Giving Two Gifts

3 - Her Pillow - A/N: Amber used Henry's arm as a pillow when they were taking a nap.
4 - Giving Two Gifts - A/N: Amber's 4 years old, Henry's 7 years old. There are new pairings and characters.
For these stories, I am not following Amber's and Henry's birthday month - September and October. (so please don't get confused with their ages in the stories.)
A half eaten doughnut on Amber’s hand, cheeks with crumbs and sugar, other hand holding a juice box, lips around the one end of the straw, Yoona stopped Amber from getting inside the mall’s toy store. She pointed at the sign - “No food and drinks inside.” She wiped Amber’s face with a tissue from her purse after Amber finished eating her doughnut, and drinking her juice. They walked towards a trash can and threw what was needed to be thrown away.
She watched Amber excitedly walk inside the store, “Be careful. You just ate and you might trip.” She touched her belly as Jonghyun and she entered the to store. Jonghyun went to where Amber was.
“Krystal!” Amber happily said, hugging her babysitter.
“Krystal, I didn’t know you’re working here.”
“I just started. Jessica told me the news. Congratulations.” She was talking about the newest addition to the family.
“Thanks.”
“Let me carry that for you.” Minhyuk offered to carry the box Krystal was holding as she talked to Yoona.
Carrying Amber as she was holding two plushies, Jonghyun stood beside his wife. “Mom, I already chose what I want to buy. I can’t decide which one. Can we buy both? Please.”
“Sure, Sweetie.”
“Yehey!” As Amber was putting the toys above the counter, she dropped the other one.
“Here, little girl.” Minhyuk picked it up since he was just placing some toys on the shelf nearby.
“Minhyuk.”
“Hi, Jonghyun. Nice seeing you again.” Minhyuk put the plushie near the cashier. “This must be Amber. Hello.” He shook her hand.
“Hello” Amber smiled at him.
“I am actually going to call you. A spot just opened in our band. We need a new drummer.” Jonghyun was still talking to Minhyuk.
“So he really left the band just like that.”
“What is left to do for the band is to move on without him.”
“Thanks for considering me to be the new drummer.”
“Tomorrow, 10 am, at Yonghwa’s. Don’t be late.”
“I won’t.”

Jonghyun put Amber down. “Stay here with Mommy, okay?” And he went outside to text Yonghwa that he already told Minhyuk the news. He looked around the area, waiting for Yonghwa’s reply. He saw two guys kissing. It was….
“Daddy” Amber ran towards him. Krystal was holding two colorful paper bags. “Amber, don’t forget your gifts.”
“Is that…?” Yoona also noticed the couple, immediately faced Krystal and Amber, so they couldn’t see the two guys. Amber was too young for that and she knew Krystal would get hurt knowing Kai was in a relationship with someone else.
Yoona looked at Jonghyun, “Leave us alone for awhile.” “Sure” Jonghyun nodded, carried Amber and went inside the store again.
Minhyuk was holding an empty box, he just finished restocking the shelves when he saw Krystal sad, talking with Yoona. “What’s happening?” He asked Jonghyun.
“You already knew.” Seeing Krystal’s reaction upon seeing Kai with Kyungsoo, Yoona concluded Krystal already knew about the relationship. “How did you know about them?”
“He’s ignoring at school so I went to his house to talk to him. His parents were going out at that time. They said Kai was in his room, studying so I went upstairs, and I heard his voice, and some other guy’s voice. I know what I heard, they were….you know.” Krystal bowed her head, hands covering her face. Yoona hugged Krystal who was like her little sister.

Minhyuk was keeping an eye on Krystal the whole time she and Yoona were talking.
Upon seeing Krystal by the entrance of the store, Minhyuk hugged her. “I don’t know why you’re sad, why you were crying, but I know you need a hug.” Krystal smiled, hugging him too.

“Bye, Krystal.” Amber waved at her babysitter. “Don’t be sad anymore, okay?”
“Bye, Minhyuk.” Amber smiled at her new friend.
The two bade goodbye to the kid and her parents.

Her bag over her shoulder, she saw Minhyuk wearing his jacket. “See you tomorrow,” heading to the door.
“It is not safe to walk alone.”
“Who says I will be walking alone?”
They just got off the bus, passing three bus stops from the mall. They were on their way to Krystal’s house. ““Whoever he is, he is stupid to hurt you. He should apologize over and over again for what he did.”
“They should have at least told me about their relationship.”
“So he cheated.”
“And he lied. I hate being lied to.”
“Is the other girl, your friend?”
“Actually it’s a boy.”
“Oh.”
“That was what I said the moment I saw them. Plus another word.”
“.”
They were walking by the park when he said that so, parents covered the ears of their children upon hearing the word.
“.”
“There are kids playing here, you know.” A mother shouted at them.
“Sorry.” Minhyuk spoke, loud enough for everyone to hear, before he and Krystal walked as fast as they could, laughing.
“Since that was what they were doing.’” Krystal whispered.
“Oh . You saw them.”

“Happy Birthday!” Amber gave her gifts to Henry.
“Thank you for the gifts, Amber.” He opened them in front of her. Her gifts were a hamster and a dog plushies.
“I gave you those since they remind me of you.”
Henry tried to look like the hamster plushie, “Really?”
“Especially the dog.”
“You always compare me to a dog.” He placed the dog near his cheek, “I don’t look like a dog.”
She pinched his cheek. “You’re cute like a hamster and a dog.”
“No. I’m handsome. Hen-some.”
“Hen-some... O...kay ” She pinched his other cheek. “Nah, still cute.”
“Wait here.” He ran to his room to get something.
He went back to the living room, hiding something at his back, “Close your eyes.”
While her eyes were closed, he felt something being placed on her head. “You can open them now.”
“It is your birthday but you are giving me a gift?”
“Consider that as my second birthday gift since you gave me two. Pink llama hat, I thought of you when I saw it. Hope you like it.”
“I love it.” She hugged him. “Thank you, birthday boy!”
