Chapter 49

“You seem cheerful tonight,” Yunho asked his son seeing a slight smile but what he didn’t expect was it to disappear as soon as he walked into the living room. His son was holding one of his baby album, “Thinking of your Umma again?” Yunho asked him sitting across for him. Changmin closed the book. “Changmin it’s okay to think about him,” Yunho told him, “If I know your mom, he’s probably thinking about you right now.”

“Doesn’t that just make it all worse?” Changmin asked, “Appa I think you should go to Umma.” he took a deep breath, “Appa, Umma all alone out there, what if he needs us?” Changmin looked out the window into the night.

“Changmin,” Yunho knew it was hard on his son, but it wasn’t only hard on him, not a day went by he hadn’t thought about Jaejoong, the feeling of having him close. Sharing their bond together. Hearing Jaejoong in his head… since the day everything change throughtout the night they had been apart Yunho could only think of the fight they had before everything changed. It would be a lie to say he didn’t miss him, Jaejoong was everything to him.

“I miss Umma?” Changmin told him.

“I do too, but this is for the best…” Yunho inch forward and placed his hand on Changmin’s knee.

“Don’t call me that…” he moved away from his father, “Umma always calls me that, can’t I just talk to him even if I can’t see him?” Although he did want to see his mother, he dread the thought that he would hurt him again.

“Changmin I don’t even know where he is! Jae chooses to leave this house so we could come back here. He wanted this place to be our home. “He looked around, “This place has so many memories of him.” Yunho smiled as he thought about it. Jaejoong smiling face when he would walk into the kitchen when he was eating, their bedroom where the spent the early hours of the morning cuddling like there was no tomorrow.

“Come on, we got to start today training.” Yunho got up, talking about Jaejoong always made him upset though he doesn’t show it. He remembered the years when he had no one, the year it was just him.
