Chanyeol rushed out of the diner in an instant, only to find the spot where Kris was standing at empty, and Kris was nowhere to be found, like he just vanished into thin air.

Chanyeol could swear that he saw Kris standing outside of the small dinner that he and Ji eun were eating at, with a sickening smirk evident on his face. He also saw him focusing his stare on someone in the dinner after that, and when Chanyeol turned to see what he was looking at, his hands balled into fists out of anger as he realized Kris was staring at Ji eun, his Ji eun. He turned to glare at him, and Kris was back to smirking mockingly.

“Yah Park Chanyeol, you’re slowly losing your mind.” Chanyeol whispered to himself, still looking around for a certain blonde.

Chanyeol went back to the diner, taking out his wallet to pay for the food. He turned to look at Ji eun and found her staring outside the diner, zoning out at the sight of the sea. She looked so beautiful, so innocent, and just the idea of Kris glancing at her made Chanyeol’s stomach turn in disgust.

“So what now?” Ji eun walked with a bored expression plastered on her face as she and Chanyeol were walking along the shore. Chanyeol’s mind was still occupied with what he saw earlier, he thought about calling Baekhyun for help, but the latter must be tired from driving all morning, so he decided not to. He thought about calling Suho, but he knew that Kris’s name only brought pain upon the older latter.

Chanyeol sighed silently in frustration, and tried hard to brush the idea off his mind, but it was easier said than done. Every minute, an image of Kris staring at Ji eun would pop into his mind, making him shiver in discomfort, he took a glance at Ji eun who was staring at him with an annoyed expression, and he stopped in his track, pulling her for a tight hug.

Ji eun’s eyes widened, her arms plastered on her sides as she was engulfed into Chanyeol’s warm embrace. The gesture was sudden and unexpected, yet caring something that made her heart flutter in warmth and safety.

“What’s that for?” Ji eun’s voice was questioning, Chanyeol pulled from the hug to stare down at her.

“If you don’t like then, I’m sorry I’ll just…” Chanyeol was cut off as Ji eun pulled him even closer and buried her face in his chest, he let out a small chuckle at how cute she is, and he couldn’t deny that he felt a little happier that the latter didn’t want to pull away.

Minutes passed with them just standing in this position, Chanyeol brought his hand and caressed Ji eun’s head lightly, playing with her hair and smiling to himself. Ji eun enjoyed Chanyeol warmth silently, taking in his fresh scent, and smiling to herself at how good that felt.

“I’m sorry to break it to you, but I think we’re whipped.” Ji eun exclaimed, pulling away slowly. Chanyeol just chuckled at her statement.

Side by side, they walked to a nearby town. It was almost 3 pm and Ji eun was tired and hungry. The two latters have been walking aimlessly for hours as Chanyeol thought it was a good way to pass time. NOT!

“I’m hungry!” She exclaimed all of a sudden, and Chanyeol didn’t even seem to pay attention. Yes, Chanyeol was still thinking about that incident with Kris earlier, he just can’t let go of that so easily. He needed to make sure Kris was nowhere around them, that what he saw this morning was just his pure imagination, but how?

“Chanyeol? Are you listening to me?” Ji eun exclaimed loudly as she stopped in her track. Chanyeol blinked a few times, snapping back to reality, he looked down at Ji eun who was now eyeing him in curiosity.

“What? Sorry I was…” Chanyeol gave a sheepish smile, not really knowing what to say. Ji eun just rolled her eyes at that.

“Food Chanyeol! I’m hungry.” She exclaimed again, crossing her arms against her chest.

“Oh! Yeah, uh…” Chanyeol’s eyes wandered around the food stands and Kiosks around them, thinking of something good to eat. His eyes landed on a stand that offered dukbokki.

“Just wait here, I’ll be right back!” He flashed a small smile at her, and walked towards the stand. He felt a little uncomfortable about leaving her like that, but he needed to make a quick call like he decided earlier before Ji eun spoke.
