As the two walk home together, a comforting silence surrounds them. Felix glances at Athena often, feeling confused.

His feelings and Athena's actions keep making him feel weird. Felix knew they were friends, at the very least, and yet every time he sees Athena, he wants to hold her hand, cuddle and watch movies with her; he wants them to act like.... a couple.

And, sometimes, Athena seems to want it to, but then she draws back. It's confusing and Felix doesn't know what to do. As he walks beside the said girl, Felix wonders if he'll ever know what to do.

"Are you okay?" Athena asks.

She looks up at him with concerned eyes causing Felix to blush slightly.

"No, no. I'm good," he says softly.

"Oh, okay."

Athena could tell there was something on his mind but decides against asking him about it. By the looks of it, Felix seemed a little distressed but clearly wasn't ready to discuss things yet. Athena thought it'd be better to ask when he seemed less stressed.

"Oh!" Athena pipes up. "How is your mother doing?"

"She's been fine, busy looking for work," Felix replies, his voice flat as he speaks.

Athena doesn't notice and continues to go on with what she was going to say.

"Really? Well, I guess that make sense. My mom has been meaning to go over and have a 'chillout' whatever that means. Honestly, she tries to be in the 'know how', but sometimes she definitely needs to take a few steps back. And-"

Athena continues to talk, this time being the one to fill the atmosphere with noise. It was an odd rant anyway. Athena just didn't want to address what she felt was going on and Felix was stuck thinking about Athena and now his mother.

In reality, since Athena mentioned his mother at the pier, he could stop thinking about their awful fight. Ever since the night she brought up Henry, Felix hadn't spoken to his mother. They exchanged good morning's and good night's, a few words about dinner, and minor talks about their day. Other than that, Felix stayed in his room and his mother was about the house, either unpacking what they hadn't finished or staring endlessly onto her laptop screen, waiting (almost begging) for an email back from her job applications.

He felt bad. Felix knew his mother meant no harm but he got so riled up that he hasn't figured out how to approach her again.

When the two reached their street, Felix barely heard Athena's farewell.

"Felix? Are you sure you're okay?" Athena questions, placing a hand on his forehead. "Are you sick?"

The boy slowing removes Athena's hand from his head and gives her a small smile.

"I'm okay Athena, really."

Athena gives Felix a questioning look and then sighs.

"Alright, I'll let you go. Tell your mom I said hi! And tell her my mother will call her soon!"

The girl already dashes away before Felix can say a reply. He sighs and moves toward his own home, feet dragging slowly across the pavement.
