When You’re His Choreographer and He Finds Out You Were Childhood Friends
Optional Bias ScenariosMusic pounded loudly in the practice room as you repeated a few steps from the choreography. Satisfied, you turned the stereo softer and waited for the group to arrive. You didn’t know much about the members, but had worked hard to choreograph the perfect dance for their new song.
A knock sounded on the door, and you opened it with a smile. The group’s manager greeted you warmly, and began to introduce you more formally to the members. You smiled at them, excited to teach the boys their new dance.
They were enthusiastic to learn it, shifting impatiently in place as you ran slowly through the steps. A few of the boys picked your instructions up quickly, while the others needed to repeat the movements once or twice. As they watched themselves in the mirror, your eyes met with one of the group members. He stared at you, a thoughtful expression marking his face.
You continued to help the group learn their choreography when a bright smile crossed his face.
“I know who you are! What kindergarten did you go to?” You looked to him with confusion.
“What?” You told him the school’s name, speaking the word with a question in your voice. He grinned.
“I knew it! We were friends, remember?” Squinting, you stared at him. With this new information, he began to look familiar in your eyes.
“I remember you! You look really different now!” He smiled, patting you on the back with a friendly laugh.
“You too! I can’t believe I didn’t realize it was you.” You shook your head, equally as surprised as he was. “Remember the time we got in trouble with my mom for that thing with my cat?” You laughed out loud, remembering the poor animal’s disgruntled expression as the two of you gave it an unwanted haircut. For a few moments you reminisced over memories of your childhood until a cough sounded behind you.
His group members were standing around awkwardly, feeling out of place in the middle of your friendly conversation. You laughed, walking to the stereo and turning the music on again. As the boys began to run through the choreography once more, your rediscovered friend offered an excited smile.
“We should meet up later! For dinner or something.” You grinned cheerfully, nodding your head. His eyes smiled in response, and you looked forward to rebuilding the old friendship.
