It was quick. It came without notice.

Yuri found herself hanging on to life.

Literally.

She looked down, eyes widening at the 200 foot drop.

She takes a deep breath, eyes look skyward, catching a glimpse of her pallid hands desperately clinging to life.

Then, a face appeared past the metal bar she was clutching. A grin, too familiar, came into her view.

“Vous êtes pétrifié?” The person regarding her, asked.

Yuri glared at the stranger, “No. I am not afraid to die.” Her eyes glowed crimson and with inhuman strength, she pulled herself up from the railing, eyes burning with hate. “I’m going to kill you, Jessica,” her voice was filled with venom.

The figure was unfazed, “Try me, Yuri.”

Yuri pushed herself past the railing, grabbing onto Jessica’s overcoat. She pushed her away with great force, but Jessica merely stepped back, eyes glimmering with amusement.

“You are going to die, Yuri.” Jessica had barely said her words when she lunged at Yuri, landing a hand against Yuri’s chest.

Yuri’s heartbeat rattled before stopping. The last thing Yuri saw before death welcomed her was Jessica’s grinning face as Yuri fell off the bridge.

Then, water swallowed her body and cold settled in. Everything went dark afterwards.
