Chapter 16

Yunho’s eyes blazed, Over the ringing in Jaejoong's ears, Jaejoong heard a growl rumble in his chest. “Bring her here.”

“Y-Yunho y-you w-won’t?”

 “Here, I said!” his voice rasped hoarsely, Jaejoong had trouble understanding his words. Still squeezing the gun in his right fist, though he wasn’t sure if he knew how to use it, Jaejoong hauled Yoona to her feet.

“You hear him, move!” Yoona staggered forward, Yunho’s hand lashed out to grab her wrist and jerked her to the ground in front of him. A cry burst from Yoona's lips.

“Quiet!”

“Please don’t—”

“Quiet, I said!” Yoona whimpering trailed off, Yunho’s eyes drilled into hers. Hovering over them, with Yoona’s panting and Yunho breathing loud in her ear, Jaejoong decided he didn’t need the  gun anymore. He stuck it into his backpack thinking out of sight out of mind.

“ Yunho…. I’m sure she didn’t mean to do it… can you—”

“I believe she still doesn't,” He grabbed both of Yoona's hands, shifting his grip to hold his upper arms. She stared into his glowing eyes. After a few seconds, she swayed, her eyelids drooping, “You have questions to answer…” Yoona nodded, still kneeling on the grass, she hung ragdoll limp in his grasp, all resistance melted away.

Surprised at the sudden firmness of Yunho's voice, Jaejoong said, “What did you do to her?”

“Borrowed some of her energy to supress the pain and bleeding,” Jaejoong shivered at the thought that he could drain someone’s life force through his hypnotic stare alone. “Now Yoona why did you try to shot us?”

“Not Jaejoong, just you. I didn’t want to hurt him.” Yunho glance at Jaejoong.

“Explains why you were able to disarm her so easily. She felt conflict to do so….” Jaejoong stared at him, “Her heart wasn’t in it to shoot you. Easy, huh? Jaejoong grumbled his head was throbbing, and his knees and elbows were bruised from the scuffle. Yunho turned back to Yoona and said, “ Why me, then? Did Seulgi order you to kill me?”

“Not kill… She knew—” Yoona panted “—knew I wouldn’t be able to anyway. Just to knock you out for a while.”

“Yes and then?” he prompted, giving her a brisk shake.

“Then I was suppose to go to her, but I don’t know exactly what she planned to do with you after that.”

“But when I questioned you earlier, I sensed you meant us no harm.”

“That’s right I don’t.” came the reply in a thread whisper. “I didn’t remember until just now. Then it came to me and I had to shoot you, but I didn’t want to.”

“Wait a second,” Jaejoonf said, “this is the weirdest part yet, is she saying Seulgi planted some kind of posthypnotic suggestion in Yoona's head to shoot you, and then made her forget about it?”

“Is that what happened?” Yunho asked her. Yoona nodded.

“I meant it when I asked you for help. For real I swear.” Jaejoong wrapped his arms around himself to keep himself from shaking.

“Seugli can do that….”

“With the blood bond between them, she could make the girl do or think almost anything,” said Yunho. “Yoona, listen to me, are you in mental contact with Seugli with at this moment?” Yoona shook her head, her pale blue hair tangled around her face.“Have you communicated with her in any way since you first met up with us?”

“Nooo!” the moan trailed off into a sigh.

Yunho hauled her to her feet. “We’d better get away from here before someone come along to investigate the disturbance.” Until that moment Jaejoong hadn’t realize that someone may have heard the gun shots. If they had, they must have mistaken the noice for a car backfiring or a neighbour’s tv.

“Yunho, You need to see a doctor…”

“No!” Yunho shouted making Jaejoong flinch, seeing Jaejoong's reaction he quieten his voice, “Have you forgotten what I am? I could mesmerize one at a time into ignoring my defences. Handling a whole ememergecy room… staff would take more energy than I can spare.”

“But the bullet….isn’t it still in your chest?”

“It’s didn’t hit any vital organs. It will work itself out within the next few weeks. Uncomfortable, but not a real problem, and I’ve temporarily supressed the pain, as just I said.” He silences Jaejoong attempt to protest with, “We have more important things to worry about at the moment.” At the car Yunho shoved
