*Maknae line left at home alone

Adventures of Bangtan toddlers

Hihi response to kaisora's request: Maknae line (Chimchim, Taetae and Kookie) left at home all alone!! (P.S. @kaisora I know I said I'll be doing the other request first but I figured I still have time ;P)

Quick question: Have you babysitted before (can be anyone, like your cousins or your baby siblings or even your neighbour's kid!)? If so, how was it?

Anyways, enjoy!

P.S. I'm gg over to switzerland for the june hols! I've no time to do my homework...seriously, haiz...
****************************************************************

"Be good, okay?" Seokjin looks over at the three of them worriedly. He pats each of their heads, and says, "I'll be back in two hours, so don't cause trouble!"

"Okay!" the three of them answer simultaneously. Seokjin would have stopped worrying should Jimin and Taehyung not have that mischievous glint in their eyes that probably signals disaster. With one last look at the three of them standing at the door, Seokjin leaves for his cooking class that he's signed up for. Yoongi and Namjoon are at that weekly rap class and Hoseok is at his dance class, preparing for a dance recital sometime soon.

Seokjin sighs, as he walks out, Jjangu nuzzling his leg all the way until he reaches the car.

***************************************************************

"Kkanji!" Taehyung calls for the cat, who slides out from under the bed, yowling and yawning as it stretches and lies itself across Taehyung's lap, presumably sleeping again.

"You're just like Yoongi-hyung!" Jimin laughs, petting Kkanji and Kkanji looks like he just can't be bothered to do anything anymore.

"What should we do, Jiminnie-hyung?" Jungkook walks up to Jimin.

"I dunno," Jimin flops down on his bed, before an evil twinkle lights up in his eye. "I know! Let's play Hobi-hyung's Zelda game!"

"But hyung will be mad," Taehyung looks appalled.

"Not if he doesn't find out!" Jungkook seems so in on the idea. "I watched hyung play it before and I know exactly what to do."

"Oh!" Jimin grins, and runs to the hyungs' room. "And I know where hyung keeps his DS!" He rummages about through Hoseok's drawer and fishes out the red 3DS. He opens it up and it opens to the Zelda game that Hoseok is halfway through. Taehyung eyes the thing in Jimin's hand.

"Alright!" Jimin and Jungkook throw themselves onto Hoseok's bed and snuggle up with each other, booting up the DS while Taehyung sits beside them, looking worried as Jungkook and Jimin starts to control the Link character quite well, defeating enemies that come their way and even making it all the way through the dungeon!

Even Taehyung has forgotten all about his previous worry as is cheering them on as they smash the boss to bits, even surviving a few hits from the boss himself (although it's painfully obvious Hoseok hasn't been training up his character as much so Link isn't even up to snuff) until they jump in the air to deal the finishing blow...

And the boss swipes its tail at them, killing Link.

Taehyung screeches as Jungkook and Jimin stare wide-eyed at the screen.

"Nononono! Don't press that!" Jimin cries but Jungkook has already jabbed at it. Jungkook only sees a 'saving' on the screen, as the save data is saved over.

"Nooooooo! Hobi-hyung will really be mad!" Jungkook wails, and Jimin throws the 3DS aside, onto Hoseok's pillow, switching the device off and wondering what made Jungkook so distressed.

"It's okay! We'll put it here and make it look like we never touched it," Jimin grins, putting the 3DS back in the drawer after sliding off the ladder leading to Hoseok's bed. He grins as he closes the drawer. "Well, it looks like he's never been touched. Alright, let's go do something else."

"Let's go look through Joonie-hyung's books!" Jungkook has always been interested in the English language ever since Namjoon has gotten way more proficient at it than even students at higher levels. He's only ever learnt one English phrase ("Pardon?") and Namjoon has tried to teach him "July" or something but he forgot.

Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook head over to Namjoon's bookshelf, sifting through all his books. Psychology, How the World Came To Be, the Selfish Gene, Physics of Everything, The Great Gatsby, Jane Eyre, To Kill a Mockingbird...

"What are all these?" Jungkook tosses another book aside. The Solar System.

"Hyung's books," Jimin furrows his brows at another one. "A study of World War 2?"

"Advanced Principles in Maths?" Taehyung scrunches his nose up at that one. He may not know what 'advanced principles' mean, but anything with the word 'math' has him reeling.

"Oh, look!" Jungkook picks out a book with a cartoony drawing on the cover. The Princess and the Pea.

"Looks like one of Jin-hyung's books. It has the word 'princess' on it. You sure it's Joonie-hyung's?"

"Yup, it has to be! It's in Joonie-hyung's bookcase," Jimin grins. "Maybe it's a birthday present for Jin-hyung."

"Let's put it back," Jungkook says, stuffing the book back into the bookshelf (but not before flipping through the book first). Eventually, they find Namjoon's stash of fairy tales (in English), and decide to try reading, in which they fail horribly.

"Joonie-hyung's really smart. Maybe even smarter than Jin-hyung!" Taehyung grins.

"But Jin-hyung's stronger!" Jimin argues back, and the two have an argument over whether having brains or having brawn is better, in which the argument isn't something Jungkook exactly wants to participate in, so he leaves the two behind and wander off to the kitchen, wondering where the cookie jar is...

CRASH!

Jungkook visibly jumps at the sound as he turns behind him, seeing mountains of paperback books crashed down in one huge pile, almost landing on Jimin and Taehyung.

"Hyung! Are you okay?" Jungkook runs over, and Jimin is shaking, while Taehyung stares at the books in horror and awe.

"Y-Yeah, I'm okay," Taehyung nods, and Jimin pouts, "What about me?!"

Taehyung notices he's pressing his hand down on a book and he lifts it up, wondering what is the poor book that got smashed being right at the bottom of the pile of books...

"I-It's the Princess and the Pea!" Jimin cries, recognizing the cover art immediately.

"It's torn!" Taehyung cries, flipping through the book and realizing the princess's face has been cut in half.

"Oh no! What will Joonie-hyung..."

"Come on! Let's go buy another one! I saw it in the bookstore when we went there on...on Saturday!"

"Yesterday," Jungkook corrects.

"Okay! Three musketeers! Let's go!" Taehyung cries, the three of them running to their piggy banks and trying to pool together money to buy Namjoon a new Princess and the Pea book from the bookstore down the road.

"That's a whole lot of money! Come on! Let's go!" Jimin stuffs the money into his pockets as the three of them head out of the house (at least Jungkook has the sense to lock the door) and run down to the bookstore.

******************************************

"The Lion King...Beauty and the Beast...Pied Piper of Hamelin...ah! There it is!" Jungkook finds the very last copy of the Princess and the Pea on the highest shelf in the bookstore. Jimin tries to jump to reach it, but he can't, and instead tumbles into Taehyung, and the both of them yell as they hit the ground hard.

"Hey, let's do that stand-on-each-other's-shoulder thing!" Taehyung suggests, and Jimin and Jungkook voice their agreements, before they attempt to do just that. Apparently, the strongest is Jimin at the moment, followed by Taehyung and Jungkook, and therefore, Jimin should be at the bottom.

Taehyung steps one foot onto Jimin's shoulder, and has Jungkook climb up on Taehyung's shoulder, and the human tower is wobbling as Jungkook manages to latch onto the book but...

"Yaaaaah!" Jimin cries, slipping and the three of them are tumbling down to the ground, Jungkook managing to bring the book down with them, hugging it to his chest and he lands hard on his stomach...on Taehyung, who's landed on Jimin. Someone comes round to check (it's all the way at the furthest corner in the bookshop) and helps the three of them up.

"N-N-No! Don't call Jin-hyung!" Jimin flails his arms about when the store owner asks about their parents.

He raises an eye at that, but puts down the phone anyway, "You've got to be careful next time, okay?"

"Okay!" the three of them say in unison, as they run back home with the book still in hand (complementary gift from the bookstore owner) and pockets still jingling with coins.

Namjoon-hyung will never know a thing.

****************************************************************

"That's Yoongi-hyung's recorder!" Jungkook looks worrid as Taehyung fiddles with the thing. Jimin's asleep, and it's probably because he's trying to sleep off the pain from having two heavy toddlers land on him.

"But it's not like I'm gonna break it!" Taehyung peers at the underside of the recorder. Wondering what the red button does, Taehyung presses it. "What does this do, Jungkookie?"

"I dunno," Jungkook says uncertainly, and Taehyung presses it again.

Taehyung fiddles around with it a bit more and finds a white button, pressing it and Taehyung literally jumps as he hears his own voice saying, "What does this do, Jungkookie?" coming out of the recorder, and Jungkook's response of "I dunno". And guess what happens next?

The recorder slips from Taehyung's hands and smashes onto the ground, Taehyung and Jungkook's eyes widening.

"No way!" Jungkook stares at the recorder.

Taehyung looks scared out of his wits. Breaking Yoongi-hyung's things is a big no-no. Because breaking Yoongi-hyung's things makes Yoongi-hyung mad, and making Yoongi-hyung mad is bad. Llike, really bad. Yoongi-hyung won't play with them for a week at least.

"Hey, it's still working!" Taehyung picks up the recorder and presses the white button, his voice coming out, crackling and drawn-out, sounding like something that came out of a horror movie.

"Hey, let's record weird stuff on this!" Taehyung grins, holding up the recorder and starts making queer whale sounds that Jungkook doesn't intend on joining in. After finishing up his final recording, Taehyung places the recorder back on Yoongi's table, and the elder is definitely going to get the shock of his life. In more ways than one.

Jungkook looks back at the recorder once more before heading out with Taehyung.

***************************************************

Therein lies the cookie jar.

Jungkook is on his daily mission to reach the cookie jar. Seokjin still doesn't know he knows where it is, so Jungkook is pretty sure he's relatively safe. Taehyung and Jimin are upstairs and have stolen Seokjin's DS to play Mario Kart.

Jungkook stands on his tippy toes to reach the jar (and having climbed onto the kitchen counter but shhhh Seokjin will never know), and Jungkook still can't reach it.

Jungkook huffs, wondering whether Seokjin has just put it on a taller shelf this time or he really got shorter. He tries again, this time jumping and managing to grab the jar before he tumbles to the ground, landing nicely on his feet.

Not called the Golden Maknae for nothing!

Jungkook grins as he retrieves the cookies from the jar, eating one, and another, and yet another one, before managing to control himself from taking another one and putting the lid back on the jar. He smacks his lips and attempts to put the jar back...

And CRASH!

The jar smashes to the ground, shattering into bits and pieces and the cookies are now strewn everywhere, crumbs littering the ground.

Jungkook stares at the scene in horror, before Taehyung runs donw, yelling, "Kookie are you alright?"

Jungkook shakes his head, pointing at the mess before him, "Jin-hyung's gonna be really mad!"

"If it's you, Jin-hyung won't be mad," Taehyung pouts.

"You too," Jungkook says, before edging away from the broken shards of porcelain, landing safely in Taehyung's arms.

"Let's hope Jin-hyung doesn't actually get mad..."

*********************************************************

"I'm home!" Seokjin calls from the door as Namjoon, Hoseok and Yoongi walk into the house, Hoseok commenting about how he's going to beat his dungeon at the Zelda game, while Namjoon is heading for his bookshelf to look for a book to read after finishing his newest book of King Lear. Yoongi is talking about some new rap he's written and it's been approved and how he can't wait to record it. Honestly, Seokjin has never seen Yoongi this excited before.

And Seokjin can only think about his cookie jar and the beautiful, gorgeous, sweet and tasty cookies waiting for him in the jar.

However, as Seokjin heads into the kitchen, he nearly screams as he sees his beloved cookie jar smashed on the ground, the pieces everywhere, and even worse...the COOKIES are everywhere!

"PARK JIMIN! KIM TAEHYUNG! JEON JUNGKOOK!"

Three people walk down from the room, and they look up at Seokjin with grinning expressions, at least, until they see how mad Seokjin looks and the shattered cookie jar on the ground.

"Which one of you did this?"

"Not me!" Jimin cries.

"Not me too!" Taehyung makes a cross with his arms.

Jungkook looks guilty as Seokjin turns on him, and Jungkook refuses to look up at Seokjin, too scared to.

"That's it. No cookies for a month."

"Hyuuuuung!"

Hoseok bounds down from the bedroom, and looks like he's on the verge of tears when he shows Seokjin his save profile, with Link back in the village instead of the dungeon he's supposed to be in.

"Someone played my game and...and..."

Seokjin looks back at the three, and this time, Jimin's the one who's cheeks flare up.

"WHO BROKE MY RECORDER?!" someone bellows from upstairs, and Taehyung stares blankly and guiltily at Yoongi as he storms into the kitchen, recorder put on replay of Taehyung's random whale noises coming out distorted.

"Hyuuuung! Someone tore all the pages of my book!" Namjoon cries, running into the kitchen, also looking on the verge of tears at he holds up two books with some of their pages completely torn.

And suddenly, Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook feel surrounded.

***********************************************************

Well, the punishment varied from hyung to hyung.

Seokjin makes sure that the maknae line do the dishes with a rotation system for two whole weeks, and Jungkook doesn't get any cookies for the entire month. Namjoon sure knows how to eat a cookie deliciously in front of Jungkook, and Jungkook whines "hyuuung" and tries to push Namjoon away.

Yoongi makes Taehyung sing all the song verses he's written up, and Taehyung is sure that Yoongi-hyung thinks of the most unreasonable arrangements ever, and his throat is sore by the end of the day.

Hoseok makes Jimin replay his entire dungeon, until the boss, in which Hoseok yells at Jimin for himself to make the finishing blow to the boss, in which Hoseok claims the credit for clearing the entire dungeon and the boss.

Namjoon makes Jungkook read English books to him so that he can correct Jungkook's mistakes and laugh when necessary.

All in all, their hyungs are evil.

Chapter 38: Ah, so cute! I really enjoy your stories, ty!
I cook for a living, but since I grew up with western dishes and that's what my current clientele prefer I am proudest of my soondubu jjigae which my family have been the taste testers for. However, at work, my coworkers favourite is my macaroni and cheese while the clients prefer the sweet and sour pork.
Watching RapMon chopping an onion was truly entertaining!
