Bangtan and the Lost Kid

Adventures of Bangtan toddlers

Hihi there will be a Halloween special soon :)) I should just get rid of special chapters like every single chapter is a special

Quick Question: Have you ever helped a lost kid before?

Sorry I haven't been updating lately I've got 2 other fics (that i'm kind of neglecting also) and exams in three days :((

*Also sorry if the "new kid" isn't in character since I don't really follow his group ;)

**********************************************************

The doorbell chimes and the door opens with a creak. Seokjin is immediately greeted by the flashing of lightning and the roar of thunder, as if heralding the arrival of the...

"WHO IS THAT?!" Hoseok screeches as he points an accusing finger at the kid standing all drenched on their Welcome mat. Bang PD-hyung is standing with the child, he himself wet all over since he was trying to shelter the child from the rain.

"Rude," Seokjin smacks Hoseok over the head as he walks over to the child and Bang PD-hyung.

"I found him lost in the rain," Bang PD-hyung explains. "His name is Moonbin."

"Moonbin-ssi, nice to meet you," Seokjin bows, and Moonbin reciprocates the gesture.

"I'll try to contact his family in the morning," Bang PD-hyung says. "Please take care of him in the meantime."

"I will," Seokjin smiles, and he ushers Moonbin towards the washroom where he grabs some towels and attempts to dry him up the best he can.

Unbeknownst to them, Jungkook, Taehyung, Hoseok and Jimin are eavesdropping from the other side of the door. Yoongi had rolled his eyes and Namjoon is too absorbed in his book to even care.

"It's Games Night," Taehyung pouts, waiting for his hyung to come out from the toilet. It's 8:56pm, almost time for their Games Night, a night that Seokjin has dedicated to playing board games with the whole family to bond them...as if they aren't bonded enough.

"And hyung is helping some kid who's not even from our family!" Jungkook flops to the ground, dejected.

"I don't want him to play with us," Hoseok agrees.

And thus, the three of them devise a plan...while Jimin just watches on, unsure of what to do. If he tells on them, then Hobi-hyung and Tae and Jungkookie wouldn't play with him anymore.

Jungkookie won't play with him anymore.

Jimin shouldn't tell then.

********************************************************************

"What are you doing?" Namjoon asks, sounding rather bored when he catches the four of them huddled in one corner in the living room and discussing their plan.

"Making a plan," Taehyung answers helpfully.

"For what?" Namjoon sounds interested. He's all about plans.

"You can't tell," Hoseok says, mysteriously.

"Cross your heart and hope to die," Jimin says, and Namjoon sighs, doing a cross over his heart and asks again.

"We're trying to get rid of the kid," Jungkook grins. "I don't like him."

"Oh...sounds interesting," Namjoon lies down on his tummy as he watches the four of them plan (all that seems to be on the paper at the moment are indecipherable drawings and unintelligible words).

"One, we're not going to play with him," Jungkook says when he's done scribbling on the paper. "Then he'll be so sad he'll want to leave."

"What if Jin-hyung plays with him?" Namjoon raises his arm to as a question.

"But Jin-hyung will have to play with us because we're his family," Jimin states flatly.

Namjoon hums as he considers their plan, which is likely going to be a failure. Jungkook continues explaining his points, that they won't give the kid any of their ice-cream and that they're not going to let the kid sleep in their beds even if Jin-hyung says so.

Well, knowledge is power, so at least Namjoon is in the know about this.

"Kookie! Jimin! Tae! Hobi! Joonie! And...hmm...oh yeah, Yoongi!" Seokjin calls from upstairs and Hoseok figures it's to introduce the new kid.

"Hyung!" Jimin crumples the paper that Jungkook was originally drawing on and he throws it into the trash bin on the way up. They find Jin-hyung and the new kid all dried up outside the bathroom.

"This is Moonbin," Jin-hyung says, and he immediately notices the tension in the air. It's almost unwelcoming. Moonbin senses it too and hides behind Seokjin, grabbing onto his waist.

And Jimin doesn't like that. Only they can grab onto Seokjin-hyung like that.

"Now, be nice," Seokjin says, warning tone in his voice. "Moonbin-ssi's staying here because he's lost and needs some place to stay while Bang PD-hyung helps him find his family, and if he doesn't have a home, he'll come stay with us as Bangtan."

"But...but..." Jungkook protests.

"Astro," Moonbin says softly.

"Astro?"

"Jin-hyung will come find me," Moonbin says.

"JIN-HYUNG?!" Hoseok can barely contain himself.

"Jinjin-hyung," Moonbin clarifies.

"Oh," Jimin breathes out an audible sigh of relief.

"Well, at least we know where he's from," Seokjin smiles, patting Moonbin's head and Moonbin doesn't take his eyes off the other Bangtan children who don't seem as happy as Seokjin to welcome the kid into their household.

"I'll tell Bang PD-hyung tomorrow," Seokjin says. "Tonight's a rainy night. We'll have to wait out the storm." He looks down at Moonbin. "We're having Games Night tonight. Do you want to play with us?"

"No!" Taehyung blurts out, but pouts when Seokjin shoots him a warning glare.

"Alright, what do you want to play?" Seokjin asks Moonbin as he brings the kid over, shuffling, to the shelf where they placed all their board and card games. There's Monopoly, Uno, Battleship, Connect 4 and many others. There are even card games like Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds (that Taehyung and Jimin pleaded to get respectively). To this date, Seokjin doesn't even know how to play either of them.

"This one," Moonbin points to Monopoly. "I used to play with Sanha and Minhyuk."

"Okay, we'll play that then," Seokjin says, taking the game out.

"B-But hyung! We want to play Battleship!" Taehyung whines.

"We haven't played Monopoly in a long time too," Seokjin says. "Plus, Moonbin's our guest for tonight."

He doesn't hear a peep from the rest of the toddlers as he takes the game of Monopoly over to the living room. They help lay the game out on the ground and set it up. Jimin sets up the Community Chest cards and Taehyung sets up the property cards--grouping them into their respective color groups so that they're easier to access when needed. Meanwhile, Namjoon is in charge of the money, considering he's the one who does mental calculations the fastest in their group. Yoongi is just watching the lot of them set up the game as Seokjin tries to entertain Moonbin. Hoseok snuggles up to Yoongi, grumbling something under his breath. Jungkook is stealing glares over at Moonbin.

"I want the hat!" Jungkook cries, reaching towards the hat when his hand touches someone else's. It's that kid Moonbin's! How dare he takes his hat!

"B-But I'm always the hat when I play with my brothers," Moonbin pouts, looking sad all of a sudden.

"I'm always the hat too!" Jungkook cries, refusing to let go.

"Yeah, you've always been the hat," Seokjin says. "Let Moonbin be the hat."

Jungkook barely contains his frustration as he nearly throws the hat over to Moonbin. Moonbin stares at it, looking at it fondly and forlonly as he places it at the start tile. Jungkook picks the money bag while Taehyung takes the car. Jimin takes the shoe and Seokjin the iron. Yoongi and Namjoon team up to take the thimble. Hoseok opts to team up with Taehyung as well.

"Alright, roll the dice and see who goes first," Seokjin says enthusiastically, despite the tension in the air and the fact that he's said this line about a thousand times already.

Jungkook gets a 6, Yoongi and Namjoon an appalling 1 ("THE DICE IS RIGGED!" Namjoon screeches. "THIS IS THE SIXTH TIME IN A ROW I ROLL A 1!")

The game goes on as usual, with Namjoon and Yoongi dominating the whole board. Not to mention that Moonbin is actually quite good at this, despite being the youngest in the group. Although Namjoon and Yoongi won in the end (Namjoon is just really good at business, Seokjin deduces), Moonbin claps his hands happily and demands for a rematch with the both of them.

"Ah, it's getting late, boys!" Seokjin calls, standing up. "Let's all go brush our teeth, floss and sleep."

With a resounding "Yeah!" the boys march off towards the bathroom. Seokjin lets Moonbin use his toothbrush when they're done, Moonbin is led to his futon in the middle of the maknaes' bedroom, in hopes that Jungkook, Jimin and Taehyung will play with him or something.

"Sleep tight and don't let the bedbugs bite," Seokjin grins, standing at the doorway with his fingers on the light switch. The rain is still pelting the window glass and thunder is still rolling about in the dark, night sky. It's going to be a really heavy rain, Seokjin thinks.

"Good night kiss!" Jungkook runs over to his hyung from his bed, followed closely by Jimin and Taehyung. They each get their foreheads pecked by Seokjin--a usual nighttime routine for them--and they head back to their beds.

"Do you want a good night's kiss too?" Seokjin asks Moonbin, and Moonbin nods, shuffling over to Seokjin and Seokjin bends down to kiss his forehead too. Jimin and Taehyung don't feel too comfortable about that. Their Jin-hyung's lips are meant for their foreheads!

Moonbin shuffles back to his futon and Seokjin switches off the lights.

The three maknaes put their Plan B into action.

**********************************************************

Moonbin wakes up to a banging sound. He opens his eyes and looks around fearfully. Is there a ghost around here? He brings the blanket up in an attempt at protection as lightning flashes across the sky. There's a sudden movement of white and Moonbin shrieks as he pulls his blanket over his head.

After a few moments, he decides to peek his head out from the blanket and he comes face to face with a white face right in front of him dressed all in white. He screams and won't stop until someone runs over to their room and asks, "What in the world is going on?!"

The lights flicker on and all the sleepy Seokjin can see is a small figure in a completely plain white T-shirt and white shorts and he has his face painted completely white...no, it looks like crayons.

"Yah! Jeon Jungkook!" Seokjin's voice is thunderous. "Stop scaring him!"

Jungkook, too startled by the sudden intrusion, doesn't react until a few seconds, scrambling past Seokjin to the toilet to wash off the crayon. Seokjin surveys the room and Moonbin dashes over to him, wrapping his arms around Seokjin's middle.

"It's okay...it's okay now," Seokjin smiles, petting his hair. "Jungkook was just playing a prank on you." Though, to Seokjin, that didn't seem like it was the case at all. It's as if the maknaes are purposefully scaring Moonbin to make him...what? Leave? He's going to leave the next day anyways.

Seokjin looks around, and he realizes that Taehyung and Jimin's beds are empty. Just what are they up to?

Seokjin tucks Moonbin back in, and he watches as a flushed-red Jeon Jungkook walks in, angry and frustrated.

"Jungkook, come with me."

Jungkook knows better than to defy his hyung, even if he is mad at Jin-hyung. He knows Jimin and Taehyung are still out there somewhere, dressed as ghosts ready for Moonbin to run straight into them. Seokjin glances at the clock. It's slightly past midnight. He takes Jungkook's hand and leads him outside.

"Where's Jimin and Tae?"

"Not here."

"Jungkook," Seokjin has a warning tone to his voice.

"I don't know," Jungkook says stubbornly.

Seokjin sighs, but Jimin and Taehyung musn't have been smart, since they're in plain view at the top of the balcony, in the same getup that Jungkook was in. The plain shirts were obviously from Jungkook's closet.

"Jimin, Tae, I can see you, so come down."

Jimin and Taehyung knew they were busted, since they ran down at the speed of light. Seokjin would have laughed at their outfit it not for the gravity of the situation.

"Alright, what were you all trying to do by scaring our guest?"

"He's not our guest," Taehyung protests.

"He is for the night," Seokjin says, shooting him a warning glare. "So...why were you trying to scare him? Is it because you don't like him? Or don't know him?"

"Don't like him," the three of them answer in unison.

"Why don't you like him?"

"Because he gets your toothbrush," Taehyung says.

"Because he gets to choose the game for Games Night."

"Because he gets goodnight kisses from you," Jimin states.

Seokjin sighs, wondering why they're so cute even at this time of the day...or night. All his anger has dissipated into nothingness.

"It's just for one night," Seokjin says, patting each of their heads and ruffling their hair. "And after that, we can have another Games Night, and this time, we'll play what you want. I don't think you'd want to give him your toothbrushes, and we don't have a spare, so I would have had to lend him mine. Plus, you can have as many goodnight kisses as you want tomorrow night. Be nice to Moonbin until he leaves tomorrow, okay?"

At the thought of being nice to Moonbin, Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook's faces fall and they mumble an "Okay" before being sent back to bed.

*****************************************************

"Here."

Taehyung hands Moonbin his toothbrush and Seokjin flashes him an amused expression as Moonbin takes the toothbrush and uses it, saying a shy "Thank you." Taehyung uses the toothbrush after Moonbin does (after washing it that is) but still gives Moonbin that look he gives whenever he looks at strangers.

Meanwhile, Jungkook shares his books and crayons with Moonbin (well, he stole most of the books from Namjoon's bookshelf) although he still doesn't look too happy about it. Seokjin's satisfied seeing the situation change drastically, though. Even Jimin's trying to be nice to him.

Hoseok isn't too big of a problem either. Actually, he's not a problem at all. After finding out that Moonbin has always wanted to learn dancing, and he's trying to teach his brother, Minhyuk, dance. Hoseok is glad to teach him dance.

Namjoon and Hoseok even bring him out to their backyard to ride their tricycles and bicycles. The three maknaes join them outside after a while, and even Yoongi comes out to watch them.

All too soon, the fun ends when Bang PD-hyung and a stranger walk through their gate, and Seokjin comes out to greet them. Apparently, the stranger is ASTRO's manager, or hyung, and is here to bring Moonbin back. He had been separated from them since there was a storm and they had started running. Thanks to Myungjun, the group had found their way back, but somewhere along the way, Moonbin had turned a wrong corner and found himself in an unfamiliar part of the neighbourhood. Of course, they had to wait for the storm to subside before trying to find him, while ASTRO's manager couldn't find him at all even in the peltering rain.

"At least he's back now. Jinwoo would be glad that he's back," says the manager.

"Hyung, can Moonbin come back sometime and play with us?" Jimin asks, tugging on Seokjin's sleeve.

Seokjin nearly bursts out laughing as he looks back at Bang PD-hyung and ASTRO's hyung.

"I don't see why not," ASTRO's hyung says. "I mean, the entire ASTRO can come if you don't mind."

Jimin squeals as he shares the exciting news with everyone. Well, what's with the 180 degrees change in attitude though? With elated and hopeful screams of goodbyes, Moonbin leaves for home.

"You'll get to see him some other day," Seokjin says. Well, he's probably enrolling in the preschool next year if he's just one year younger than Jungkook, so they'll most likely see each other every day next year.

"Okay, hyung! We have to have another Games Night! You promised!"

"Alright, alright," Seokjin chuckles as he's pulled into the house, ready for a Games Night in the middle of the afternoon.

Chapter 38: Ah, so cute! I really enjoy your stories, ty!
I cook for a living, but since I grew up with western dishes and that's what my current clientele prefer I am proudest of my soondubu jjigae which my family have been the taste testers for. However, at work, my coworkers favourite is my macaroni and cheese while the clients prefer the sweet and sour pork.
Watching RapMon chopping an onion was truly entertaining!
