“Here you go…” Kris looked at Ji eun in a worried gaze as he handed her a Popsicle. They were seated on a bench facing the beach, it was almost getting dark, and Kris couldn’t just leave Ji eun alone. When he bumped into her earlier, the latter looked pretty upset, her tear stained face made him worry about her and he didn’t even know why. The girl had it in her, the ability to capture a person’s heart at the first meeting, her cute, childish features and her beaming yet mature and y personality made her even harder to resist.

“You okay?” Kris asked still not taking his eyes away from her. Ji eun kept her eyes on the ground, too drained out of energy to even speak. She just nodded lightly and put the Popsicle in , on it slowly. Kris swallowed a lump in his throat as he watched her pink, luscious lips around the orange Popsicle.

“Thank you for this.” Ji eun exclaimed in a low whisper, eyes still on the ground, and Kris could hear the pain in her voice. Hi smiled at her, and then his eyes wandered around, trying to distract himself from how beautiful she looked even though she was kind of miserable. He sighed silently trying to think of something to say to cheer her up, but nothing came to his mind.

Should he ask her why she’s like this? Should he ask why she was crying? He didn’t want her to get angry at him. And maybe she wouldn’t even feel comfortable to talk to him, but what’s wrong with trying right?

Kris cleared his throat and turned to look at her again, he opened his mouth, a bit hesitant at first, but then he spoke.

“Mind telling me what’s wrong? I know it’s none of my business and that you don’t know me so well, but maybe…” Kris stopped in his sentence, what the hell was he saying, he has no right to ask her that. Surprisingly, Ji eun lifted her stare from the ground and directed it to him, she seemed like she was thinking the matter through then she started to speak.

“I fell for this guy…” Ji eun started, and Kris wanted to kill himself right now. She fell for him already? Damn he’s too late.

“… I don’t think we can stay together. What hurts the most is that… I just found out he loves me back and… I really don’t want to leave him, but he won’t wait for me you know…” Ji eun’s face became even sadder if that was even possible, the wind blew some strands of hair on her face and Kris absentmindedly reached to brush them off, only to catch her stare. Their eyes locked for a few seconds, and Kris could see the pain in her stare, he suddenly felt sympathy for her.

“Why don’t you think he’ll wait for you?” He asked trying to find more details. He really couldn’t understand why he suddenly cared so much. Then again, ignoring his rough appearance, Kris always had a soft heart, one that cared for people even the ones he never knew. He wasn’t naïve, never, but he just cared too much for other people’s wellbeing.

“Because…” Ji eun stopped and bit her bottom lip, how could she explain the situation to him. Her eyes fell to her lap, and then she glanced up at him again, thinking of something appropriate to say.

“… Because I’ll only be allowed to see him every now and then; I don’t live in Seoul, so it’s gonna be hard to see him.” Nice lie, she thought.

“You said that guy already loves you?” Kris knew Chanyeol better than anyone, he knew how passionate he could get, and even though he never witnessed him falling in love (as he never actually did) he knew that Chanyeol would do whatever that was in his power to be with the girl he loves. He didn’t really know how to tell her that, but he wanted to reassure her so much, he had to think of someway.

“Yeah, I just found out…” Ji eun answered in a melancholic whisper, and Kris nodded.

“Then he’ll wait for you. He’ll wait for you no matter what, that’s how passionate ones love is Ji eun. You shouldn’t chicken out and start to cry, give yourself and him a chance, you don’t know, maybe it would work out.” Kris smiled warmly in a reassuring manner, and Ji eun could swear her heart skipped a beat upon seeing that. She only knew the guy like what, 30 minutes? But she felt that the smile he had plastered on his face was one of the most genuine and beautiful smiles she ever saw, one that made her heart melt from how warm it is.

“You think?” Her eyes started to sparkle in hope, and Kris’s smile widened at that. He nodded lightly and stared back at her, waiting for her to say anything. Ji eun kept silent for a few moments, thinking what he just said.

“You know, someone once told me that… Love… It’s about taking chances.” He whispered warmly and she found herself smiling at what he said.

“Thank you…” Ji eun was feeling a little better, she knew that she had a chaos to return to, she knew she had a lot of thinking to do, but at least she had hope, and she did want to take a chance.

“Now cheer up, you don’t even need to run back to him just yet! Let’s find something fun to do, get your mind off all of this, what do you say huh?” Kris started cheerfully and she couldn’t help but chuckle. Kris acted nothing like how he looked, and she liked that, he was really cold and rough from the outside, but somehow he seemed warm hearted and nice to her. She nodded enthusiastically, trying to push Chanyeol’s matter aside. It wouldn’t hurt to be selfish for half an hour, would it?

With that in mind, Ji eun followed Kris to God knows where, walking along the beach and talking about the most random stuff. It felt good, to be free, to suddenly be able to communicate with new people and talk to them about the most random things. Ji eun couldn’t help but feel lucky that she ran into Kris, because soon, Chanyeol was out of her mind only to be replaced by the thoughts of every fun thing they were going to do.

Ji eun was so happy and carefree, that she didn’t even notice how time slipped by, and she didn’t even care that maybe someone some were was in agony right now, waiting for the moment she’d step back home.

“I need to go look for her…” Chanyeol was freaking out; he was restless and was losing his mind slowly. It’s been almost 3 hours since Ji eun left and the latter hadn’t made her location known since then. All sorts of thoughts were running through Chanyeol’s mind, what if she was in danger?
