Forever

You Make Me A Good Man

(A few months later)

Today was the day.

Eight long years had passed since they first got together. They’d been through ups and downs, happy and sad times, and they stuck with each other through it all. The time had finally come for them to fulfil their promise to each other, and to say they were nervous was a huge understatement.

Hyunseung paced around the room, eyes darting towards his son, then his sister and best friend. When the three gave him equally concerned looks, Hyunseung just groaned and plopped back down on his chair. He stared at himself in the mirror, squinting at his reflection and picking at his hair. “Why won’t this strand of hair stay in place?”

Doojoon raised a brow at the younger male, walking over to the table and grabbing the opened container of gel. He began to fix Hyunseung’s hair for what seemed to be the hundredth time that morning, clucking his tongue and looking at Hyunseung through the mirror. “You need to stop stressing out over your hair, Seung. Junhyung isn’t going to leave you just because you have one wild strand of hair sticking out,” he mumbled, tired of doing and redoing his best friend’s hair over and over again.

“Umma looks handsome!” Ilhoon exclaimed with a bright grin. The boy was dressed smartly in a small tux, looking dapper as ever. Climbing into Hyunseung’s lap, the young boy looked up at his mother and nodded approvingly. “I don’t think appa is going to be able to resist you at all!”

Geurim burst out in laughter at the expression on Hyunseung’s face. “Nice one, Ilhoonie!”

Despite his initial shock, Hyunseung could only let out a chuckle. He knew that they were trying to get him to relax, and he really appreciated their effort. Of course he knew that Junhyung would love him regardless of how he looked, because this was Junhyung they were talking about. Nonetheless, who wouldn’t want to look their best for their better half? For just one day, Hyunseung wanted to – no, had to – look absolutely perfect.

“Is this fine?” Doojoon asked, rolling his eyes when Hyunseung smiled and nodded. “I don’t even know why I’m here and Yoseob isn’t. Don’t you need him to, I don’t know, give you tips on married life and how it’s like?”

This time, it was Hyunseung’s turn to stare blankly at his best friend. “I know you’re worried about him, but come on. He and Junhyung haven’t spent quality time alone in forever, and I’m quite sure Junnie will call us if anything happens to them,” he assured, turning back to the mirror and looking at his reflection one last time. “How do I look?”

“Absolutely stunning,” Geurim said, quickly taking a few photos and sending them to her parents.

One hour left.

Hyunseung had one hour left to live as Jang Hyunseung.

--------------------------

Junhyung woke up bright and early that day, 6am to be exact. It was the day that he would finally get to call Hyunseung his husband, start a new chapter in his life. He didn’t think he would ever forget Jaewon or Hara, but he didn’t think of them much anymore.

He had a busy day ahead of him, what with having to visit some people and getting back to the hotel before eleven. Everything was already planned, down to the smallest detail, so at least Hyunseung and Junhyung didn’t have much to worry about. With a content smile, Junhyung had gone to wash up quickly before kissing Hyunseung and Ilhoon goodbye, at least till the wedding.

Heading downstairs, Junhyung let himself into Doojoon’s apartment, plopping onto the couch and waiting for Yoseob to be done washing up. The two of them had a bit of an agenda that morning, and Yoseob was only going along because he wanted to. Junhyung had had a really hard time convincing Doojoon to let Yoseob follow him, what with the younger male being nine months pregnant at this point and about to pop.

It took less than ten minutes before Yoseob emerged from his room, looking exhausted as ever but, at the same time, the pregnancy really made him glow. Doojoon walked out behind his husband, giving Junhyung a warning look. “You better take good care of him,” he said protectively. Yoseob rolled his eyes, but that didn’t stop the small smile on his face. Junhyung was genuinely happy for his best friend; Yoseob really deserved to live a good life, after all that he’d been through. Doojoon was the only person that Junhyung would allow Yoseob to be with.

“Don’t be such a worrywart. Do you honestly think I’d let anything happen to Seob?” Junhyung questioned incredulously, raising a brow at the elder male. Doojoon huffed in defeat, giving his husband a kiss on the cheek and telling him to be careful. “Relax, I’ll return him to you in a bit.”

The two friends went down together, getting into the car and starting towards their first destination. The sun was barely up, that was how early Junhyung and Yoseob were. After all, it wouldn’t be nice to get caught in a jam. Hyunseung would have Junhyung’s head if he was late, no questions asked.

Yoseob let out a small yawn, looking at Junhyung sheepishly. “Sorry, Eunkwang was keeping me up all night with his kicking,” he explained, his hand automatically moving over to rest over his bulging belly. Junhyung smiled absentmindedly, watching Yoseob caress the bump. He couldn’t help but remember that, if it weren’t for Jaewon, Hyunseung would be about six months pregnant now, with their baby girl Jiyoon. Sighing inwardly at the thought, Junhyung could only hope that she was watching over her family from up above.

“Get some rest. I’ll wake you up when we get there,” Junhyung suggested, noting the bags under Yoseob’s eyes. The pregnant male yawned again, nodding in thanks and leaning against the window. It wasn’t even a minute later that he was asleep, but Junhyung could hardly blame him.

It was about another half hour drive before they made it to their first destination, and Junhyung found a parking lot before shaking Yoseob awake gently. The younger stretched a little, looking around and processing where exactly they were. When Yoseob was fully awake, Junhyung turned the engine off and got out of the car, Yoseob right behind him.

They walked around, stopping in front of the tombstone that read ‘Gu Hara’. The pair sat down silently, thinking of what to say. It was Yoseob who spoke up first, smiling wistfully as he thought of the person who was his first real friend. “Noona, it’s been five months and I still can’t really believe that you’re gone. We didn’t talk much after you broke up with Junhyung hyung, but I knew that I could always count on you to help me if I needed it. You’re in a better place now, and who knows, maybe you’ve met Jiyoon. I just hope that you watch over us well,” he said with a sad sigh.

Taking a deep breath, Junhyung forced a small smile. “Hey Hara, I’m getting married today. I know I hurt you, and if I had a choice, I wouldn’t have caused you so much emotional pain. But even if we went back in time, I would’ve done the same thing. Hyunseung was the best thing that ever happened to me, and I hope you know that you and I were never meant to be together. I really hope that you’ll give us your blessings, protect all of us as you did me. There isn’t even a way to thank you for what you did for me,” he muttered, shaking his head slightly. “We… probably won’t be back to visit you anytime soon. We’re all starting a new chapter of our lives soon, and wherever you are, I just want you to be happy.”

With that, both Junhyung and Yoseob got up, bowing slightly before heading back to the car. The sun was up by now, and when Junhyung checked the time it was already 7.30am. He started the car, hurrying just a little to their next destination.

He really couldn’t afford to be late to his own wedding.

----------------------------

An hour had passed by the time they made it to their next destination, Paradise. This time, it wasn’t the Lee brothers who were running the shop, but their mother instead. And that was to be expected, considering the fact that the brothers were supposed to be getting ready for Junhyung’s wedding; they, and their group of friends, had of course been invited. They did help Junhyung a great deal after all, in those seven years.

“Junhyung-ah, it’s been so long since I’ve seen you. Shouldn’t you be busy getting ready for your big day? And this is Yoseob, isn’t it?” the elder woman asked kindly. Mrs. Lee was in her late fifties, had been running the store since over thirty years ago. She was there when Junhyung first visited the store, all the way back when he was still a little kid. Of course she knew his story, and had always treated him like her own son. She was as close to a mother as Junhyung could get.

The pregnant male nodded, grinning at the elder.

“Just visiting umma and Junsung’s graves before getting back,” Junhyung explained with a smile.

Nodding, Mrs. Lee went to get his usual flowers. “She’d be proud to know that you grew out of those dark times, and that you’re nowhere near following your father’s footsteps,” she told him, already walking back to the counter and beginning to wrap the bouquet.

“Ah,” Junhyung started, as if he’d just remembered something. “Would it be possible to get me another bouquet? I’d like orange blossoms.”

Mrs. Lee raised a brow, but nodded and finished up with the first two bouquets before going to get the orange blossoms. As she was wrapping them up, she asked, “Who’s this for? Your husband?”

Yoseob looked over at Junhyung, already knowing the answer before the elder even answered. After all, they weren’t just visiting two more graves. Beside the graves of Mrs. Yong and Junsung, a small tombstone had been erected. It didn’t take a genius to figure out whose name was written on it.

“…it’s for the baby girl that Hyunseung and I lost,” Junhyung finally answered.

Mrs. Lee nodded understandingly, taking the two bouquets and handing them to Junhyung. After paying and bidding farewell to her, Junhyung and Yoseob were back in the car, heading for their last destination before they were supposed to get back for the wedding.

It wasn’t a long drive this time, what with Junhyung being so familiar with the route. Within fifteen minutes they were at the cemetery, a different one from where Hara had been buried. Junhyung navigated his way through the cemetery easily, finding the three tombstones and feeling a familiar calm within himself. He was never afraid when he visited his family – he knew that he was safe, being watched over by them.

Yoseob followed closely behind him, stumbling slightly and letting out a yelp in alarm. Junhyung turned around with wide eyes, heaving a huge sigh of relief when Yoseob managed to regain his balance and looked at the elder sheepishly. “Oops. Tripped on a rock.”

“God, Seob, I’m going to get a heart attack soon. Not getting any younger, you know,” he muttered. He placed the bouquets of flowers on their respective tombs, bowing to his mother’s tombstone before sitting down in front of it and patting the space beside him, looking towards his best friend. Yoseob smiled, sat down beside Junhyung, and greeted Mrs. Yong.

“I’m getting married today, umma. I can finally call Seungie my husband. I’m sure you and Hyuksoon are happy for me, right? Did you meet Jiyoon? I hope you’re taking care of her well up there, and that she’s behaving well. Make sure Ilhoon and Seungie don’t ever get hurt again,” he requested. Then he glanced at Yoseob and added, “Let Eunkwang be a healthy boy, too, and may Seob have a safe and quick delivery.”

Nodding, Yoseob also said, “Bless Junhyung hyung and Hyunseung hyung with another child soon. And keep it safe this time; don’t ever let anything happen to Hyunseung hyung again.”

Junhyung scooted over, now sitting in front of Jiyoon’s tombstone. Obviously there was no grave; Hyunseung had only been four weeks along when they lost her. With a soft sigh, Junhyung said, “My dearest Jiyoon, appa and umma will always love you. Orange blossoms mean eternal love and innocence, you know? Please look over us from where you are. We won’t forget you, ever.”

Letting out another sigh, Junhyung got up. “It’s about time to go back,” he told Yoseob, holding out a hand and helping the other up. Together they went back to the car, making their way back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding.

-------------------------

They arrived at around 10.30am, and quickly got to work. Junhyung changed into his tux, one that matched the one Hyunseung wore. Gikwang and Dongwoon were in charge of Junhyung’s attire, and the couple worked effectively, gelling up hair and applying foundation, and within a half hour they were just about done.

“Do you think we need to touch up anything else?” Gikwang asked, his gaze sweeping over Junhyung’s face and hair once more. Junhyung looked himself over once, smirking slightly and shaking his head. Hyunseung could barely resist him when he was at home, in plain old clothes. Wait till his fiancé – no, husband – saw him in a tux.

“I think I’m good. Thanks a lot, guys,” he said gratefully, leaning back in his chair and closing his eyes briefly. He tried not to show it, but Junhyung was actually really nervous. Most of the wedding had been planned by him, so he really hoped that Hyunseung would love it. And although he and Hyunseung had discussed almost everything about the wedding, there was just one little detail he’d left out, on purpose; it was his surprise to the elder male.

Yoseob was on the small couch dozing off. He was just so tired lately, with his due date coming up. Honestly, Junhyung and Hyunseung had thought about postponing their wedding to an entire year later; they really wanted to get married on their anniversary. But Yoseob clearly refused, saying that he definitely wouldn’t go into labour on the day itself. He would forcefully close his legs if he had to. When he said that, Hyunseung burst into laughter, and the couple could only give in to their friend.

“Uncle Junhyung looks so handsome!” Minhyuk exclaimed with a wide grin. The boy, now three, had improved a lot in terms of speaking Korean. He still couldn’t read and write much, but his grammar was vastly different from when Junhyung had first returned. Just like Ilhoon, Minhyuk was wearing a tux of his own, and god knows how much Dongwoon had gushed over his baby.

Reaching down and lifting Minhyuk into his lap, Junhyung grinned. “I think Minhyuk is more handsome than me today. What if Auntie Hyunseung wants to marry you instead?” he asked, feigning fear that Hyunseung would change his mind. Gikwang could barely hide his smile when his son’s eyes widened in horror, and Dongwoon let a chuckle slip.

“No! Auntie Hyunseung must marry Uncle Junhyung!” he insisted, squirming around in Junhyung’s hold and trying to get off the man’s lap. “Let me tell Auntie Hyunseung!”

Yoseob blinked, woken up by the noise, and cocked his head to the side in confusion. “Tell Auntie Hyunseung what?” he asked, not having heard a single word of the conversation prior.

“Not to marry me!” the boy replied agitatedly. Yoseob gave his friends questioning looks, and they all just shrugged back at him with an innocent smile. Rolling his eyes, Yoseob told Junhyung to let Minhyuk go, and that he’d bring him to see Hyunseung. He was beginning to miss his husband after all, as well as his girls who were with Heechul.

When the two left the room, Gikwang and Dongwoon burst out in laughter. “Why is our son so adorable?” Dongwoon asked, his tone full of love for the toddler. Gikwang only smiled, leaning over to kiss Dongwoon on the cheek.

“Kids can be so fun to disturb,” Junhyung chuckled, and the other two couldn’t agree more.

The eldest in the room took a glance at the clock, and felt his heart quicken just slightly. Teasing Minhyuk had gotten rid of some nervousness, but now that there was just another thirty minutes till the wedding began… Junhyung felt his nerves getting the better of him once again.

Breathe in, breathe out.

He could do this.

-------------------------

Before either of the two grooms realised, it was noon. The wedding was a small event, consisting mainly of close family and friends. Jungsu and his family were invited, as well as Sunggyu and his friends. Heechul was there too, with his family, and Geurim had even brought her boyfriend along. There were all of three tables, with less than thirty guests, and the wedding was being held outdoors, in the garden.

White rose petals were scattered around the area, making the place look pure and serene. There was a beautiful arch that led into the garden, as well as a small stage of sorts with a podium. Standing behind the podium was Siwon, who was actually a certified pastor. Junhyung was on the stage, standing nervously with a bouquet of flowers in hand. Sungjong, Sungyeol, and Myungsoo had personally prepared the bouquet, choosing flowers that symbolised love and devotion. It was a beautiful bouquet, one befitting of its recipient.

Sitting at the ivory piano was Sungjong, and beside him was Myungsoo with his guitar. The couple had gladly agreed to play the wedding music, practicing multiple times to make sure that they wouldn’t screw up. When the clock struck twelve, Sungjong’s fingers began moving over the black and white keys, whilst Myungsoo strummed the strings on his guitar. Junhyung had arranged the music, changing it to something a little different than the original wedding music.

As the music played, Junhyung’s grip on the bouquet tightened. Hyunseung and his father finally came into view, the former’s arm wrapped around the latter’s. Junhyung had to in a breath; Hyunseung looked so beautiful. His black hair was gelled perfectly, and he was wearing just enough makeup to bring out his features. There was a slightly bashful look on the elder’s face, and it only made Junhyung adore him even more.  Just what have I done in my life to deserve an angel like this? Junhyung couldn’t help but think.

The walk to the stage seemed so painfully slow to Hyunseung. He just wanted to get to his handsome husband-to-be, was that so much to ask? Junhyung was simply stunning today, his hair falling over his eyes just slightly, and god, that smirk of his was going to be the death of Hyunseung.

Jihyun and Sohyun were right in front of Hyunseung – they were the flower girls for today, holding their little baskets and throwing rose petals left and right. Needless to say, Ilhoon was the ring bearer, standing in front of the stage and grinning brightly at his umma.

It seemed like forever before Hyunseung finally made it onto the stage, and his father handed his hand over to Junhyung with a smile. “I know you’ll take good care of my boy,” Mr. Jang said. “But if you ever break his heart, then you can bet that I’m coming after you.”

Junhyung chuckled. “Then you don’t have to worry; I’m never going to break his heart.”

The elder nodded, giving Hyunseung a brief hug before going to his seat beside his wife. Junhyung looked at Hyunseung, his heart threatening to burst with joy. He was about to be married to the most gorgeous human being ever; how could he not be happy?

“Hey,” Hyunseung mumbled, trying to keep himself from full-out grinning.

“I missed you,” Junhyung replied, resisting the urge to just kiss his lover. Instead, he handed the bouquet over, saying “Sungjong, Myungsoo and Sungyeol prepared this specially for you.”

Hyunseung smiled, taking the bouquet and reminding himself to thank them later. “It’s beautiful.”

“Just like you,” Junhyung murmured, inhaling deeply and catching the scent of Hyunseung’s cologne.

“Ahem,” Siwon cleared his throat, chuckling in amusement because the lovebirds were just so caught up in their own world. The couple turned to look at him, eyes wide in shock, as if they’d just been caught doing something bad. “May we begin?”

Hyunseung’s cheeks coloured slightly, and he nodded in unison with Junhyung. “Of course.”

“Well then. We’re gathered here today to celebrate the union of Yong Junhyung and Jang Hyunseung in holy matrimony. If anyone can show just cause why they may not be lawfully joined together, let them speak now or forever hold their peace,” Siwon began. When everyone was silent, he continued his opening speech.

Honestly, Junhyung couldn’t care for it. He just wanted the whole ceremony over and done with, to be lawfully wedded to Hyunseung and begin the rest of their lives together. He could barely concentrate on what Siwon was even saying, because Hyunseung was just beside him and he was just aching to touch the elder, kiss him, maybe more.

Hyunseung wasn’t faring that much better. When was the last time he’d seen Junhyung in a tux? Heck, had he ever seen Junhyung in a tux? He didn’t even know if he’d be able to speak properly; he was just so distracted by his extremely handsome lover.

“Do you, Yong Junhyung, take Jang Hyunseung to be your lawfully wedded husband, promising to love and cherish, through joy and sorrow, sickness and health, and whatever challenges you may face, for as long as you both shall live?"

Junhyung blinked back to reality when he heard his name, and the sides of his lips curved up into a smile. “Yes, definitely yes. I do,” he replied, unable to keep the happiness bottled up.

“Do you, Jang Hyunseung, take Yong Junhyung to be your lawfully wedded husband, promising to love and cherish, through joy and sorrow, sickness and health, and whatever challenges you may face, for as long as you both shall live?"

“I think I’ve waited long enough,” Hyunseung answered cheekily. “Yeah, I do.”

With that, Ilhoon stepped up onto the stage shyly, holding the rings out to his parents. They weren’t fancy, but instead simple, elegant. There was a small diamond embedded in the middle of each ring, and on the insides of the rings were Junhyung’s and Hyunseung’s initials. Taking the ring with his own initials, Junhyung carefully slipped it onto Hyunseung’s finger. The elder did the same, the smile never leaving his face.

Siwon smiled, and declared, “I now pronounce you husband and husband. You may-” Before he could say anything else, Junhyung had pulled Hyunseung to him and captured his lips in a hungry kiss, and it was as if they were in their own world. They weren’t surrounded by family and friends anymore; it was just the two of them, kissing each other as if it was what kept them alive.

They both broke apart when somebody wolf whistled – Geurim. “You go, oppa!” she cheered, earning herself a glare from her mother and a chuckle from her boyfriend. Ilhoon, who had been standing there the whole time, only laughed at his parents. They were now turning red from embarrassment, too caught up in their euphoria to remember that they had guests watching.

“My job here is done,” Siwon said with a smile. “Congratulations.”

Junhyung returned it with a smile of his own. “Thanks, Siwon hyung.”

It was almost right after Siwon left that a song began playing, one unfamiliar to Hyunseung.

“No one interrupt our story

My sweet whisper is starting now

Like an unbelievable dream,

I’ll embrace you so you can’t wake up

Come closer to me I’ll protect you”

Hyunseung looked around, confused, because somehow he recognised these voices. It took him quite a while to realise that these voices belonged to BEAST, and that the song was probably new and composed by his husband. As the song continued, Hyunseung felt tears prick at his eyes. Junhyung really, really had to stop composing songs just for him.

Noticing that Hyunseung had caught on, Junhyung smirked victoriously. His surprise had been a success! Wrapping his arms around Hyunseung’s neck loosely, Junhyung mumbled, “Do you like it? It’s called History.”

Hyunseung only nodded, unable to find words to express how he felt. What was he supposed to say? A thank you definitely wasn’t going to cut it, and he just… he was amazed at how Junhyung made him fall deeper in love, even after so many years.

“Come on, let’s get some food,” Junhyung told Hyunseung, glancing back at who were now his in-laws. Mrs. Jang gave him a smile, one that was looking more genuine by the day. She was finally growing to accept Junhyung, and honestly that was all Hyunseung wanted from her. Mr. Jang and Geurim, on the other hand, were grinning at the newlyweds.

Hyunseung nodded again, turning his attention away from Junhyung and towards their son. “Come on, Ilhoon. We should go and get some lunch,” he said, grabbing the boy’s hand and walking over to their table.

-------------------------

Before anyone knew it, the wedding was over and it was about time for the newlyweds to go for their honeymoon. Again, Junhyung hadn’t told Hyunseung anything at all, but clearly his family knew exactly where they were headed. Heck, everyone except Hyunseung seemed to know where they were going, and this got Hyunseung grumpy.

“When are you going to tell me where we’re headed?” Hyunseung whined for the nth time, tugging on Junhyung’s shirtsleeve and pouting. Ilhoon looked at his mother weirdly; even he would’ve learned to stop asking by now.

Clearing his throat, Mr. Jang got up. “We won’t be sending you two off, because we’ve got to head home. Congratulations, you two,” he said with a warm smile, hugging his new son-in-law, his son, then his grandson. Geurim did the same, albeit ten times more excited than her father. Mrs. Jang was awkward about it, but eventually she hugged them as well. Geurim’s boyfriend, on the other hand, simply congratulated the couple, shaking their hands before he left with the others.

Next, Sunggyu and his group came over, also congratulating the couple on getting married. They promised to send their wedding gifts over when the couple was back from their honeymoon, and Junhyung just frowned and told them that there wasn’t a need for wedding gifts.

“You’re getting them whether you like it or not,” Sungjong retorted, sticking his tongue out childishly at the elder. Hyunseung glanced at his husband, shrugging in defeat. He wasn’t one to ask for gifts but if people really wanted to give him something, then he wouldn’t decline either.

“Fine, thanks in advance then. We’ll see you around?” Junhyung asked, almost uncertainly.

Howon snorted and nodded. “I’ll definitely be seeing you if you break Hyunseung’s heart.”

“Ok bye!” Hyunseung exclaimed, hurriedly pushing his friend away. Dongwoo chuckled, grabbing his husband’s hand and walking away, waving to the newlyweds. The others left in a similar fashion, all promising to find a day to catch up properly.

Last but not least, the family of three moved over to the table where the rest of their friends were at. Jungsu and Yoseob were discussing something presumably related to the convenience store, the kids were playing, Heechul seemed to be flirting with Hangeng, Gikwang and Dongwoon were engaged in their private conversation, and Youngwoon and Doojoon were just staring at their husbands.

“Thanks a lot for coming,” Junhyung said gratefully.

Jungsu rolled his eyes, waving the younger male off. “It’s no big deal.”

Heechul nodded in agreement. “Stop by our restaurant soon, alright?”

With that, the two and their families got up to leave as well, leaving only the group of six friends.

“Do you know where we’re going?” Hyunseung asked, burning with curiosity. Gikwang offered a knowing look, but smiled and shrugged. Hyunseung looked to Dongwoon, who only grinned and told him that it was a surprise. Yoseob said that he’d love it for sure, while Doojoon told him to wait and find out. Growling in frustration, Hyunseung sent a pointed look to his husband. “How on earth did you get them all to hide this from me?” he demanded.

“We just like to mess with you, that’s why,” Doojoon replied with a smug grin, knowing that Hyunseung was sufficiently irritated. Hyunseung sighed exasperatedly, feeling an intense urge to just smack someone already.

“Even my baby doesn’t want to tell me,” Hyunseung groaned, glancing at his son.

Ilhoon grinned. “Sorry umma, but I promised not to tell. You’re the one who’s always telling me to keep my promises, right?” the boy asked, smiling innocently.

Hyunseung puffed his cheeks in frustration, narrowing his eyes at Junhyung. “You’re going to be the death of me, I swear,” he said, releasing a long sigh. Seriously, Junhyung even had Ilhoon against him now. Wasn’t Ilhoon supposed to love him most?

Junhyung chuckled, wrapping an arm around his husband and pulling the elder into his side. “If you want to find out, we’d better get going. The plane isn’t going to wait for us,” he pointed out, already bending down to pick Ilhoon up. “You behave for Auntie Seob and Uncle Doojoon, alright?”

“Yes!” Ilhoon mock saluted, giggling when Junhyung pressed kisses onto his face. “I’ll miss you.”

“I’ll miss you too,” Junhyung replied with a sigh.

Hyunseung nodded. “Make that three,” he said, taking Ilhoon from his husband and rubbing his face in the boy’s hair. “Be safe while we’re gone, alright?”

“Don’t you trust us?” Doojoon questioned with a frown.

“We’ll help out too, don’t worry about it,” Gikwang added. “Now go before you miss your flight!”

Hyunseung huffed, nodding and putting Ilhoon down. He went over to give Doojoon a hug, then Gikwang, Dongwoon, and Yoseob. “You take care of yourself too,” he told the pregnant male, giving him a stern look. Yoseob laughed, nodding and pushing his friend away and telling him to go already.

Taking Hyunseung’s hand in his, Junhyung began leading Hyunseung to the car. Ilhoon was grinning at his parents the whole time, really wanting them to enjoy themselves. “I love you!” he shouted, waving excitedly. Hyunseung felt tears prick his eyes; he was going to be who-knows-how-many-miles away from his baby boy, for a whole week.

“We love you too!” Junhyung shouted back, a small smile on his face. He was definitely going to miss their hyper son, but it was just for a week, so it wouldn’t be that bad. He’d gotten through seven years without the boy, so surely seven days was going to pass by in a flash.

Junhyung opened the passenger side door of the car, ushering Hyunseung in before closing the door and getting into the driver’s seat. As he drove off, Hyunseung couldn’t help but look back at their son, watching as his figure became smaller and smaller before going out of view completely.

“I miss him already,” Hyunseung sniffed.

Junhyung sighed, wrapping one arm around the elder’s shoulders. “I know, I know. But let’s just focus on us now, alright? This is our week together. We have the rest of our lives to spend with Ilhoon,” he reminded. Hyunseung scrunched his nose up cutely – he hated how Junhyung was always right.

“Fine.”

Chuckling, the younger male said, “You’re going to love this honeymoon.”

---------------------------

As it turned out, the couple were heading to Venice. Hyunseung could barely hide his excitement, because he was going to Europe for the first time ever! And Venice was just such a pretty place, with streams of water for roads and gondolas for cars. Hyunseung hadn’t a single doubt that he was going to love this honeymoon, just as Junhyung said he would.

Five hours after the wedding and the newlywed couple was in the plane, headed for Venice in a sixteen-hour long plane ride. They had taken their dinner and were currently watching some movie, but Hyunseung was already losing interest in it and beginning to doze off. Every few seconds, his head would drop onto Junhyung’s shoulder, and then the elder male would blink awake, only to repeat the process fifteen seconds later. Junhyung thought it was really cute and endearing, and after a while, he simply pushed Hyunseung’s head onto his shoulder.

“Why don’t we get some sleep and continue watching this later?” he suggested. Hyunseung let out a yawn, and Junhyung chuckled, turning the movie off and switching to some music channel playing classical music. “Goodnight, Seungie. I love you.”

Hyunseung hummed, already halfway into dreamland. “Love you too, Junnie.”

They managed to get about four hours’ sleep before the air stewardess woke them up for supper, and after that they continued to watch their movies. They managed to watch three different movies before taking another short nap. Then they ate breakfast, according to Korean time anyway. By the time they finally touched down in Marco Polo Airport, it was 3am local time. They stayed at the airport hotel for the night, checking into their room and quickly putting their belongings down. Exhausted and jetlagged didn’t even begin to cover how the two were feeling.

“Let’s take a quick shower and just get to bed,” Junhyung said, already pulling out a set of clothes for each of them. He pulled the quickly falling asleep elder into the shower with him, stripping down and setting his dirty clothes in the basket. Hyunseung did the same, his movements slow and lethargic, and by the time he stepped into the shower with his husband Junhyung was washing the shampoo out of his hair.

Normally the couple would never take an innocent shower together; something almost always happened and resulted in . But they were just so tired from the flight, and a seven-hour time difference wasn’t helping at all. Within ten minutes the couple was out of the shower, dressed in warm clothes and hair slightly damp and messy.

They collapsed into bed, turning the lights off and getting under the covers. After getting into a comfortable position, with Hyunseung’s head snuggled into Junhyung’s chest and the younger’s arms wrapped protectively around the elder, the couple was asleep.

-------------------------

The first official day of their honeymoon began when they woke up just in time for lunch, having slept past breakfast because honestly, long flights took a lot out of anyone. After going down to have lunch in one of the airport’s many restaurants, the couple booked out of their hotel and headed out to take a bus into the city of Venice itself.

It was about forty minutes later that the couple found themselves in front of a small home, ringing the doorbell and waiting for someone to open the door. Hyunseung was more than confused, but he figured that Junhyung had a plan, and waited patiently behind his husband.

He was more than surprised when the door opened, and the owner of the house greeted them in Korean. Aren’t we in Italy? he thought, eyes furrowing together in more confusion. Junhyung greeted the person with a small smile, taking something from the other and bowing as he left.

“Junnie, what’s going on?” Hyunseung asked, watching the owner of the house walk away with a small bag slung over his shoulder. Junhyung chuckled, promising to explain everything to Hyunseung and dragging the elder into the house with him.

After getting all their luggage into the bedroom, Junhyung went to make some tea for the two of them before finally sitting with his husband on the couch. “BoA noona actually sponsored some of this honeymoon, saying that she wanted to make up for not coming to the wedding. The owner of this house works under noona, and she contacted him, asking if he could let us borrow the house for a week. He gladly obliged, deciding to give himself a nice vacation while we were here to take care of the house for him,” he explained.

“Why does she know someone living in Venice?” the elder questioned.

“Well, Seungie, you do realise that the mafia has its roots in Italy?”

Hyunseung’s cheeks tinged red. “Oh. Right. So what’re we doing today?”

At this, Junhyung grinned and looked toward the stairs leading to the bedroom. “It is a honeymoon…” he mumbled, more to himself than anyone else, before scooping Hyunseung up in his arms and carrying the elder to the bedroom. Hyunseung let out a squeak, his face turning even redder than before.

“You’re seriously doing this now, in someone else’s house?” he asked in horror, yelping when Junhyung threw him onto the bed – carefully, of course.

Junhyung shrugged, glancing around the room and taking a moment to appreciate it. “He told us to throw the sheets before leaving, saying that he would replace them,” Junhyung replied simply, already advancing onto the elder.

Hyunseung could only nod mutely, accepting that he wasn’t going to be able to walk around properly for the remainder of their honeymoon. It wasn’t long before Junhyung had captured his lips in a heated kiss, and before he knew it Hyunseung was stripping his husband down, feeling his own clothes being peeled off and thrown to some corner of the room.

Hands roamed over bodies, teeth nipped at skin, and within minutes the couple was a sweaty, panting mess. Both of their faces were flushed, and they’d broken the kiss to catch their breath. Their hands never stopped moving, though, and after a while Junhyung had captured Hyunseung’s lips once more.

Suffice to say, the rest of the afternoon was spent in the bedroom.

---------------------------

The next day Hyunseung woke up feeling extremely sore and barely wanted to move out of bed. They’d spent the entire afternoon making love, then went out to dinner before continuing where they left off. Hyunseung wasn’t entirely sure where Junhyung got his energy from, because after the third round he was already spent. Maybe it had to do with being busy with wedding preparations. Junhyung had been pretty busy the past month, leaving them almost no time for themselves.

Hyunseung groaned when he felt a sharp pain in his back, and opted to just snuggle back into Junhyung’s arms. He really didn’t want to move today, but he also wanted to explore Venice and all its beauty. Sometimes he really, really hated Junhyung.

“Seung?” Junhyung mumbled, his voice thick with sleep. Hyunseung grunted in response, earning himself a small chuckle from his husband. “Was I too hard on you last night?”

Feeling his cheeks heat up just slightly at the thought of their activities for, well, the whole of yesterday, Hyunseung hit Junhyung’s chest with a clenched fist. “What do you think?”

“Alright, alright, I’ll carry you to the shower to make up for it,” Junhyung conceded, the humour never leaving his voice. Hyunseung rolled his eyes, but smiled as he was scooped up and brought to the bathroom. Junhyung set Hyunseung on the counter and began running a bath, obviously knowing that Hyunseung wasn’t going to be able to stand in the shower for long. As the water was running, Junhyung turned to look at his husband and he whistled. “I think I did a marvellous job, if I may say so myself.”

Hyunseung raised a brow, turning to look in the mirror and wincing at the sudden movement. His eyes widened when he took in his full appearance, and groaned as he hid his face in his hands. He knew that Junhyung had bitten him a lot more than usual last night, but this was ridiculous. There was hardly any skin that was left unmarked by the younger male. Explains the pain, Hyunseung huffed at the thought, turning back around and letting his eyes run over Junhyung’s body.

“You’re not that much better,” the elder retorted, feeling a smile tug at his lips when Junhyung finally took a look at his own body. Hyunseung had returned Junhyung’s bites with about just as much fervour, so the younger male’s body was nearly just as bruised as his was.

“…I think we went a little far last night,” Junhyung admitted sheepishly. “No regrets though.”

Hyunseung shook his head exasperatedly, but ended up chuckling anyway. “You think? Now get me into that water; my back is killing me and don’t even get me started on the pain in my . Literally,” Hyunseung said, holding his arms out and letting Junhyung lift him off the counter. He let out a relieved sigh when he was in the nice, warm water, and felt some of the pain ease away. “Are you joining me? Because I don’t think there’s space in this tub for two.”

“I’ll bring you some clothes, maybe shower downstairs. Hopefully breakfast is ready by the time you’re out,” Junhyung said, kissing Hyunseung tenderly on the forehead before walking out of the bathroom. He returned a minute later with a fresh set of clothes, leaving them on the counter and heading downstairs to take a shower of his own.

Thirty minutes later, Hyunseung was finally ready to get out of the tub. It had been really nice to take a long soak in warm water. His back felt a lot better, although it was still rather sore, and when he stood up he winced slightly. It took some time for Hyunseung to dry himself and put his clothes on, not wanting to cause himself any more pain by moving too quickly.

Limping downstairs, Hyunseung took in a deep breath and grinned when he smelt pancakes. Obviously Junhyung had showered a lot faster than he had, and was probably almost done with breakfast. He took a seat at the dining table, unable to stop smiling when he saw the marks on Junhyung’s neck. Hyunseung hadn’t left nearly as many hickeys as Junhyung did, but he did leave more visible ones.

“Feeling better?” Junhyung asked in concern, flipping the last pancake once before turning the stove off and bring the entire plate to the table. Hyunseung yawned a little, nodding in reply and eyeing the pancakes hungrily.

“I still blame you,” the elder grumbled, sticking his tongue out childishly.

“Hey, you’re the one who was looking so handsome during the wedding – don’t blame me for not being able to resist the temptation,” Junhyung defended. He frowned when Hyunseung mumbled something under his breath. “Huh?”

“Ilhoon said something about how you wouldn’t be able to resist me,” Hyunseung repeated, his cheeks burning in embarrassment. It was all Junhyung could do not to coo and hug his adorable husband. Instead, he laughed and put a pancake on Hyunseung’s plate.

“He wasn’t wrong. Let’s eat; we have a whole day ahead of us.”

------------------------

The first place the couple had headed to was none other than the iconic Piazza San Marco. It had been a long (and for Hyunseung, painful) walk there, with the couple just enjoying the scenery and taking their time to get there. It was a nearly noon by the time they’d arrived, so before they did anything else, they’d gone to find some food to fill their stomachs.

Unsurprisingly, Junhyung had a list of food that were ‘must-try’; the younger male later explained that he’d asked around, searched a lot online, before coming up with this list and he would be damned if they didn’t eat at least half of the things on the list. So after some looking around, the couple finally settled on a quaint little restaurant to have their second lunch in Venice.

Lunch passed by in a flash, with the couple talking about anything and everything under the sun. Before they knew it they were out of the warm building and back in the cold winter air. The piazza was bustling with activity, being the main public square of Venice and one of the top places for tourists to visit. Junhyung had an arm around Hyunseung’s waist, more than afraid that the elder would somehow get lost. He had no doubt that Hyunseung knew not a single word of Italian, so honestly it’d be disastrous if he let his husband get lost.

“So where are we going?” Hyunseung asked, shivering slightly as the winter air blew right into his face. Both of them were dressed warmly, but still, it was nearing zero degrees. Anyone who was normal would be cold.

“First we’re going there,” Junhyung said, pointing to what looked like a clock tower. Taking his phone out, he read, “It’s called Torre dell'Orologio. Been here for a good 500 years.”

Hyunseung’s eyes widened in surprise. “That’s really long.”

Humming in agreement, Junhyung found a nice spot to stand before pulling Hyunseung closer to him. Planting a kiss to Hyunseung’s temple, Junhyung quickly held his phone up and took a picture. “Hey!” the elder exclaimed, having been caught off guard. He grabbed the phone, opening the gallery and looking at the photo. “…I guess I look decent.”

“You know you’ll look good to me no matter what,” Junhyung reminded with a raised brow, as if Hyunseung should already know this without him saying it. “Well, don’t just stand there. We’re going in.”

Hyunseung nodded, seemingly awestruck by the beauty of the building. When Junhyung pretended to walk away without him, the elder snapped back to reality and whined, “Junnie, don’t leave me here!” before hastily catching up and holding onto his husband’s hand tightly. Junhyung smiled, holding onto Hyunseung’s hand just as tightly and heading to the clock tower together.

Junhyung had really done his homework, Hyunseung slowly realised, when he noticed that it probably wasn’t as crowded as it could’ve been. As if reading his mind, Junhyung said, “Venice is less crowded during winter. Good thing our anniversary is in February.”

“Have I ever told you how much I love you?” Hyunseung asked, suddenly feeling an overwhelming surge of love for the man he was lucky to call his husband. Honestly, what had he done to deserve someone as good as the younger?

Smiling, Junhyung nodded. “Only every day. But… you could show me again tonight.”

Hyunseung only blushed, still walking slightly awkwardly. “Don’t you think you’ve had enough last night?” he demanded, trying his best to sound angry but failing miserably as his cheeks continued to burn in embarrassment.

“I could never have enough of you, and you know it.”

“Oh shut up and lead the way.”

-------------------------

The couple spent the rest of their honeymoon in the same manner: wake up, have breakfast, go out, have lunch and dinner outside, get back home, have , repeat. They did video call Ilhoon once a night, though, and the first time they’d called Hyunseung almost cried. He was enjoying himself, that was for sure, but he also really missed his baby.

Ilhoon had somehow gotten the idea of having a dog while his parents were gone, claiming that his friend at school had recently gotten one and that it was just the cutest thing. Hyunseung had looked at Junhyung unsurely, and the couple only said that they’d think about it, but no promises.

Before they knew it, the one-week honeymoon was coming to an end. Within the seven days, the couple had visited most of the famous landmarks and attractions, taken a gondola ride, and eaten everything that was on Junhyung’s list. It was their last day there and, after having breakfast outside for once, the couple was on their way back to the house to pack their clothes. Hyunseung was so conflicted – he loved Venice, and he really didn’t want to leave, but his son was waiting for him at home and anyone would know that Hyunseung would go back to Korea in a heartbeat if Ilhoon needed him.

“Will we ever come back?” Hyunseung asked, taking in the sights around him for what could be the last time. It would be a complete lie if he said that he wouldn’t miss the place, and would really love to come back when Ilhoon was older.

Junhyung shrugged, letting out a soft sigh. “Maybe. Who knows? We could go to some other European country, maybe France or London or Germany,” he suggested. Hyunseung nodded, already looking forward to bringing their son along with them next time.

It wasn’t long before they arrived back at the house they’d been staying in for the past six days, and they quickly went in to pack whatever was left to pack. Within the hour they were done, and had changed into a fresh set of clothes after showering. They left the moment they were ready, and Junhyung had of course remembered to throw the bedsheets out. Leaving the house keys in the mailbox, the couple set off to the airport.

In three hours, Junhyung and Hyunseung were seated comfortably in the plane, soaring through the sky and headed home to their son. It was going to be another long flight, and when they arrived it would probably be mid-afternoon. Knowing that they wouldn’t be able to sleep right away when they reached, Junhyung and Hyunseung silently agreed that they would sleep on the plane.

Two movies and one dinner later, Hyunseung’s head was on Junhyung’s shoulder, the elder sleeping soundly whilst snuggling into Junhyung’s side. Junhyung had his arm wrapped protectively around Hyunseung’s shoulder, and his cheek was resting against the top of Hyunseung’s head. The air stewardess felt terrible for waking the pair up for supper, and had quickly given their food to them before leaving them alone once more.

Between sleeping, eating, and watching movies, the seventeen-hour flight passed by in a flash. It seemed like only a few hours had passed when the captain’s voice was sounding through the speakers, announcing that everyone was to fasten their seatbelts and prepare for landing. Another forty minutes later and the couple was getting off the plane, moving with the crowd and trying not to get split up somehow.

Add another twenty minutes and Junhyung was looking at the TV screen, looking for whichever belt their luggage were supposed to be. “Belt 23,” Hyunseung said, managing to find it before Junhyung did, and already pulling his husband there to wait for their luggage. It wasn’t hard to spot, and Junhyung pulled it off the belt before they had to wait for it to make another round around the belt.

“Let’s go?” Junhyung asked, eager to just get back to their own home.

Hyunseung nodded in agreement, following Junhyung out of the arrival hall and finding their way to the taxi stand. Before they even found it, however, there was a loud “Umma! Appa!” and three seconds later a small body had launched itself at Hyunseung, arms wrapping tightly around the latter’s waist. “I missed you guys.”

“We missed you too, baby,” Hyunseung mumbled, trying hard not to cry. One week was really a long time for him to be away from his son, since the only other time they’d been apart was when Ilhoon had been kidnapped. Junhyung bent down, hugging Ilhoon tightly and sighing in relief. He’d been slightly worried that something would happen; life was unpredictable after all.

Hearing someone come towards them, Junhyung looked up to see a smiling Doojoon. “Welcome back!” the eldest exclaimed with a bright grin. Hyunseung raised a brow at his best friend. Doojoon wasn’t usually so… happy.

“What’s got you in such a cheery mood?”

Instead of replying, Doojoon whipped his phone out. “Say hi to Yoon Eunkwang!” he announced, turning the phone around to show the couple a picture of a tired Yoseob cradling a baby in his arms.

Hyunseung gasped in surprise, looking back up at Doojoon. “When?!”

“When you guys were in the plane, just last night!” Doojoon replied, sounding almost ecstatic.

“Congratulations!” Hyunseung nearly squealed, throwing his arms around Doojoon. “Oh my god, we have to visit them!” he gushed, turning to look at his husband.

Junhyung chuckled and nodded, holding onto Ilhoon’s hand. “I’m assuming Doojoon drove here?”

“Of course! Let’s go, let’s go!” Doojoon said excitedly, already heading to the car park.

Junhyung looked at Hyunseung, an amused smile on his face, before looking down at his son. “Did you see Eunkwang yet?”

Nodding furiously, Ilhoon replied, “Yup! He was so tiny!”

Hyunseung, who had been following closely behind Doojoon, glanced back at his family. “Are you guys planning on coming or what?”

“Coming!”

---------------------------

Half an hour later found the group of four in the hospital, looking in the nursery and spotting the baby swaddled in blue, with the tag ‘Yoon Eunkwang’ at the foot of the crib. The new-born was sleeping soundly, unaware of the fact that his father was there to see him.

Doojoon spotted one of the nurses he recognised, stopping her and asking if he could have Eunkwang for a bit. She gladly obliged, quietly wheeling the crib out and reminding Doojoon to inform a nurse if he wanted to keep Eunkwang in Yoseob’s room for the night. Thanking the nurse, Doojoon gestured for his friends to follow him to Yoseob’s room, a wide grin on his face just from seeing his baby.

They entered Yoseob’s room slowly, quietly, not wanting to wake the other male up. He was probably still exhausted from giving birth, after all. However, the moment they stepped in with Eunkwang, they were greeted with a rather loud “Eunkwangie!” from the twins.

“So much for being quiet,” Hyunseung muttered under his breath. Doojoon shrugged, long used to his daughters’ loudness and inability to be calm for more than a minute. Eunkwang, on the other hand, was obviously not used to his sisters, and had woken up with a loud wail.

“Didn’t umma tell you two to be quiet?” Yoseob chided gently. It was only natural to be excited, seeing their baby brother for the second time, but still. Then, looking at his husband, he said, “Pass him to me?”

Nodding, Doojoon picked the crying baby up and passed him to the younger male. Yoseob bounced his son in his arms, murmuring “Shh. Don’t cry, baby.”

“Sorry umma,” the twins apologised guiltily.

Ilhoon walked to stand beside the bed, looking at Eunkwang with wide eyes. The crying had mostly quietened down, and Eunkwang was slowly beginning to fall back asleep. “Can I carry him?” Ilhoon asked, his voice no louder than a whisper, because he didn’t want to make Eunkwang cry again.

Yoseob glanced at Junhyung, wondering if he should entrust his best friend’s son with his one-day-old baby. “Maybe if you sit on the chair and let your umma help you,” he decided, just slightly hesitantly. It wouldn’t be funny if Ilhoon dropped his son. Not funny at all.

While Jihyun and Sohyun let out sounds of protest, Ilhoon climbed up into the chair excitedly and waved Hyunseung over. Chuckling, the latter went to stand beside the chair, positioning Ilhoon’s arms properly before Yoseob put the sleeping baby in Ilhoon’s arms. The boy’s eyes widened even more, and he looked down at the baby in awe. “Wow…” he mumbled. “If only I had a baby brother.”

At this, Doojoon almost burst out loud in laughter. Even Yoseob was snickering slightly, as Hyunseung reddened and Junhyung smirked to himself. “Ilhoon-ah, it’s only a matter of time,” Doojoon told the boy, shooting Hyunseung a knowing look. “Someone’s been working hard.”

“It almost looks like you have rashes or hives,” Yoseob joined in, watching in enjoyment as Hyunseung became even redder. Then, looking at his best friend, he asked, “What’re you laughing at? You look like you got attacked by bees.”

The kids looked at their parents in confusion, unable to understand what the adults were saying. Ilhoon was excited about the prospect of having a younger sibling though. And if Uncle Doojoon was telling him the truth, then he was definitely looking forward to his sibling’s arrival.

“T-that’s enough from you two,” Hyunseung managed to stutter out, taking Eunkwang from his son and passing the baby back to his mother. “I’m tired! Junnie, let’s go already.”

Ilhoon pouted upon hearing this, turning to look at Hyunseung. “But umma, we’ve only been here ten minutes!” he whined, somehow managing to still keep his volume down.

Hyunseung sighed, glancing at the clock in the corner of the room. “But we have to unpack our stuff and eat dinner, Ilhoonie,” he told his son. Looking at the boy’s reluctant expression, he eventually caved and said that Ilhoon could stay at the hospital with the others while he and Junhyung went home to unpack. “We’ll pick you up for dinner later.”

“Ok!” Ilhoon agreed, without a second thought. Hyunseung almost wanted to roll his eyes at his son; was he not excited to finally spend some time with his parents, after one whole week?

Junhyung grabbed Hyunseung’s hand, saying “See you guys later then,” before leaving with the elder male. They probably had a lot to unpack and wash, despite having done some of their laundry back in Venice. Hyunseung waved, asking his son to behave, and followed Junhyung back to the car.

---------------------------

That night, the couple finally lay down in their own comfortable bed, getting ready to sleep after returning from dinner and taking a well-deserved shower. Hyunseung couldn’t help but feel completely at peace and extremely content as he snuggled with Junhyung. They’d just come back from their honeymoon, and tomorrow would mark the official first day of their lives together.

When he thought about it, their love story was really something. It definitely didn’t start off conventionally, what with Junhyung robbing Hyunseung at the store and subsequently injuring him. It was only a few days later that they met again, and then Hara came into the picture. Hyunseung sure as hell didn’t think that Yoseob had been sent to work at the store because of Junhyung, and who would think that Doojoon would end up together with Yoseob within a week?

And then he graduated and somehow, he and Junhyung got together despite the younger having a girlfriend. Everything happened so quickly from there – breaking up with Hara, getting revenge on Jiyong, their first date. Suddenly he and Yoseob were pregnant, and boy had the latter been mad. It was only after they found out about Yoseob’s past that Doojoon and Hyunseung truly understood how afraid the younger male had been.

Just a little over a month after finding out about Ilhoon, Jaewon came along, threatening the couple because of Hara. Hyunseung had been scared, but he thought that he would have Junhyung with him no matter what. But two months later and the younger had disappeared without a trace. Waking up alone like that was terrifying, and sometimes Hyunseung still had nightmares about that day. He was pregnant, and so, so alone.

Almost losing Ilhoon had been probably the worst thing that’d happened to him; how had he almost lost their miracle? As if that wasn’t bad enough, Hyunseung eventually went into premature labour, yet another nerve-wrecking period of time for the male. But Ilhoon made it, coming out stronger than ever and Hyunseung had never been gladder.

It had taken seven long years before Junhyung finally came back, from prison of all places. Hyunseung had been elated, and thought that maybe he was finally getting the happy ending that he deserved. Jaewon came back into the picture then, kidnapping Ilhoon and starving him. Hyunseung had been so worried, even more than when he’d nearly miscarried. Somehow their little family of three made it, and a few months later he was getting married to the love of his life.

An unbelievable story was what they were. And Hyunseung was proud of the fact.

“Seungie, are you asleep?” Junhyung mumbled, snapping the elder out of his thoughts.

“Yeah. I was just thinking about us,” Hyunseung replied, smiling as he felt Junhyung’s arms tighten around his waist protectively. He could take care of himself perfectly fine, had done so for seven years, but it was nice to have someone who cared so much about him.

“What about us?”

“You know. How we got together, what we’ve been through.”

“You mean me stalking you?” Junhyung laughed, remembering just how ridiculous it had been. He, who hadn’t known how to love, had unknowingly fallen for Hyunseung.

Hyunseung let out a chuckle of his own. “There’s that. Never thought we’d be married eight years later, though,” he said thoughtfully. With how they started off, it was normal for Hyunseung to doubt that they’d stick together through everything.

“I’m hurt that you ever doubted me,” Junhyung feigned sadness. “But what can I say? You make me a good man, Seungie-ah.”

At this, the elder smiled to himself. “I know. I love you. Now let’s get to sleep.”

Humming in reply, Junhyung said, “I love you too. Goodnight.”

And the couple finally went to sleep, more than ready to spend their forever with each other, starting tomorrow.
