“Park’s boy? HA! Over my dead body!” Ji eun’s father started with a mocking tone, he looked directly into his daughter’s fierce eyes that were full of determination, he hated the Parks, they were his no.1 enemies in the business, and marrying his daughter off to one of them was absolutely forbidden.

“Dad, Mom, I’m not asking for your permission, the whole thing’s been decided and I guess as a 25 year old woman I have the legal right to marry who ever I want.” Ji eun answered with calmness and prude, ready to defend her cause till the end.

“Such a rude girl…” Her mother protested in disbelief. “… Where did I go wrong with raising you? I know, it must be that friend of yours, Yoona or whatever, such a spoiled brat, ruined all my hard work…” Her mother exclaimed in annoyance and disappointment, clicking her tongue at her daughter’s behavior. Ji eun on the other hand rolled her eyes at her mother’s ridiculous nonsense.

“It was your sister’s daughter who taught me how to fight back, Mom…” Ji eun answered in mockery and her mother’s eyes widened.

“That’s impossible, Krystal won’t do such thing! I raised her myself…” The woman protested.

“Well I guess you went wrong with both of us then.” Ji eun smirked at her mother’s reaction; her face paling was such a scene, eye candy.

“Back to my point…” Ji eun began again, turning her head to her father who was watching her with a confused and surprised stare.

“Like I said, we… Chanyeol and I… we arranged everything, his father even agreed for a partnership… I guess that would be a nice save after what Kris’s company did to ours, and may I recall that this marriage between me and Kris was all your idea… I mean, I guess you guys aren’t really qualified to decide my future based on the last experience.” Ji eun’s smirk widened in victory as both her parents’ eyes fell to the ground.

“I’m not going to let you marry him and that’s final, as long as you’re still under my roof, you’re in my charge, you can’t take any decisions without my approval.” Her father began again with a determined tone; it made Ji eun’s hands, which were rested on her lap, ball into tight fists. Plan B.

“Actually this is my roof Daddy…”

Both her parents looked at each other in confusion, then back at her.

“According to Mr. Xui, and the documents Luhan brought me, on my 21st birthday 53% of the stocks went to my bank account, plus the 12% I had, that makes it a total of 55%, that means 55% of everything we own, including the house, some of the cars, and I guess the company buildings here in Seoul and the ones in Canada…”

They stayed silent for a second, shocked out of their skin and unbelieving what their daughter was saying.

“I guess that also means that my vote in company meetings is very much effective, more effective than yours even… that makes me the center of power in the company…” She widened her smirk a bit as her hands relaxed.

“Giving by the meeting in the company today, which both of you didn’t attend, most of the board members agreed on the partnership… so…”

“So?” Her mother asked with a faint voice. Ji eun let out a small laugh as she looked away.

“Based on what Baekhyun told me, if you don’t support the partnership decision, you’re out.”

Her mother’s mouth fell agape, she looked at her husband in shock and was more surprised to see him absolutely clueless about all that.

“By Baekhyun you mean…?” Her father asked with a faint voice, keeping his eyes fixed on the carpet beneath his feet.

“Byun Baekhyun, CEO of Byun Motors, yup that’s him… I guess I forgot to tell you that he bought a few stocks from our company as well and that he’s contributing on some of our projects in China…”

“But no one can reach Byun that easy, he’s like the only man in the country who doesn’t meet his partners personally; I don’t even know how he looks like…” Her mother exclaimed in confusion.

“Well he happened to agree to help us with the machines we needed in China…” Ji eun chuckled at her mother’s reaction again.

“But how…?” Her father asked with disbelief.

“He’s the best man…”

Chanyeol waited impatiently outside the huge gates of Ji eun’s house. The latter kept walking back and forth with restlessness, not really optimistic about the ‘secret meeting to inform my parents’ that Ji eun was holding now with her folks. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust her, it was just a bit too soon and rushed.
