It was the time period where majority of the univerisity graduates were now getting job offers. Meg and Woohyun were simply one of the many who were receiving love calls from various companies with job offers. After carefully making decisions and weeding out the ones that didn't appeal to them much, they finally made their decisions. Woohyun decided to work at a finance company just a few cities away, which meant that he would be able to stay home. Meg, however, decided to take a risk and take the job offer she received from a big company in Busan, which was a good few hours away from Seoul. Although she got a few good job offers nearby, the one in Busan was too good to turn down because of the good pay and the benefits it offered. It was the one that also interested her the most, so after a few weeks of thinking she finally decided to go with it.
She knew it would be tough living so far away from home. She had all of her friends and family in Seoul, so living so far away from them would definitely be something she would have to get used to. Even though she could simply send them a message or video call them whenever she missed them, she knew it wouldn't be the same. However, they all knew that this was a big opportunity for her, and it would be best for her to take it.
There was one person that was particularly devastated upon hearing the news. It was her friend Woohyun. The two had known each other since high school and even went to the same university. They were considerably close. Meg was always thankful to have someone like Woohyun by her side because it was so easily and fun to talk to him. He was very caring, but he also joked around with her by teasing her often. She hated to admit that her everyday life would feel so empty without him.
After meeting up one last time with her friends and spending time with her family, it was finally time for Meg to leave for Busan. Although a lot of her friends and family wanted to send her off, she assured them that she would be fine. She wasn't leaving the country or anything, so she would be able to manage on her own.
However, Woohyun decided to ignore her and come to drop her off anyways.
"I told you not to come!" Meg said while struggling to carry all her luggage.
Woohyun chuckled. "And leave you to carry all this alone? It's fine." He took her suitcases and duffel bags easily, leaving her with a simple backpack.
She smiled gratefully and continued to walk alongside him as they made their way to the boarding area.
Just as always, it was so easy to talk to him. They were talking and laughing so easily, and Meg couldn't help but think of how much she would miss this.
Woohyun, on the other side, was dreading approaching the train. He never admitted it, but the way he felt towards Meg wasn't simply platonic. He had a little crush on her since their high school days, but he just preferred to keep it low this entire time. However, he couldn't help but worry. What if she makes a bunch of friends and forgets about it? Considering it was Meg, he knew that her cheerful, outgoing personality would attract new friends to her like a magnet. He knew that that would be the best for her, but he couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealously. He was even worried that she would meet a good looking, smart, rich guy and completely lose a competition that he barely got started on.
He couldn't help but realize how much his feelings for her grew over the past few years. At first, he didn't mind keeping their friendship the way it is because he enjoyed being with her. However, over time, he noticed how much he wanted to be with her, even though they spend a decent amount of time together. He would foolishly hope that he would find her alone in a cafe, like the way she would be during their university days. He would find himself at night laying in bed. The appearance of her long, straight brown hair framing her pretty face would pop up in his mind constantly throughout the day. He also kept this to himself, but the home screen wallpaper on his phone was even a picture of the two posing for a selca at the university library during midterm season.
Woohyun wondered if she ever realized that he view her more than just as a friend. Whenever he let out a compliment that sometimes sounded a little too like a confession, he felt
