Lee Jihye was walking in the hallways, chattering with her friends, when she noticed a very familiar figure. With his hands in his pockets and his hair styled up to reveal his forehead, he was the epitome of a cool student that all the girls secretly had a crush on. As she was walking by him, she did the unexpected. Just a quick eye contact with him was the only thing she did to acknowledge his presence. This exchange was also missed by everyone around her. She then refocused onto the conversation she was having with her friends as they walked to their class.
During lunch, Jihye's friends excitedly talked about confession day*, which happened to be on the seventeenth of September.
"Are you going to confess to anyone today?" Haneul asked.
"Of course! I've been waiting to confess to Joshua since school started!" Eunji excitedly replied.
The girls turned their attention to their third party. "How about you, Jihye? Is there any guy you want to confess to?"
Yes, she thought. "No," she said. "No one really catches my eye at school."
Eunji pouted. "Awh, that's a bummer! Confession Day is the perfect day to confess, especially because you can have your 100th day on Christmas! How romantic!"
"And that will be you and Joshua~" Haneul sang in a teasing voice.
Eunji turned bright red. "Hey! I bet you were planning to confess to Mingyu!"
It was Haneul's turn to blush, and she remained silent.
"There has to be one person in Seventeen that you find attractive!" Haneul said to Jihye, referring to the thirteen popular boys at their school. They were known for their good looks, high grades, and talent.
Of course there is, she thought. She shook her head, however. "Nope. None of them."
"How about Woozi? He's cute! Or S.Coups? He's so nice. Or Dokyeom! He's so manly!" Eunji said, attempting to list all the members of Seventeen to find one person that her friend considers attractive.
The bell interrupted their conversation, but it failed to interrupt the thoughts running through Jihye's head.
Should I confess to him?
The school day passed at a rather slow pace, but finally the last bell rang. Jihye said a quick bye to her friends before left the school. She waited at the bus stop for a few minutes before she got on the bus. She sat near the back where it was close to the door. She then noticed that the familiar figure she saw at school got on the bus as well. However, again, she decided to not make any interactions with him. Not yet.
After passing a couple blocks, the bus finally arrived at her stop. There were no more students on the bus, except for Jihye and him. Jihye thanked the bus driver like usual before getting off. She then heard him get off as well.
Immediately, she felt pressure on her neck. "Hey, best friend."
Jihye struggled to get his arm off of her neck, but he was too strong for her. Of course. She gave up and gave him a pout. "Hi, Dokyeom."
Dokyeom flashed a smile, which was rare to see at school. In fact, it was never seen.
"Ready for work?" he said as he loosened his hold on her neck.
Jihye removed his arm completely off of her. "Of course I am."
"Then what are we waiting for?" Dokyeom gently pushed Jihye into the store entrance.
