when I had the chance.”
She quickly walked toward the front door, but Siwon let go of me and stopped her. “Uki, you can’t do this.”
She was crying at this point, shaking him off and leaving through the front door. Siwon glared at me and Leeteuk and sighed angrily, letting us know we were definitely gonna get it a little later. Not even ten minutes into asking her out and I’ve already effed up.
Eff.
