Partying

You Make Me A Good Man

(Continued)

Hyunseung and Junhyung sat down by the lake just like two days ago. Junhyung asked Hyunseung about his university days and Hyunseung was more than glad to tell the former about it. He started from how he met Dongwoo and Howon, two of his good friends in university. He managed to catch the jealousy that flashed in Junhyung’s eyes and gave himself a mental pat on the back. I knew that he was jealous! I should have seen it before!

He then elaborated about moving into an apartment with Doojoon because it was convenient for both of them, just because he liked to see Junhyung jealous. He’s cute when he’s jealous, Hyunseung thought with a soft smile. He didn’t think that he would be the one to see Junhyung’s true feelings – sadness, anger, happiness, jealousy, and maybe even a hint of love.

Hyunseung talked for so long, droning on and on about his endless dance projects and annoying lecturers, he and Junhyung didn’t even realise when their thirty minutes passed. Their packet of bread crumbs was long empty and there was hardly anyone in the park when they finally realised the time.

“Can you continue tomorrow?” Junhyung asked, looking at Hyunseung hopefully. He had heard all about what university was like from Yoseob, but the way Hyunseung described his university life gave Junhyung mixed feelings. He was jealous of Hyunseung’s close friends, amused by how the elder would be annoyed by his lecturers, happy that he enjoyed life in university. But he was also a little sad, because he never got a chance to experience that. He didn’t remember feeling all that when Yoseob talked to him about university.

Hyunseung nodded immediately and Junhyung stood up, holding a hand out. Hyunseung took it naturally and Junhyung pulled him up. They kept their hands intertwined as Junhyung disposed of the empty packet, and they made their way to the meeting point.

By that time, however, the other four were already frantically searching for Hyunseung and Junhyung. Doojoon couldn’t help but be worried that Junhyung did something to his best friend. After all, Junhyung was still a criminal. He didn’t really absorb what Yoseob was telling him; his best friend’s life might have been in danger. Yoseob just gave in and helped to look for the two.

Hyunseung and Junhyung looked at each other when they reached the meeting point.

“I can’t believe they left without us,” Hyunseung huffed.

“Maybe not. Try calling them,” Junhyung suggested, already pulling his phone out. Hyunseung puffed his cheeks up and nodded, dialling Doojoon’s number automatically. When his call got through before Junhyung’s, Hyunseung put the call on speaker mode.

“Hyunseung? Where the hell are you?” Doojoon asked, sounding panicked. Hyunseung raised his brow at Junhyung and the latter merely shrugged in response. Sighing, Hyunseung shook his head. He knew that Doojoon must have been overreacting. Again.

“I’m at where we’re supposed to meet. I guess we lost track of time. Sorry,” Hyunseung apologised. He heard a huge sigh of relief and rolled his eyes, able to figure out what exactly his best friend had thought. They weren’t best friends for nothing. Of course Hyunseung knew how Doojoon’s brain worked.

“He probably thought you wanted to kill me,” Hyunseung whispered with a snort. Junhyung could only chuckle in response. How ridiculous could a person be? Junhyung didn’t know, and he definitely didn’t want to know.

“We’ll be back in a minute,” Doojoon replied and hung up. Hyunseung looked at his phone for a few seconds before sliding it back into his pocket and turning to Junhyung. The younger male had an amused expression on his face and Hyunseung pouted.

“Is it my fault that Doojoon doesn’t think straight?” he questioned.

“Hmm… I don’t know, maybe?” Junhyung teased, laughing when Hyunseung hit him. At that, Hyunseung stopped dead in his tracks. Junhyung laughed. It was a real laugh, not a chuckle. Earlier on when I asked if he was jealous of Geurim, his laughter was a little forced. But now, this… he’s really laughing.

Hyunseung couldn’t help but be shocked. Not only had Junhyung , he had even laughed. He didn’t recall a single time when Junhyung laughed, definitely not like how he just did. Hyunseung bit his lip to prevent himself from smiling too widely. How could he not be happy? The person he was in love with was probably in love with him, and he managed to find out so much about this person in such a short time. Apart from that, he even had the privilege to hear the guy’s beautiful laughter, which he knew that few would have heard before.

Junhyung’s laughter died off when Hyunseung stopped hitting him. He was even more confused when the elder began to bite on his lower lip while smiling. “Hyunseung, you ok?” Junhyung asked, feeling just that bit worried.

Hyunseung broke out of his thoughts and nodded. “It’s just that you…” he didn’t have a chance to finish his sentence as he heard his name being called out, by Doojoon, no less. Hyunseung groaned and turned around, very unhappy that his alone time with Junhyung was over just like that.

“You can tell me later,” Junhyung assured. Hyunseung turned back and smiled at Junhyung, nodding as he did so. Junhyung felt his heart beating faster, just like how it would every time he was out with Hyunseung alone. He was definitely in love, and he couldn’t deny it anymore.

Doojoon inspected Hyunseung for any injuries and heaved another sigh of relief when his friend was safe, apart from his still-injured wrist. The others soon returned and they headed back to the hotel together.

-------------------

“I believe dream for you and me,” Yoseob sang with Doojoon. Gikwang and Dongwoon were choosing a song while Hyunseung and Junhyung just sat at the side. It wasn’t as if they didn’t want to party, but both were still upset that their privacy was non-existent at the moment. Junhyung suddenly remembered something and turned to Hyunseung.

“Were you fine eating earlier on? I forgot about the injured wrist for a moment there,” Junhyung confessed, feeling bad. Hyunseung waved it off, saying that he would survive without help. Then, in a smaller voice, he said that it would have been better if Junhyung had fed him. Junhyung felt a smile creep up onto his face and before he knew it, he was grinning.

Junhyung was about to reply when Gikwang and Dongwoon suddenly pulled the two of them to the centre of the room. They shoved two microphones into their hands and played the song. Hyunseung and Junhyung blinked at each other in surprise, letting the familiar tune of the song wash over them. Only then did Hyunseung get comfortable enough to sing and he realised why their friends were forcing them to sing that particular song.

“Nothing better than you, if something offers me the world, you, you, you, you, I couldn’t trade it for you,” Hyunseung sang, meaning every single word.

Junhyung relaxed as well and sang along. When you are having hard times, anytime I’ll be there, come to me anytime and come into my arms, just close your eyes and listen to my words,” Junhyung looked into Hyunseung’s eyes as he sang, allowing Hyunseung to see how he truly felt.

“Nothing better than you, no one can stop me, you, you, you, you, the way my heart feels towards you,” Hyunseung continued, his heart pounding against his chest. He was somewhat thankful to Gikwang and Dongwoon for this. After all, it wasn’t everyday that he could sing with Junhyung and actually pour his feelings out while doing so.

“I’m the one who wouldn’t regret using 24 hours in a day just for you. Just take my hand and fly,” Junhyung rapped with ease. It was true, he realised. He really wouldn’t regret spending a whole day just for Hyunseung. He didn’t even realise the extent of his feelings for Hyunseung until then.

The two stopped singing and began walking towards each other. Their four friends looked on in anticipation, already holding their 20,000 won in their hands. They each prayed hard that they would win the bet. Either way, the important part was the confession and they wouldn’t want to miss it.

“Actually, I-”

“I have something to-”

Hyunseung and Junhyung chuckled. The four friends groaned at the sappiness.

“You go first,” Hyunseung decided. Junhyung frowned and shook his head.

“Nah. You first,” Junhyung said. Crouched behind the couches, Doojoon rolled his eyes.

“This is like a sitcom,” Doojoon pointed out. The others nodded in agreement.

“Just get on with it!” Dongwoon hissed. He was hit by Gikwang for being a little too loud, but it seemed that neither Hyunseung nor Junhyung had heard it. They were so absorbed in their own world that they probably forgot the existence of their friends.

“Alright. Actually, I… do you remember how we first met?” Hyunseung asked. Junhyung nodded. “The only thing I thought of wasn’t that you were holding a knife against my neck, but it was that you were the most handsome person I’ve ever seen,” Hyunseung admitted, blushing slightly.

“I didn’t just rob you for nothing. I saw you on the streets and something just possessed me. I knew that I had to find out all about you,” Junhyung confessed sheepishly. Hyunseung looked horrified for a moment before he laughed.

“About just now, I was so shocked because you laughed,” Hyunseung said with a grin. Junhyung suddenly realised that he actually had laughed. It wasn’t the forced laughter that he usually laughed, or the small chuckle that would escape every now and then. It had been a genuine laugh.

“I just feel happy around you, Hyunseung. What I’m trying to say is that I like you. No, wait. I love you,” Junhyung told Hyunseung truthfully. “You don’t even know how I felt when you pecked me on the cheek the other day.”

Hyunseung scoffed. “And you decided that you could just peck me like that too? But yes, I love you too,” Hyunseung replied shyly. Junhyung walked forward and pulled Hyunseung into a hug, pressing their foreheads together. “Does this mean that we’re together now?” Hyunseung asked in a small voice.

Junhyung nodded with a smile. “I think it does.”

And then they kissed on the lips and nothing had ever felt so right.

-------------------

Behind the couch, Dongwoon and Doojoon were smirking victoriously as they collected their money. They hi-fived each other and turned to the other two. “Hey, you do know that I’m spending this money on our next date right?” Doojoon asked when he saw how upset Yoseob was. Yoseob’s eyes immediately lit up and he nodded.

Gikwang merely sighed and he was smiling again. “Let’s bring these out,” he told Dongwoon, pointing at the crate of beer. Dongwoon nodded and they carried the crate out together. Hyunseung and Junhyung jumped when they heard Gikwang and Dongwoon.

“You were there the entire time?!” Hyunseung shrieked. The couple shrugged and nodded. They easily opened a few bottles of beer and handed one to each person. Doojoon and Yoseob came out from behind the couch as well, and they toasted to Hyunseung and Junhyung’s confession.

It took a short half hour for everyone to get drunk as they talked. Junhyung admitted that he was a robber when asked, and KiWoon weren’t even surprised. Dongwoon was so intoxicated that the shock didn’t register in his mind, and Gikwang had already guessed as much.

Another bout of karaoke and drinking went on and by the time it was almost midnight, most of them didn’t even know what was going on. Junhyung and Gikwang, the more experienced drinkers, were still somewhat conscious. The other four were just singing like there was no tomorrow. Gikwang passed a set of keys to Junhyung with a smirk.

“Room 39, on the third floor. Take care of Hyunseung hyung,” Gikwang instructed. Junhyung stared at the set of keys, realising what Gikwang was telling him. He sent Gikwang a grateful smile and pulled Hyunseung up, leading the elder male to the lift carefully. Gikwang smiled and went to find his drunken boyfriend. He always loved to have with a drunken Dongwoon.

In the lift, Junhyung toyed around with the set of keys. Is Hyunseung ready for this? I mean… we just got together, didn’t we? Even if he’s had feelings for me since two weeks ago, should I be doing this?

The lift stopped at the third floor and Junhyung brought Hyunseung to Room 39. He entered the room and saw that there was only one queen-sized bed. Junhyung looked around the room and thanked the heavens that there was a couch. If they weren’t going to do anything, then he definitely couldn’t stand sleeping with Hyunseung. His thoughts would run wild and who knows what could happen?

Junhyung was brought back to reality when lips were smashed against his own. Junhyung’s eyes widened in shock, but he relaxed into the kiss and began to respond as Hyunseung wanted him to. He nibbled on the elder male’s lower lip and slid his tongue into the elder’s mouth when he gasped. After a few minutes of tongue wrestling and mouth exploring, Junhyung broke the kiss to see Hyunseung, flushed and smirking.

“You honestly thought that I was drunk?” Hyunseung questioned. “I can’t believe you thought so lowly of my alcohol tolerance level. Or was my acting that good?”

Junhyung shrugged. “Your acting was amazing, of course. But that isn’t the point. You know why Gikwang wanted me to bring you here,” Junhyung pointed out. Hyunseung nodded and walked towards the bed, throwing himself onto it. Junhyung felt his mouth go dry as Hyunseung beckoned him over and he did as told.

“Do you really want this?” Junhyung asked after another heated kiss with Hyunseung. By now, Hyunseung was getting hard and he didn’t hesitate before nodding.

“You have no idea how much I want this,” Hyunseung said, already climbing onto Junhyung to undress him. Junhyung flipped their positions quickly and kissed Hyunseung once more, distracting the elder male as he removed the clothes from his body.

It doesn’t take a genius to know what happened after that.
