Rainbow - Sweet Dreams

The day that you didn't want to come has finally came. Everyone arrived early for school, to get ready for the play.

You were inside the costume room, checking the costumes to see if there were any faults on it that are needed to be fixed up. You were checking the Snow White costume and slowly you stopped searching for any rips and blankly stared at it.

"You miss playing Snow White?". You looked up and saw Jungmi smirking at you from the doorway. You slowly shook your head, "No. I quit the play so why would I miss playing that role" you looked away.

Jungmi smiled, "Well I don't care if you missed it but don't get jealous when I'm kissing L" she has an amused smile on.

You gripped onto the costume tightly, but then you remembered the kiss between you and L last night and your expression softened. Jungmi waved her hands, "Have fun watching me kiss him" she then walked off. You stared at the empty doorway but you didn't feel angry anymore. [I don't care, I got to kiss L last night]. You closed your eyes and softly squealed at the thought.

"Someone seem excited". You opened your eyes to see Woohyun at the doorway. "Woohyun" you smiled at him. He walked towards you, "Why were you squealing before?" he imitated your actions. You slapped his arm, "I wasn't like that" you pouted.

Woohyun laughed, "Of course you weren't like that. When you did it, it was more cuter" he winked at you. You scoffed and turned around to continue checking the clothing. Woohyun looked closely at you and saw the way you looked. He smiled to himself and had a serene expression. [Her expression seems happy but her eyes.. they look sad and disappointed].

You saw someone staring at you in the corner of your eyes. You looked up and saw Woohyun staring at you. "What are you staring at?" you gave him a weird look. He smiled, "Can't I look at you? I mean there isn't a rule against staring at people" he winked. You slowly shook your head, "This guy.. Aren't you going to practice for the play?" you asked.

He shook his head, "I already know my lined plus I want to stay here with you".

You slowly nodded and went back to doing your own thing.

Out on stage, everyone was running around trying to figure everything out. The teacher was busy talking to the actors and telling them what they are expected. Jungmi kept staring at L and wasn't paying attention to the teacher. [I can't believe I'm going to kiss this guy in just a few more hours]. She secretly smiled and continued to stare at L's handsome face.

After talking to the teacher, everyone started rehearsing for the play and Heejin was placed in the curtain pulling role. She rolled her eyes every time Jungmi was on stage.

Inside the costume room you heard the others performing and you looked up to see Woohyun still in the room looking around. "Aren't you suppose to be out on stage? I think they're rehearsing right now" you said.

He turned around, looked at you and listened closely to what was happening outside. "It's not my turn though" he said. You sighed and stood up, "You should be out there. The teacher will think that you ditched rehearsals" you pushed him towards the door. "But I don't want to leave you alone" he protested. You crossed your arms and pointed to the door, "Go now!!" you demanded. He smiled, "If you call me oppa then I'll go" he smirked.

You opened your mouth in an 'O' shape and frowned. "I don't want to. Go now!!" you said and walked back to where you were before. Woohyun pouted, "Well then I'm staying here if you're not calling me oppa" he wined. You angrily sighed and turned around to see his pouting face. You couldn't help but giggle at his childishness. "Fine. Go Woohyun.." you paused and eyed him. "Oppa" you muttered.

"I didn't hear that~" he sang. You crossed your arms frustratingly, "Can you please go Woohyun oppa" you said with a monotone. Woohyun smiled in satisfaction and walked away happily. You poke your tongue out at the doorway and turned back to continue your work.

"Everyone please take your seat" the teacher announced to the audience. All of the students parents and friends were sitting down. Soomin and Mina were sitting near the back but they could perfectly see what was happening. Your parents were near them and they wouldn't wait to see the play though they knew you weren't going to be Snow White, they still came to support you and the play.

You were backstage, helping everyone in their costume. You helped Infinite and Jaesung in their dwarf outfits. "Yah stay still" you told Sungjong as you fixed his collar. He squirmed at your touch, "It feels uncomfortable" he wined. You shook your head, "Well put up with it" you said and continued to fix his collar.

After finishing with the dwarf outfits, they all walked out of the costume room and you cleared up your area before heading out there yourself to help Heejin pull the curtains. You packed away your sewing kit and placed them underneath the table.

"Aren't you going out?". You looked around and saw L standing near the clothing rake, looking at the other costumes. You could feel your heart beating fast just by looking at him. [I can't help but remember the kiss when I see him]. He turned his head to look at you but you quickly turned away to avoid his gaze. "I was heading out there now" you started walking to the door and didn't look at him.

"You seem fine with everything" he said. You stopped walking, "What do you mean?" still not turning around. He walked up closer to you, "I thought you would ask for your role back by now" he looked away, waiting for you to answer.

You turned to look at him, "Why would I want to ask for the role back when I asked to quit in the first place? I wouldn't want to do that to Jungmi.. she's excited for the play" you looked down at the floor with sad eyes.

L examined your expression, "By the looks of it, you don't seem happy". You looked up at him, "I am happy. That I don't get to kiss you" you accidentally blurted out the last part. You covered your mouth realizing what you just said and turned around to avoid his stare.

"What do you mean? I thought you wanted to kiss me? Oh right, since I already did that last night" he tapped his chin, "I understand" he had a small smile and walked past you. He stopped at the doorway and turned around, "To be honest, I like practicing with you more than Jungmi. It's not that I like you or anything it's just that you're different than her" with that he walked off.

You stared at the empty doorway. [Did he just say that he liked practicing with me more than Jungmi?]. You clasped your hands together and spun around, happily. You giggled to yourself and stepped out of the room, smiling widely.

"Now I would like to announce that the play will be staring in just a few minutes" the teacher announced to that audience and went backstage to where everyone was. "Okay, everyone do your best and break a leg" she said to the students and walked back on stage.

You saw L standing at the front next to Jungmi and your heart fell but Jungmi was happily talking to him. L caught you staring and looked your way. For some reason you wanted to look away but this time you couldn't You wanted to tell him not to do the play but it was too late, the teacher announced the play and be broke the staring contest. He walked to his position and stood there.

"~~~~~, it's time for the curtain pulling" Heejin whispered in your ears. You nodded and walked over to where L was standing and slowly pulled the curtains.

The curtains opened and the crowed clapped. Jungmi was on stage and started to act out her lines.

For the whole time, you weren't paying attention to her but mouthed our the lines. You looked over at L who wasn't paying attention to her either but looking into the script book. Woohyun went out on stage and acted out his scene. He caught you behind the curtains and smiled at you, but saw you staring at someone else. [I wonder who she's staring at]. He almost lost his concentration and continued on with the play.

It was time for L to appear and when you saw the two of them being close to each other, you couldn't help but feel a hint of jealousy inside your heart. You gripped onto the rop of the curtains tightly and sadly glared at L being so close to Jungmi. Your heart was beating faster and your stomach was tensing up at the sight you were seeing. [Their just acting, it's not going to be real]. You repeated that in your head to keep you remain calm.

The crowed clapped and that was a sign for you to close the curtains so you pulled onto the tope to close it. Everyone walked backstage and drank water to refreshen up before the second act.

"Wow, that went by smoothly, I can't wait for the second act" Jungmi said, smirking your way. You know what was going to happen in the second act, the kissing scene. You looked the other way to avoid her smirk and gazed at you.

"Quick everyone, the second act is going to happen" the teacher hurried everyone to get ready. "Don't forget to break a leg" she said and walked out on stage to announce the second act.

When L walked past you, you quickly grabbed onto his arm which made him turn to look at you. "What is it?" he asked, in his monotone.

You slowly looked up at him, "If.. I ask you not to kiss her.. will you?" you wondered. He gave you a look, "The jealousy bug bit you already?" he asked, with a hint of amused in his voice. You swallowed and slowly nodded your head, admitting that you were jealous.

"It's the play. I don't that I can do that" he pulled his arm out of your grip. You stared to the floor with your hand frozen in the same spot as before. [He's really going to do it.. he's going to kiss her]. You could feel your eyes getting teary but you looked up and around to stop it from fall down and walked back to the curtains.

Woohyun was standing far away and was what happened between you and L. [~~~~~ likes L?]. He couldn't help but feel hurt at what he just witnessed. He looked away angrily and returned to the stage. He saw L on the opposite side and his hand formed a fist. [~~~~~ can't you see that I like you as well].

You were backstage, holding onto the rope tightly as the kiss scene was nearing. The witch gave Jungmi the apple and she bit it. Before you knew it, the kiss scene was happening. You gripped tightly onto the role and bit your lip, trying hard to not cry at such a stupid thing. You couldn't help but let one tear fall down your eyes. 

L leaned in closely to Jungmi and looked at her face. "If.. I ask you not to kiss her.. will you?" your voice just played in his head and he paused a bit. He lifted his eyes slightly up and saw you standing in front of him holding the rope behind the curtain. You had tears in your eyes and they were slowly rolling down your cheeks. [She's crying over this? She's hurt, I can tell by looking at her eyes].

"Prince, aren't you going to kiss Snow White?" Sunggyu asked, nodding towards Jungmi. L looked at him and back to Jungmi. [Just kiss her, ~~~~~ will eventually get over it]. He inwardly sighed and leaned in to Jungmi. Your eyes widened when he started to lean in. [He's leaning closer to her]. You stared at him, shocked, surprised, jealousy and all these types of emotions were rolling inside you.

A L was just inches away from Jungmi's lips, suddenly the lights turned off. You looked around, shocked at what just happened. "What happened?" you whispered to yourself. Everyone in the audience started whispering.

Soomin and Mina looked around, "What.. did we have a blackout or something?" Mina wondered out loud. Soomin shook her head, "I don't know..".

The lights were still off and everyone wondered what happened. L stood up and turned around to see if you were the one who did it, but saw you still standing in your position behind the curtains. [She didn't do it. Then who?]. He walked up to you and held onto your arm, "Who did it?" he whispered. You shook your head, "I don't know" you whispered back.

The two of you looked around and L saw a figure walking away from the light switches. He squinted his eyes to get a closer look at who it was. [That person looks familiar].

[Even if I'm not the one you love, I'll always be your knight].
