Your eyes fell upon the shadow of the person at the door and you couldn’t believe what you were seeing. There stood the one and only Ichinose Yukiko – your best friend.

Jung Kook saw her too and all the annoyance he had felt earlier disappeared. He was happy to see her – actually, she was happy for you because you were happy to see her.

Your happiness meant everything to him.

“What are you doing here?” you exclaimed, surprised, as you ran up to her, embracing her in a big, warm hug, “When did you arrive? I didn’t expect you so soon!”

“This was all supposed to be a surprise, but then I got a text from Jin that you had disappeared, so I got here as soon as I could!”

Yuki took your hands into hers and then glanced over at Jung Kook – her worried expression dissipating while a knowing look took place.

Like V, she immediately understood what had happened.

“Well, I’m glad you’re here,” you smiled, “Me and Jung Kook both.”

Both? She couldn't help but try and suppress a soft laugh.

Yuki glanced over at Jung Kook, “I don’t think the feelings mutual over there!”

Your blinked at her a couple of times before looking over at the poor BTS maknae, “It’s not?”

Just because you had realized that you had feelings for Jung Kook, it didn't make you any less dense then you were before.

“…Of course it’s mutual,” Jung Kook tried to give the two of you a cheerful smile, but it turned out more sarcastic than he wanted.

Then, he got up and told the two of you that he was going to go down with the rest of the guys, so you two could talk in private.

The two of you thanked for him showing at least some consideration before he left, disappointed that he couldn’t get out what he wanted to say.

At least, you weren’t going to keep your distance anymore.

That was what mattered.

“Did Reita come with you?” you asked, tilting your head to the side, “I miss him too. How’s his music and his band coming along?”

You hoped he had found himself in a more successful position than before – showing that the lessons he had in Korea helped and as did you.

She paused and then replied, “Hm, I guess they’ve gotten a lot popular now – to be completely honest, I don’t pay attention to his popularity that much. I just know he’s been really busy because he’s never home to eat.”

You gently poked her in the forehead, “Yah, what kind of sister are you?”

Though your words were a bit harsh, your tone was playful, teasing. You couldn’t hide the smile that forced its way onto your facial expressions.

“The best kind?” Yuki smiled, shrugging lightly, “As long as I’m the best kind of friend, I think that’s all that matters!”

You couldn’t help but laugh at her response.

She had definitely gotten a lot more outgoing and relaxed in the year she was gone. Her attitude had gotten more positive – it was clear that it did.

“You know I was going to host a surprise party for you?” Yuki began, a bit disappointed, “I was supposed to have been the surprise because you weren’t supposed to know I was back.”

Her lips formed a small pout since it was something she really wanted to do for you. The last time the two of you were together, things were always under the weather.

First, you had the Fan Club to deal with.

Then, you had the fight with Hyuna’s dad.

Finally, you and Jung Kook had called it quits.

Not to mention, Jin and her had kept in touch and he kept her updated. That was why she even knew about the lyric war you had with Jung Kook through the songs of B.A.P and BTS.

Now looking back, she had realized that everything went wrong back then. This surprise party was supposed to be her chance to help lift everyone’s spirits.

Now, you suddenly felt guilty.

“We can still have the party, you know?” you ruffled her hair as a form of comfort, “I’ll help. Even if it’s not really a surprise, it’ll still do the trick – it’ll make everyone happy.”

Yuki glanced at you with her big round eyes, “You think?”

“I know so.”
