EXO-K - Suho

Kpop One Shots

Eunhye hurried towards the subway station that morning, knowing perfectly well that if she missed the next train then she’d be late into Seoul. A sigh escaped through her gritted teeth as she held onto her hat as the wind swirled around her tiny body. The last thing she wanted was for her hat to be blown away, it had been a gift from Suho. Her husband. Her husband of five days to be exact, the thought making her smile goofily. She couldn’t quite believe that five days had passed since that wonderful day. Thoughts of her marriage now played around her mind, distracting her from finding out which platform she needed to rush to in order to catch the train.

“So you finally decided to show up, eh?” The playful voice of Eunhye’s childhood friend, Jisoo, could be heard from across the other side of the café and when looked over to see where she was seated, she spotted a tall figure waving madly at her. Eunhye slipped through the crowd of businessmen and women, early-morning shoppers and coffee-addicts until she reached the space Jisoo had saved for her.  Letting out a sigh of relief, she fell back into the chair, happily accepting the mug of steaming hot chocolate which Jisoo offered to her. “Busy day?” her friend queried, knowing perfectly well that the newly-wed was often rushing around from place to day. Eunhye nodded in response and took a sip of the drink, smiling contently and munching one of the mini marshmallows. “Suho insisted on waking up early so he could finish building the kitchen units.” Eunhye admitted with a chuckle.

“You’re still finishing that?” Jisoo asked, her heavily made-up eyes widening slightly as she took a sip of her coffee. “I’m sure your apartment is going to look fabulous when it’s finished though. You’ve both put so much hard work and effort into it, even before you were married.” Eunhye sighed, nodding slowly. It was true; she and Suho had purchased the apartment six or seven months previous and ever since, they’d both been working hard on regenerating it considering it was in such a state when they’d bought it. Their vision? To create their own perfect home where they could spend the rest , or as much as they could, of their lives together. So far, they’d reconstructed the master bedroom, living room and several other small rooms and the kitchen was the final touch. “I really want to see it when it’s done, you know. I’m sure everyone does.” Jisoo stated when an idea suddenly popped into Eunhye’s head.

The clock struck 3PM when Eunhye finally arrived back home, a smile gracing her lips when her husband was there to greet her at the door. His clothes were stained with paint, some even colouring his hair, but she didn’t mind and hugged him anyway. “You seem pleased with yourself.” she giggled as she peered up at the taller male, noticing the wide grin plastered across his face. “You’d better see for yourself.” Suho chuckled, taking his wife’s hand and escorting her to the kitchen. He gestured to the door and stepped back so that she could walk in first. “You finally finished it!” Eunhye squealed when she stepped inside, the neatly-painted sideboards and cupboards shining around her. It may not seem like much but this was always how she’d pictured her own kitchen, even better now that she had someone to share it with. “It’s perfect, baby.” the female whispered, scampering over to her husband and wrapping her arms around him.

Once they’d both finished admiring Suho’s handwork, he quickly raced upstairs so he could change out of his paint-splattered clothes and into something more comfortable. Eunhye decided she would do the same and when they’d both changed, they settled down on the sofa, Eunhye nestled in Suho’s arms, her head resting against his chest. The TV hummed quietly in the background, the music channel playing ever so quietly. “How was your date with Jisoo then?” Suho asked, twirling Eunhye’s messy locks between his fingers. Eunhye shrugged a little. “Nothing out of the ordinary. We shopped and drank coffee. Oh, but she did give me an idea though.” Suho arched an eyebrow, ideas from Jisoo usually weren’t the most practical. “Really?”

Eunhye nodded. “Yeah. We should arrange a house-warming party. We can invite my family and your family. Our friends as well. Everyone can see what we’ve turned this place into.” She couldn’t help but smile as she glanced up at Suho, the glittering of the fairy lights above their sofa catching her eye. She wasn’t quite sure how Suho felt about this idea but when he eventually smiled, she knew he was happy with it. “Sounds like fun, baby. We should start planning tomorrow. I want everyone to see my impressive DIY skills.” A smirk played across his lips and he planted a gentle kiss on his wife’s forehead.

The next day, the pair didn’t hesitate in preparing their party which they hoped would be a success. Neither of them had planned a party before. “What decorations do you think we’ll need?” Suho queried as he sat on the sofa, flicking through a catalogue, his eyes darting across the pages in the search of anything they might need. “Maybe we could have a disco ball.” Eunhye suggested, wandering over to the sofa, mugs of coffee in hand, before she plonked herself down beside him. She pointed to a page in the book. “Like that one.” She giggled. “Your friends like dancing, right?” Suho nodded, scribbling down the idea of a disco ball in a notepad beside him. “We could have a chocolate fountain too. Everyone likes chocolate, right?” Eunhye couldn’t help but giggle and soon enough Suho joined in. They spent the entirety of their afternoon coming up with other ideas, some ideal for a party and some, like the mention of a waterslide, completely unpractical for a house-warming party.

Later that evening, Eunhye and Suho were still engrossed in planning their party. It was almost addictive, you could say, seeing the brightly-coloured pictures in the catalogue and scrawling down an array of ideas and items that they might need. “What colours balloons shall we have?” Eunhye asked, briefly looking away from her laptop screen and over at Suho who was far too absorbed in his notes to hear her. “Hey- I said what colour should the balloons be!” Eunhye giggled as she threw a ball of scrap paper at her husband’s head, directly hitting him. “Huh-“ Suho looked up. “Oh,balloons. How about white?” Eunhye shook her head. “That’ll clash with the white walls. Too much white, baby. How about black?” Suho scoffed. “It’s not a funeral. We need something a little less like death.” He poked his tongue out at her, laughing to himself. “How about silver?”

“Yes! Silver balloons and black and white streamers to go with them. Suho you’re a genius!” Eunhye gave her husband a thumbs up and blew him a kiss which he gladly received. She scribbled something down in the notepad before slamming it shut. “And that’s the final thing. Everything else is planned.” she announced, grinning broadly. Now all they had to do was prepare the house.

“Suho can you pass me the pins please?” Eunhye asked on the day of the party as she teetered dangerously on the edge of a chair in an attempt to pin the balloons on the walls and the streamers on the ceiling. “Let me do that” Suho huffed, gently scooping up Eunhye in his arms and carrying her down from the chair. He rested her on the sofa before climbing the chair himself and pinning the bundles of balloons and paper to the wall. Eunhye watched him happily, directing him to the ideal places. “There we go.” She sighed contently as the last bundle was fixed to the wall and Suho made his way down from the chair safely. “The living room looks great, baby.” she hummed before skipping into the kitchen where the chocolate fountain was busy churning away. Eunhye grinned and grabbed a marshmallow which she plunged into the smooth chocolate. “Want some?” She held the sticky marshmallow out to Suho and when he was close enough to almost bite, she moved it up and smeared the sweet chocolate all over his nose. “Such a messy pup.” the female giggled, poking his cheek playfully.

But then suddenly the doorbell rang. Eunhye eyed her husband from head to toe.

“You’d better get cleaned up really quickly.” she giggled.
