After telling her to dress in something comfy, yet a bit formal, Jonghyun picked her up in his car and drove off. He took her to a quiet rooftop restaurant that he borrowed for the night. He wanted today to be special, but also didn't want to attract too much attention from others. He always preferred to spend time with her without drawing the attention of strangers passing by. After eating a fancy meal with some wine, the two leaned against the railing to watch the pretty night lights of the city. The air was crisp and refreshing, and both enjoyed this relaxing moment away from their busy lives. Discreetly, he reached inside his pocket.

Seconds before the moment, his mind flashed back to all the memories he made with her.

He remembered the first time he saw her.

At the beginning of his homeroom period, his homeroom teacher announced the arrival of a new student. In walked a cheerful girl that was at an average height. The slight blush on her cheeks made it evident that she was also a bit shy. She was a transfer student joining his grade in their second year of high school, which meant that she didn't really know anyone at this school. However, all the students in his homeroom class couldn't help but take a liking to her. With her cute smile that was paired with a shy blush, she radiated a warm aura that everyone appreciated. During her introduction, Jonghyun nonchalantly glanced over at her, but once his eyes landed on her, he couldn't take them off of her. His eyes followed her as she walked away from the front of the class towards her given seat, which happened to be two rows in front of him. He couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed that the teacher didn't give her the empty seat besides him. But when the teacher paired them up for a big project later that year, he couldn't have been more ready to take this chance to get to know the new girl.

It was the first semester of their third and final year of high school. After getting close to each other from the long hours they spent together working on the big project the year before, they soon became inseparatable. Luckily, even their own friend groups got along, and the group of five girls (including herself) eventually merged with the three guys that Jonghyun knew since elementary school. Now that even their own friend groups were now united, they were always stuck together like glue. Something about his caring, yet slightly teasing personality meshed well with her timid, yet cheerful nature. Jonghyun was the typical tsundere that the girls wanted in a boyfriend, while she was the sweet, selfless girl that the guys all admired.

There was an unspoken bond between the two, but they only became official after an unexpected confession slipped out of her lips. She indirectly told him that she liked him, and that instantly brought an immense amount of embarrassment to this shy girl. She automatically brought her hands up to cover her entire face, which was glowing a bright red. She wanted to disappear at that exact moment, but of course she didn't get what she hoped for. He stared at her embarrassed self a bit with a soft chuckle. When he realized that this was his chance, his face also matched hers in reddness. Jonghyun reached out and grabbed both her wrists in each hand and brought them away from her face, while not releasing his grip on them (he was slightly afraid that she would run away before he could finish what he wanted to say). With a loving chuckle and a blushing face, Jonghyun told her that he liked her... a lot. After her eyes widened in surprise, he slowly released his grip from her wrists, but let one of his hands clasp hers. He asked her to be his girlfriend, and she said yes. And that's when their love story began.

It was now the second semester of their last year of high school. They had finally finished their exams, and now they were filled with this indescribable feeling of freedom. With only a few weeks left until their graduation, the group of nine decided to go on a trip to Jeju island, where one of the guys had a rich relative who owned a large house there. The trip lasted for four days and three nights, and most of it consisted of all day food trips (where they would go from one eatery to the next, constantly eating up their fill), long hikes to discover beautiful scenic locations (where the girls would force the guys to have little photoshoot sessions), to long night walks to look at the night scene.

As usual, the couple was inseparatable during this trip as well. Being the cheerful and unexpected talker that she was, Jonghyun absolutely adored hearing her talking.
