Snowball
From the Old and Torn Portfolio
A snowball had hit the back of her head. She turned, glaring at the culprit who stood with a pleasant smile a few paces behind her.
“Yo!” Greeted the offender in a casual manner, one that hoped to mask the mischievous deed.
The offended picked up the white stuff on the ground, curling it into a ball with her gloved hands before throwing it to the other person with a force of a baseball. It hit the taller girl square on the chest, but she didn’t seem to mind the throwback.
“Good shot.” Sooyoung complimented as she walked over to her short friend.
“Thanks, but now my bonnet’s all wet.” The shortie complained.
Sooyoung removed the head covering, revealing long tresses to flow freely down her friend’s back. She stuffed it into one of her jacket pockets, leaving her friend bewildered.
“Yah! Give that back!” Her friend complained, but it didn’t faze the taller person. She simply shrugged and playfully pushed her friend away.
The pushing escalated into a snowball fight that ran the entire block, much to the other passerby’s chagrin, but the two troublemakers weren’t affected. They were too engrossed in their snowball fight to even remember the simple cause of it.
“Idiot! Now we’re all soaked!” The short one grumbled.
Sooyoung laughed heartily at her friend’s remark, which soon infected her buddy with mirth. The two laughed as they headed for Sooyoung’s walk-up to celebrate the season together.
The two girls had cleaned themselves up before settling on the foyer with snacks
