Anonymous Friend (친구) - Advice Column

Anonymous: Ok, so in school, I have this really y teacher. She teaches terribly and I can't understand a thing. I asked my counseler to move me to a different class but they won't let me. I'm really getting frustrated because I can't learn in that class and I already got an F in it. What should I do?

Friend: Dear Anonymous,

There are both bad and good teacher’s in the world and you just happened to get unlucky and get one of the bad ones. But fear not! The school year is far from over and you can definitely bring your grade up from that miserable F >:D I can totally relate to you because this year I’m stuck with two bad teachers myself OTL. So here’s the same piece of advice I’ll give you that I gave myself:

First thing you want to do is find out if the teacher’s do any type of tutoring. Since your counselor won’t allow you to switch out of the class, then you’ll have to try your best and work with what you’ve got. Sometimes it’s easier to grasp the material if you’re having a one-on-one session. It allows you to ask specific questions that can be answered and will let you get a clear picture of what the heck this person was talking about earlier. If they do any sort of after school tutoring; take it. Even if you already know the material, go to the sessions and make sure you understand everything 100% so that when a pop quiz or a test will come up, you’ll ace it ;]

If your teacher doesn’t do anything like that, try to see if your school does a tutoring program or anything of the sort. My school has this program in which the students of National Honor Society help out any students in the mornings. It’s like a tutoring session but with students(:

If you don’t’ have any of the above options, then it’s time to move onto Plan C which is to ask your friends. Whether they are upper classmen or friends that actually understand his class, ask them for help(: I’m sure that as your friends, they will be more than willing to explain some things and give you a few pointers(:

This advice column is amazing. ^^; You've helped me more than twice in here actually. >//< There are so many situations that I've come across and mine is almost the exact and your advice has helped so much.
