Red Box
Changed By You
There was a pile of letters from fans inside a red box on his shelf. Henry didn’t know that Amber found out about that box when it fell on the ground once. She was searching for the cap Henry hid from her and found it placed on top of the shelf. She wasn’t tall enough to reach it, so she tiptoed, still couldn’t reach it, so she jumped and almost fell out of balance when she finally got the cap so she held onto the shelf. It moved a bit but she immediately pushed it towards the wall and the box fell.
Seeing the letters again, she grabbed a pen and bond papers from his printer and started writing.
She crumpled few papers since she misspelled a word or two but most of the time, she didn’t like the outcome of her letter. “Damn it!” She tore the paper, balled it up and threw it to the trashbin.
She even went out to a bookstore to buy envelopes. Returning to his apartment, she folded her letter and sealed the envelope and placed it among the others.

He just arrived home from the airport. He placed the letters from fans he received that day along with the ones inside the box. Too tired to put it back to the shelf, he left it beside his laptop on the table where he usually compose.
The next day, he was stuck on composing. He saw the box and decided to take a break and read some of the letters.
He was already on his 9th letter. He opened the cream envelope and begun reading the letter. He grinned to what the fan wanted to tell him or what the fan wanted him to know. There was no name written in the end though. He checked the envelope - front and back - maybe the fan wrote a name there but all he saw was his name.

When she came to visit him, he showed her the letter. She looked at it, “To whom this is from?” She thought it was a letter for her. “How did a letter for me was sent here?”
She was about to open the white envelope. “Did I left it here?” “It is actually mine. A letter from a fan.” She gave it back to him, “Then I shouldn’t read it then.” “I want you to.”
She took the letter out of the envelope. “Go on, read it.” He said. She unfolded the letter. “I want you to read it out loud for me.” She looked at him. “Suddenly forget how to read?” He teased. She started reading.
“Isn’t she sweet? She even said she loves me. My Number 1 fan.” Henry spoke after Amber read the letter. “Yeah, one of your wives is sweet.” “Is there anything else you want to tell me?” “Is there any other letter you want me to read?”
He gave her four other letters. But the four were in their original envelopes not like the latest letter that he placed it inside a white envelope instead of a cream envelope. He changed the envelope so when he gave it to her, she wouldn’t think of ways to not open it and read the letter, denying she didn’t write any letter to him.
“I say ‘Thank you’ to my fans when I receive letters from them. Sadly, the person who gave those five letters, I haven’t thanked her.” “How sure are you?” “Very.” “For sure, she isn’t mad about you not thanking her. She knows you read every letter from your fans.”
“I noticed you changed your handwriting for me not to figure out that it was you who sent those letters.” “How did you figure out?” “Because I know you. There is only one person that could say those words to me and that person is right beside me and will always be. Thank you, Amber.”
