Day Spent With My Dear Fish?~

The Emotional Roller Coaster I Call Life With Super Junior

“Donghaaaaaaaaaeeeeee~” I sang down the hallway, pulling my purse onto my shoulder.

More than one figure turned around to look at me and more than one jaw dropped. Whoa. I did not expect an audience.

“Siwon, I thought you said you guys were leaving?” I asked.

Siwon blinked a couple times. “Where are you guys planning to go again?”

I placed one hand on my hip and furrowed my brows at him. “Don’t avoid my question.”

He sighed. “Fine, fine. Radio show got canceled ‘cause Mr. Leeteuk over here decided he just didn’t wanna do it.”

“Aye! Mind who you’re talking to!” Leeteuk said indignantly. “And it’s not because I just simply didn’t wanna do it. Nobody else wanted to do it either. We all know that none of us like that radio jockey, so what’s the point of sitting through an hour long interview with the stupid guy?”

I raised my eyebrows in surprise and smiled at Leeteuk. “Teukie, I never realized how passionate you can be about something.” I winked at him and walked to the kitchen. All the guys [Kyuhyun, Yesung, and Eunhyuk] were wolf whistling at Leeteuk.

“Yah! She’s my little sister!” Siwon yelled over them.

Someone came tripping into the kitchen. I turned from the glass of orange juice I was pouring for myself.

“Um…Hello there, Donghae. You okay?” I asked, an eyebrow raised in question, as I was putting the orange juice back into the fridge.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” he said in between breaths.

I smiled at him. “So. Are you ready for today?”

He smiled back up at me. “Definitely. Oh…And you look beautiful by the way.”

I looked down at myself. Really? All I was wearing were a pair of white, a little higher than mid-thigh, cargo-style shorts, an exotic-print, flowy shirt with a black belt cinching my waist, and a simple Buddha necklace—yes, I’m a Buddhist despite my family being an insane Protestant family. And my makeup was nothing to fawn over. Just a light coat of blush, eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss. My hair, on the other hand, I will brag about. It looked great today! My bangs cooperated with me and my hair stayed in loose curls for once. It was voluminous and just looked great(:

“Thanks,” I said, smiling at him. “You don’t look too shabby yourself, either, Mr. Aiden Lee.”

I took in what he was wearing for the first time. Simple jeans and a white T-shirt underneath an open, checkered pink and white dress shirt. Oh, and did I mention that his hair looked fantastic?<3 I laughed for a second.

“Did somebody lose a bet with Sungmin?” I asked sarcastically.

His face fell, playing along. “Sadly.”

I busted out laughing at this point. “Oh my goodness! Sungmin should have just made you wear a full out pink shirt!”

“Shh! Don’t give him any ideas!”

“I heard thaaaat,” called a sing-song voice, “and I’ve decided that on your next date with Uki, you’re gonna wear this!

Sungmin came into the doorway, holding up a pink shirt with the words ‘A REAL MAN WEARS PINK’ in black block letters. Donghae placed his hand on his face.

“Aish. Sungmin, if I wear that, I don’t think Uki would wanna be seen in public with me!” Donghae complained.

I smiled and the bottom of the shirt. “Aww, but Donghae, I likee it. It’s cute.”

“Exactly. ‘Cute.’ I only go for the hot image.”

“In what world?” I asked.

Sungmin busted out laughing and threw the shirt at Donghae’s head. “I better see you in it next time~”

Then he trotted off. He was such a strange child. But I loved him<3

I laughed as Donghae groaned and took the shirt of his head.

“What exactly was this bet?” I asked him.

“I bet him that we wouldn’t ever talk again while you were here. And he bet that we would. And, well, he obviously won.”

“Why would you think that we wouldn’t talk?”

“Well, you made your feelings quite clear to me that day I tried asking for forgiveness,” he said pointedly.

“That was then. Why must you dwell in the past?” I asked, waving my hand dismissively in his face. I downed my orange juice then left him there to ponder that and went to grab my gold gladiators by the door.

“Uki, where are you guys heading to today?” Siwon asked me. Turns out, Super Junior are just regular guys. They were immersed in some shooting game since I last left them for my glass of orange juice.

“I think we might go out to eat. I don’t know. I’m starving at the moment,” I said, a ponderous look upon my face. “I’m not so sure. I suppose I’ll let Donghae decide that.”

“Oh yeah, let the guy decide what you guys will be doing. ‘Cause that’s the smartest choice in the world,” he muttered.

“What was that?” I asked, standing up and zipping my shoes.

“Oh, nothing~”

“Donghae, come on!” I whined, stamping my foot on the ground.

“I’m sorry,” he said, coming into view. Then he rubbed his stomach. “Let’s get something to eat.”

Siwon grabbed Donghae’s shoulder lightly and pointed a finger in his face. “Listen, buddy. You take care of my baby sister, got it? If she comes back with so much as a scratch on her, I’m holding you personally responsible.”

Donghae almost went cross-eyed from staring at Siwon’s finger. I grabbed Donghae’s hand and pulled him from Siwon’s grasp.

“Yah, leave my fishie alone, oppa,” I said, opening the door, “and you won’t have to worry about Donghae misbehaving. Worry more about me misbehaving.”

I gave him an evil smile and a sly wink as I shut the door, with him yelling, “Uki!~”

~~~~
“Yah! Why’d you have to say that for? Now Siwon’s probably gonna kill me,” Donghae said over his glass of water.
I smiled at him. “Oh don’t worry too much about him. He’s just a bully half the time.”
“A bully that’s three times my size.”
“Pfsht. It’s all for looks. Siwon would never hurt a fly.”
“Um, he’s one of the youngest ever to hold the title of fourth ranking black belt in Korea. I’m pretty sure that he could probably snap me like a twig,” Donghae said pointedly.
I smiled at him. “Oh, don’t worry. I’ll make sure that my oppa won’t lay a hand on you.”
“If you say so,” he muttered.
“What would you like t—Oh my goodness, you’re Donghae! Fr-from Super Junior!” the waitress squealed in excitement.
My eyes widened in disbelief. WHY would she do that?
“Shh!” Donghae said quickly, waving his hands at her. He pulled his hoodie down even more to cover his face and shrank in the booth.
“Oh, right,” the girl said, her voice dropping to a whisper, “sorry.”
“I-it’s okay,” Donghae responded, opening up the menu and hiding half his face.
I looked up at her, my eyebrow raised in annoyance, and cleared my throat. She tore her gaze away from Donghae and looked at me with the starry eyes she had for Donghae.
“If you don’t mind, I’d like to order,” I said, an annoyed, sarcastic smile on my face.
“Oh, right, ma’am, right. I’m sorry.” She took out her pad of paper from a pocket of her apron and had her pen at the ready.
“Can I please get a large bowl of pho? Everything in it except for any seafood or tripe, and make sure the meat is cooked. No pink meat whatsoever,” I said crisply. I don’t know why, but I just did not like this girl.
“Yes, unnie,” she responded.
I gave her an unbelievable look. Unnie?! I am obviously younger than she is. Donghae gave me a warning glance and I signaled with my eyes, my look plainly saying “she started it!”
“And you, o-oppa?” she stuttered, turning back to Donghae, a smile just about breaking her face.
“Um, just get me the same thing as Uki,” he muttered, closing his menu.
“Okay. I’ll be right back with that order.”
Then she walked away.
“I don’t like her,” I said the instant she walked away from the table.
“You don’t like anybody,” Donghae replied with a laugh.
I pouted at him. “Yeah, but I especially don’t like her.”
“Why? Because she’s a fan? Or because she’s my fan?” he asked with a little smug smirk.
I gave him an “are you kidding me?” glance but all he did was smile.
“I wouldn’t care whose fan she was, I just don’t like her,” I responded.
He gave me a deep sigh and just shook his head. “I’m not even gonna bother.”
“Good,” I replied. I rested my elbows on the table and rested my chin on my interlinked fingers.
“So tell me,” Donghae said, a thoughtful look upon his face.
“Tell you what?” I responded.
“Do you like Leeteuk?” I must have looked taken aback because the next thing that he said was, “I mean, you have known him your entire life, and he does like you.”
“Whaa?”
“Uki, don’t be oblivious. I mean, just one look at the way he looks at you and you automatically can tell that he’s fallen head over heels for you.”
“Donghae, Leeteuk is ten years older than I am. Yes, I’ve known him my entire life, but that just makes him seem more like an older brother to me than anything else. I’ll admit, when I was younger, I had a MAD crush on the guy, but that was only because he was around Siwon so much. I’ve grown outta that phase. Besides. I hear he has a girlfriend anyhow,” I explained matter-of-factly.
“Teukie? Park Jung-su? OUR Leeteuk?”
“Yes…?”
“…” He paused and thought for a second. Then he says, “You really needa stop believing everything you read online or in the magazines ‘cause they’re not always true.”
“Oh please. I saw the interview with him and Siwon in Australia. By the way he avoided that question about being in a relationship, he so has a girlfriend.”
“Uki, the only reason why he responded like that was because he was confused by the English!” I blinked a couple times at him and I guess a smile had somehow involuntarily crept on my face because the next thing he says to me is, “So I guess by the way you’re smiling it’s true then.”
I noticed his face fell, which caused me to be confused. “What’s true?”
“It’s pretty obvious,” he replied.
“Well obviously not because I have no clue what you’re talking about.”
He sighed. “Oh nothing~”
I sighed in return and broke my chopsticks as that annoying waitress came back with our bowls of steaming pho.
