Family meetings were always such a fun time, at least for the kids. They got to see their grandparents, both from Eunbi and Sakura. Since Sakura’s family was staying in Japan, they always make sure to visit their daughter’s family in Korea, even though they still have a hard time learning the language.

Usually, they won’t have a problem as Eunbi could speak japanese, even if it wasn’t perfect. But her japanese was too cute. Nako and Hitomi had no problem speaking in both languages, as Sakura always made sure to teach her kids japanese too. Yujin might have some problem with vocabulary but she was also good and Wonyoung was still learning.

The problem was the in-laws.

Mrs. Miyawaki took a glance at the korean man beside her who was holding a big box. They both have arrived at the same time, awkwardly bowing at each other before Mrs. Miyawaki rings the bell. It seems like the family was out.

Ah, I’m screwed.

Mrs. Miyawaki couldn’t help but sigh inwardly, as she didn't know what to speak or how to speak to her in-laws. If it was Eunbi’s mom, she probably wouldn’t have a hard time conversing as they could communicate with body language, but Mr. Kwon was holding this huge box.

Mr. Kwon might look calm on the outside, but he was panicking on the inside. He could recognize the japanese woman from afar as Sakura was a carbon copy of her mother.

This old man is screwed. Where the hell they are..

Mr. Kwon also couldn’t help but take glances at Mrs. Miyawaki, not knowing what to say. From the corner of his eyes, he saw Mrs. Miyawaki was looking at him. When their eyes met, Mrs. Miyawaki signalled the box to the ground.

Oh? Is she asking me to put this down?

Mr. Kwon lowered his gaze to the floor, only to find that he dropped his hat.

Oh.

Mr. Kwon grinned and put down the box beside his feet and took his hat. He bowed at her out of gratitude and soon they were engulfed by the silence once again. Mr. Kwon fished out his phone and texted his daughter.

Where are you? I’m outside your house with Kkura’s mom.

Eh? Why are you two together?

We just met here. Hurry, this is awkward. I don’t know what to say..

Hahaha this is a good time to bond with your in-laws!

We’re on our way home

Hurry, but be careful

Mr. Kwon put his phone back in his pocket and just stood there. Both just standing there, not knowing what to do, or say to each other. But Mr. Kwon was not someone who enjoys silence. He likes to chat, just like his daughter. So he turned his head, and carefully poke Sakura mom's arm to get her attention. She turned her head, giving her full attention to Mr. Kwon.

“Kkura.”

Mrs. Miyawaki nodded her head.

“Good.”

Mr. Kwon showing off her two thumbs. Mrs. Miyawaki widened her eyes and shook her head fast.

“No, no! Eun-chan, good!”

Mr. Kwon laughed as he shook his head as well.

“Kkura, one!”

Mrs. Miyawaki shrieked as she waved her hand frantically.

“No, no! Kkura two! Eun-chan one!”

And they keep doing that. For quite some time.

Thanks to that, the awkward tension between the two of them has reduced a lot. They are now laughing as they keep insisting which daughters are the best.

“What are you guys doing?”

Mrs. Miyawaki and Mr. Kwon turned their heads at the same time.

“Grandpa!” “Obaachan!!”

Mr. Kwon and Mrs. Miyawaki spread their arms to engulf their excited grandchildrens to their embrace. Nako and Hitomi to Mrs. Miyawaki while Yujin and Wonyoung went to their grandpapa’s.

“My puppies!” “My kittens!”

Eunbi and Sakura watched their parents with a smile until Sakura noticed the huge box near her father in-law. She then walked to him and took the box without words before she trails behind Eunbi who unlocked the door. Mr. Kwon and Mrs. Miyawaki turns their heads to each other.

“See?! Kkura one!”

Mr. Kwon grinned while Mrs. Miyawaki rolled her eyes. Yujin, who was in her grandpapa’s embrace, stared at him confusedly.

“No, mama is thirty three grandpapa. If mama one, that means she’s younger than Wonnie.”
