My Light
Le Mademoiselle and her ButlerMystery characters point of view:
She sat right in front of me, but i never had the courage to speak to her. She was always surrounded by loud people, so my soft, weak voice couldn't reach her. She is loved by many, and hated by none. If only i had a bit of her light, i would never ask for more. I often secretly watch her smile that glows along with her perfect smooth pearl white skin. Oh what perfectness... such natural beauty.
Just then i heard a scoff from one of the girls "What a "
I turned around in shock, couldn't believe what i just heard
"She's always sticking around our Yonghwa Oppa" another followed up, with the ugliest frown I've ever seen
"Even though they're cousins, there should be limits to how they stick together" another complained
"Should we teach her a lesson?" One of them smiled
Oh no.. what're they going to do to her?
As soon as they finished giggling one of them called out "Shinhye ah~" she called her with a fake high pitched voice
"Yes?" she answered
" We have something we want to show you! do you want to hang out with us later after school?" she pleaded with the fake-est tone imaginable. I clenched my fist, hoping that Shinhye would notice from her tone... her true intention
"Sure" she answered. And my heart dropped that instant. I turned to her, wanting to cry out, to tell her to decline the offer
"Then meet us up behind the school yard" they said in chorus
"Why there?" Shinhye asked
"Why not?" they replied "Anyway... see you after school chingu!" the three of them waved goodbye
I couldn't understand it it. How can they invite her with a smile? Well actually, never mind that. How can they even hate her? what has she ever done to them? My blood is boiling. Their fake attitude just disgusts me. If They were to hurt her... i can never let them do that!! "um... excuse me" i called them out as soon as they walked pass me
"Omo? who's that?" They turned around, hearing my call
"If..." i gulped, trying to calm myself down "If you hurt her, I-I won't forgive you!" i yelled, with my soft shaky
"Oh what's this? Why're you defending her?" one of them leaned closer threateningly
"I-I..."
"It's not like you're her friend, are you?" the one with neon green eyeliner pressured me
"It doesn't matter! i won't let you guys do as you want!" I yelled
"What's up with you? Don't you hate that too?" The one with heavy blush hissed
"Well, i thought everyone does. She's just an eyesore" another one with shiny bright lipstick followed up
I snapped. Scoffed at their comments and spoke up "What? Wait, wait... am i hearing things correctly? did you just call her a ?" i raised my head "She wears absolutely no make-up, yet she looks prettier than any of you standing right here in front of me" i grinned.
"Wh-what?" They raised their voice from embarrassment.
"heee? What's wrong? You can't talk back can you? Even your status's are far below hers, right?" i made fun of them.
Well, let me explain... I have a really bad habit. When i get too pressured or something precious to me is being hurt or made fun of, i transformed from my shy self, to an arrogant self. Adrenalin rush... i guess?
One of the girls who felt irritated walked closer and lifted up her hand, wanting to slap me. I closed my eyes, since i know I'm going to be slapped. but instead of a slap, i heard that girl groaned in pain.
I opened my eyes and looked up, wondering what caused her to do so. And there i find.. Shinhye, holding her hand tightly, and said "I was wondering what kept you guys for so long. I never thought that you all would be here, bullying a helpless girl"
I blushed, and stare in amazement. Couldn't believe that Shinhye helped me.
"You okay there?" she asked while extending her hand and patted my head. "you must be frightened" and gave me a warm smile
"Shin hye unni..." my face softened and i smiled back at her "I'm fine, thank you"
She looked at them and sighed. "I over heard the conversation earlier. Why didn't you guys just tell me straight forwardly?" She said with a grunt
"You- were always sticking around Yonghwa! acting all flirty, and clingy!" One of the girls yelled
Shinhye showed a disgusted face and said "Flirting? Me? With whom?"
"With Yonghwa!!" They all whined in chorus
Unexpectedly, she burst out with laughter, which left us confused. After she's finally done with her laughter she looked up, while wiping her tears "Yah... i don't know about you... But, who would want to flirt with that babo?"
"How can you call your own cousin a babo?" one of them asked
"I can call him whatever i want, it's none of your business" She replied back at her
The girl got token aback, unable to argue with her.
"But seriously, i think some huge misunderstanding is going on around here." She placed her hands on her hip "So let me clear things up. That 'Yonghwa' that you guys always pamper around, is not within my interest." She paused and think "He's just a cousin. Nothing more, nothing less" she answered
"Then don't stick to him all the time!" One of them said
"About that..."
*Suddenly appearing from behind* "That's my own choice"
"Y-yonghwa ah..." The girls sounded like they just lost their souls. I guess they didn't want to get on Yonghwa's bad side.
"Girls, do you mind if i take Shinhye home? her father is really worried about her coming home really late" he smiled sincerely at them
And just like that. Yonghwa was able to tame those tigers like kittens, they obeyed him and walked away. "You okay shinhye?" he turned around to ask her as soon as they're gone.
"Stop treating me like a child" she hissed. Wait... hissed? Shinhye... the perfect and gentle shinhye... hissed?
"What's the matter? are you sure you're okay?" She took a good look at me
I nodded
"Good. Then I'll be heading home" She smiled and waved at me. Ah... she's still caring and gentle.
Quickly, i tugged her shirt, and when she turned i asked "I.... can i be your friend?"
She stood silent for awhile, but then i can feel a tight, powerful hug "awwwww you're really adorable!" She squealed
I blushed then she said "Yes!! of course! why not?"
I... at that moment felt really happy. Even though i learned that she was not exactly the perfect Shinhye in my delusions, she's still beautiful, and shines in her own way.
"Right. i forgot to ask your name! what's your name?" she asked as soon as she lets go of her hug
"Sulli" I answered timidly
"Well, i guess you know who i am. But for the sake of formality I'll say it anyway! I'm Shinhye! Nice to meet you "
"And I'm Yonghwa. Nice to meet you" He bowed
"Nice to meet you too" i smiled at her
Shinhye's point of view:
We both then walked infront and Yongwa walks behind us. I noticed that he got a phone call but i couldn't care less. I just made my first friend after all!
Yonghwa's point of view:
"hello? Hyung are you there?"
"Yeah i'm right here."
"Report the situation"
"Nothing un usual. Many guys tried to hit on her, but they gave up as soon as she turned them down. No one's being suspiciously pushy.... yet"
" Alright. By the way hyung... you might wanna hurry ome. the master has been going back and forth worrying about Lady Shinhye..."
"Inform him that we're on our way home"
"Understood"
*hangs up*
"Whaaa??? not even one single boyfriend???" i heard her new friend squeal upfront. They turned around to me, telling me to mind my own business. I laughed at their weird and awkward reactions.
No Extremely annoying pest yet, and Shinhye just made a friend....
So far so good. I guess?
