You Make Me A Good Man

(Continued)

Junhyung and Hyunseung were, surprisingly, the first couple on the roof. They went to purchase their love padlocks first and began to write stuff on it with a permanent marker, the same one that Junhyung bought to write on Hyunseung’s cast some time ago.

“Let’s see… what to write, what to write…” Hyunseung mumbled, plopping down onto the ground and not caring about the strange looks that people were giving him. Junhyung looked at his boyfriend in amusement, but joined him on the ground eventually.

“‘Love at first sight’?” Junhyung suggested. Hyunseung tapped his lips thoughtfully and grinned.

“Definitely love at first sight.”

Hyunseung took the permanent marker from Junhyung and concentrated on writing the words ‘Love at first sight’. It wasn’t much of a message but the couple knew that it would be etched in their minds forever. It was how both had fallen for each other, so it was the perfect phrase for them.

When Hyunseung put the marker down, Junhyung took the padlock and admired Hyunseung’s handwriting. “You have amazing penmanship,” Junhyung muttered. Hyunseung raised a brow to cover his embarrassment, feeling very flattered by Junhyung’s simple praise.

“Haven’t you seen my handwriting before?”

Junhyung shrugged. “I have, but I’ve never complimented you for it now have I?” Junhyung retorted with a silly smile, picking the permanent marker up from the ground and adding one last line to the love padlock – ‘Born again, still your lover’.

Hyunseung sighed contentedly for what seemed like the nth time that day and leaned against Junhyung, waiting patiently for the other two couples to make their way to the rooftop.

Doojoon and Yoseob were spotted first and Hyunseung narrowed his eyes at his best friend. Junhyung, not having seen the couple, followed Hyunseung gaze and saw that a sleeping Yoseob was being piggybacked by Doojoon.

“What’s with Seob?” Junhyung asked.

“I don’t know, but Doojoon better not have done anything to him,” Hyunseung warned in a low voice. In the past month of knowing the baby-faced male, Hyunseung had become a sort of mother figure for him. Of course there was a lot of playful banter between all six of the employees, but Hyunseung had taken to looking over Yoseob like a mother would. Hyunseung didn’t like to see Yoseob hurt in any way and it looked as if Yoseob had cried. How could Hyunseung tell? Who knows?

Doojoon walked over to where Junhyung and Hyunseung were sitting and set Yoseob down on the ground gently, sitting down beside him immediately so that Yoseob could lean against him. Hyunseung gave Doojoon a deathly glare that made Doojoon shiver involuntarily. “What?”

“What’d you do to my son?” Hyunseung hissed. Doojoon looked incredulous, as did Junhyung.

“If you’re Seob’s umma, I would be his appa. Don’t give me weird images like that,” Junhyung groaned. He didn’t want to think of his best friend as his son because his boyfriend thought so. It was strange in so many ways.

“When did you even become his umma?” Doojoon demanded.

“That isn’t the point! What’d you do to Seobie?” Hyunseung questioned. Doojoon looked guilty and bit on his lower lip, refusing to meet Hyunseung’s gaze because he already felt bad about it. His earlier confusion about when Hyunseung even became Yoseob’s umma had all turned into guilt, in just a few seconds.

“I kind of made him cry just now, because he ditched me for Miss A,” Doojoon admitted in a small voice. At that same time, Yoseob yawned and stretched and rubbed his eyes, blinking groggily at the three and smiling lightly.

“What’d I miss?”

Hyunseung instantly lost his anger and softened, returning Yoseob’s smile with one of his own. “It’s nothing. Seobie, did you cry?” Hyunseung asked gently. Doojoon couldn’t help but gape at the sudden change in Hyunseung’s attitude and wondered why his best friend always treated him so badly. Nonetheless, he watched Yoseob carefully for any signs of wanting to cry again.

“Yeah, because Doojoonie got mad at me. I ditched him for Miss A though, so he’s fully justified,” Yoseob explained, knowing very well that Hyunseung had some sort of protective mother complex whenever it came to him. Hyunseung nodded in understanding and turned to Doojoon.

“Well fine, you’re forgiven.”

Yoseob and Junhyung couldn’t help but laugh at Doojoon’s dumbfounded expression, both turning to each other and laughing even harder. Doojoon only sighed.

“My boyfriend and best friend hate me.”

At that, Hyunseung snickered.

-------------------

After the original fuss over Yoseob, Doojoon had gone to purchase a love padlock for him and Yoseob quickly, only having another fifteen or so minutes before the fireworks would begin. By then, Dongwoon and Gikwang had joined the two couples on the roof.

“Dongwoon, you just woke up too?” Junhyung questioned. Dongwoon let out a small yawn and nodded, stretching his still-tired limbs.

“We went to a street nearby for our date and I was just tired,” Dongwoon replied. Doojoon returned with the padlock and borrowed the permanent marker, pulling Yoseob to the side so that they could write something on their padlock.

“What’d you do?” Hyunseung asked curiously. It wasn’t like his date wasn’t amazing; it was the best date he’d ever gone on so far. But still, they had been betting on who would have the most fun date. Each couple had betted for themselves to have the most fun date, which kind of defeated the purpose of betting in the first place, but they couldn’t care less.

“We played at the arcade, went to a café, ate takoyaki, took neoprints, bought a couple tee, and ate ice-cream. I caught an owl plushie for Kyung, too!” Gikwang exclaimed. Junhyung tensed a little at the mention of the person from his past, but he knew that Gikwang couldn’t have been referring to the same Kyung. He’s dead, anyways.

Gikwang and Dongwoon proceeded to showing off their new couple tee and their neoprints, because they clearly couldn’t have brought their coffee or ice-cream to the roof. “The owl plushie’s in the car already,” Dongwoon added.

Junhyung tuned out of the conversation right after Gikwang finished telling him and Hyunseung what they did on their date. Kyung was already off his mind, and in his place was their date. A smile tugged at Junhyung’s lips as he remembered the number of times he and Hyunseung said ‘I love you’ to each other in the short date, and the skinship, and everything else.

We definitely had the most fun date ever.

“Junnie?” Hyunseung asked, snapping his fingers in front of his boyfriend. Junhyung blinked back to reality and raised a brow. “Why don’t you have the honours of telling them about our date?”

Junhyung grinned and recounted the date perfectly.

“I sang a couple songs to Seungie-”

“A couple? Try ten.”

“And then, we watched a movie in which Seungie initiated skinship more than a couple times.”

“Yah! They didn’t need to know that!”

“And then we went to a café and…”

“Junnie was so sweet! He made cappuccino and pretzels in the shape of 1, 4 and 3, which meant ‘I love you’!”

“Stop interrupting me already, Seungie-ah.”

Hyunseung pouted and Junhyung kissed the pout off his boyfriend’s face before continuing.

“After the café, we went to the park and Seungie said something very, very suggestive to me.”

“Can you stop embarrassing me?”

“And here we are, with Seungie hitting my arm and me embarrassing him to no end,” Junhyung ended the recount, holding Hyunseung’s wrist to prevent the elder from hitting him anymore than he already had. Hyunseung was blushing furiously with all the things that Junhyung had said, and his way of getting rid of his embarrassment was hitting Junhyung.

“That sounds awesome! You two make such a sweet couple, I just can’t,” Dongwoon cooed. Hyunseung grinned and took his phone out of his pocket, going to his photo gallery and selecting the picture he had taken of the cappuccino and pretzels.

“Look at this! It tastes great, too,” Hyunseung stated proudly, showing the picture to Gikwang and Dongwoon. Both of them cooed and Junhyung felt just a little shy.

“Gikwang has never been sweet like that, but he’s not romantic so it’s better if he doesn’t try,” Dongwoon said, sticking a tongue out at his boyfriend. Gikwang looked mildly offended but said nothing about anything, settling with a roll of his eyes.

“I hate to admit it, but it seems that you guys had a more fun date than us,” Gikwang sighed.

Hyunseung grinned victoriously and leaned towards Junhyung.

“We’re about to get a hundred thousand won richer.”

------------------

Doojoon and Yoseob sat down by the side, not wanting to return to their group of friends just yet. The two had thoughtful looks on their faces, both thinking about what they wanted to write on the small padlock.

Then Yoseob snapped his fingers and snatched the marker up from the floor, hurriedly writing something on the padlock. When he was done, he put the marker down and let Doojoon see what he had written. Doojoon would never say it out loud, but his heart melted into a puddle of goo when he read what Yoseob wrote.

‘You rock my world like no one else.’

Doojoon picked the marker up and stuck his tongue out in concentration, thinking hard about what he should write. His face lit up when he thought of what he wanted to write and immediately penned it down on the padlock.

“‘And you’re all I could ever ask for’. Doojoonie…” Yoseob trailed off with a loving smile.

Before Doojoon could reply, the PA system sounded. “The fireworks will be starting in five minutes.”

“Let’s get back and find the others,” Doojoon suggested, grabbing the padlock, marker and most importantly, Yoseob’s hand. They walked back to where the other four were sitting and plopped down beside them.

“What’d you guys do for your date?” Gikwang asked immediately.

“We would have watched a movie but the cinema was under renovations. So Seobie went to freak over Miss A and I got angry and yelled at him. After making him cry, I bought him comfort food and bought clothes and ate ice-cream. The clothes are going to be collected later, if you’re wondering. Then we took a walk in the park and here we are now,” Doojoon recounted.

Dongwoon gasped. “Hyung, you made him cry?”

Doojoon groaned in exasperation. “Yes, I did alright? I was jealous of Miss A, happy?”

“Stop blaming him,” Yoseob whined.

“Fine, fine,” Dongwoon said.

“The fireworks are starting in a minute.”

The bickering stopped right away and all six of them focused their attention on where the fireworks were supposed to be. Sixty seconds passed and right on the dot, fireworks started exploding in the evening sky.

“Whoa…” Doojoon muttered, captivated by the dazzling array of fireworks colouring the sky.

The fireworks spelt out ‘Happy White Day!’ and Dongwoon couldn’t help but wonder how exactly they could do that. The fireworks continued exploding in the sky for another five minutes, and none of the six could take their eyes off the fireworks. It was only when the fireworks ended did they stand up and walk along the fence where all the love padlocks were placed.

“Where’d we put our love padlock the other time?” Gikwang asked, trying to find their padlock.

“Here!” Dongwoon said confidently, having spotted the padlock for a brief moment.

He held the padlock and read their message. “‘You’re my first and last love. Because you’re worth it. Gikwang ♥ Dongwoon.”

The other two couple decided to place their padlocks at the same place as Gikwang and Dongwoon’s, locking the padlock at the same area of the fence before pulling the keys out simultaneously and throwing them away.

The three couples stood in a row, admiring the night scenery of Namsan Tower. The comfortable  silence was broken when Yoseob’s stomach grumbled.

“Dinner, anyone?”

Everyone laughed at Yoseob and nodded in agreement.

“Yeah, let’s go get dinner.”

Their first triple date together would be remembered by all three couples forever, they would ensure it.

If anyone’s wondering about Kyung, I meant Kyungsoo from EXO. The Kyung from Junhyung’s past will be revealed in the bonus chapter! (it’ll probably be up by tonight XD)

Ok, I have no time to leave a usual A/N but I'm sorry for the lack of fluff and the crappy ending D;

I'll see you guys next week!
