Three years later…….

At the airport, Lyn is carefully pushing the cart leaving the baggage claiming area to go to the arrival hall where someone is waiting for her. It has been a few months since the last time she came to Korea. There are two people she is excited to see and there they are waving at her happily with their pair of cute hands. “Mommy! We are here!” They raise their voices calling her so they will get her attention. Honestly it doesn’t only attract her attention but others too. “Please move aside little ones, do not block the way.” Lyn reminds them so other people who just landed in Korea can pass them by smoothly. She parks the cart carefully at the side before kneeling in front of her two precious kids that she has been ‘meeting’ only through video calls since she left. She pulls them into her arms and holds them tight releasing the longing she has been keeping for months not being able to touch them physically. “How are you my babies?” She asks looking at Joon Soo and Jeen Soo who are staring at her lovingly. “We’re good, mommy. We are so happy that you come to visit us. How are you mommy? How long will you stay this time?” Joon Soo asks his mommy. She looks at the kids. She lifts her shoulders. “Well, that is a very difficult question. I don’t know yet. Let’s talk about that some other time. By the way, now that I am here in front of you two, I feel so great. Do you miss me?” She asks touching their cute cheeks. They both nod immediately. “We miss you everyday, mommy. We have your picture on our side table next to our bed so we can see you the first thing in the morning and the last thing before we go to bed. Can you sleep with us tonight?” Jeen Soo asks her blinking her eyes. “Yes of course sweeties. I miss cuddling with my two babies before I sleep. I can’t wait to go to bed tonight. Hehe. Okay, let’s go. We can have a long chat back at home.” She says as she stands up. Kyungsoo who is standing by her cart suddenly pulls her into a tight hug. “I miss you sweetheart.” He says whispering. She just listens and stands still. He kisses her forehead. She doesn’t respond. She pushes him a bit before stepping back. She only gives him a small smile before her attention is back to the kids. Kyungsoo is sad to see that expected response. He really wants her warm wife back. “Mommy, can we get some doughnuts?” Joon Soo asks her. She looks around and she realizes that there is a doughnut place close to where they are. “That one?” She asks. He nods smiling. It is not hard to read the kids. Whenever they see anything delicious, they will crave for it. She then looks at Kyungsoo. “Are you busy? Can I go there and buy some doughnuts before we leave?” She asks him. “No, I am not busy sayang. Go ahead. Here, use my card.” He says giving her the card. She shakes her head. “No, I have my money.” She refuses but he insists. He grabs her hand before placing the card on her hold. She doesn’t say anything but to leave with Joon Soo as Jeen Soo decides to stay with her daddy. On their way back, Lyn only talks to the kids. She doesn’t say much when Kyungsoo asks her questions. She only answers enough before staying silent again. Lyn realizes how they are not going to the right direction to Kyungsoo’s apartment but she doesn’t say anything. She only follows. She has changed. It is true for one valid reason. Kyungsoo, her husband made her this ‘cold’. People say that every married couple will face a very big test when they got to the fifth year mark of their marriage but for Kyungsoo and Lyn, it came right before that. They didn’t even get to celebrate that day together. No one ever thought that the marriage that has been tested a lot during their early years of the marriage would be challenged again after they got kids of their own. No one would. So didn’t them. But it happened.

The reason behind Lyn’s coldness and silent treatment towards Kyungsoo is none other than how he decided to trust outsiders and he didn’t even bother to hear her side of story when ‘that’ thing happened more than a year ago. Here is the unexpected story. Let’s go to the history land together. So, before the kids turned two, Kyungsoo was busy filming for a movie. He met so many new co actors and actresses. And one of them happened to act as his sister, so they got really close as they built the natural chemistry between them. Her name is Lee Sin Ji. On the final day of the filming, Jae Rin asked Lyn to come to visit the filming site. She actually had this weird feeling about Sin Ji that was why she asked Lyn to come. Both Lyn and Sin Ji had a talk and it was just a casual conversation as it was their first meeting but it was misinterpreted by her and her people. She warned Lyn that she was not supposed to be very comfortable with her position as Kyungsoo’s wife because someone else could grab that title anytime. But Lyn told her that after everything that happened to them for the past years, only people who didn’t know what is going would say that. And it triggered her anger. She felt like Lyn was trying to challenge her while in fact she didn’t mean it that way. That was when Sin Ji started spreading lies to some of the reporters that Lyn tried to threaten her for being very close to her husband. The rumour spread very quickly. Articles were written on the topics. Some were condemning and some others were protecting her. And the reporters tried to look for Lyn to get her explanation but rather than trying to give her chance to explain herself, Kyungsoo told her to leave with the kids because he said that he didn’t want her to be stressed out. But the truth was, he was affected by the rumour too. He saw how Lyn had a brief conversation with Sin Ji that day. He was there but talking with his other actors. He could only see her back so he didn’t know what she was talking about but he could see obvious discomfort on Sin Ji’s face. He didn’t ask since his wife didn’t mention anything about it but after what happened, he assumed that Lyn really did give her a warning. Sin Ji personally contacted him and told him everything that he believed was the truth. He was really disappointed in his wife that he decided to ignore her and the kids. He stopped sending his wife and the kids’ their spending money the second month they left. Whenever Lyn called him, he rejected the calls. He never initiated a call to update them what was going on. He was not interested to know about them. She didn’t stop trying because the kids missed their daddy too much that they fell sick many times. She thought he was busy that he didn’t get to contact them. She was confused at first because she didn’t know what actually happened. Lyn’s family didn’t have any idea what was going on with their relationships. They ignored all the rumours and they didn’t dare to ask Lyn about it because they knew that she would share the important news with them when she was ready. Kyungsoo begged for her to forgive him but she didn’t feel like she needed to. The mistake that he did was too much. She let him bring the kids back with him to Korea because she believed as a parent to their kids, he had equal right to be with them. The kids were fine because Lyn once mentioned about living separately with mommy and daddy. That was how they started not living together.

And right at this second, Lyn is in the guest room of the new house bought by Kyungsoo a few months ago because he believes the kids need a better surrounding to grow well. The previous apartment is too small for them to move around. At the age of three, they need a bigger space to explore as they have become more curious of so many things. This is all thanks to his quick baseless judgement. Though Lyn never really responds to him talking, he doesn’t give up. He keeps trying to initiate for a conversation when they are together with the kids. His wife only responds when the topic is related to the kids. Other than that, she is not interested to respond or to even listen because she feels like she doesn’t have to involve in things that are not related to her. Staying in this unfamiliar space is very uncomfortable for Lyn. This house is very huge that she still gets lost whenever she wants to go to another area. Thankfully she has her kids to show her around. Kyungsoo and the kids have started staying there a month ago. So it is enough time for them to get to know the new home better. They are a very big help for the clueless mommy.

“Mommy?” There they are. Joon Soo and Jeen Soo come to their mommy’s special private room they call it. “Yes babies.” She replies gesturing them to come closer. Jeen Soo leaves the door open. “Mommy, can you do my hair?” She asks standing in front of Lyn playing with her straight hair that looks longer since the last time she saw her few months ago. “Of course sweetie. Come sit here. How do you want your hair to be done, little girl?” She asks her getting the small comb on the side table as she starts combing Jeen Soo’s hair. “Can you braid it like you normally do your hair mommy? Now that I have a longer hair, I think I will look pretty with it.” She says to her mommy. Joon Soo is quietly sitting next to her. He focuses on his mommy’s hand. It seems like he wants to learn how. “Little boy, why do you look so serious?” Lyn teases her son. He smiles as he realizes that he is caught by his mommy. “I want to learn so that next time I can do it for her when you are not around. She likes to do her hair but that one time when I tried to do it for her, I messed up. Daddy had to fix it for her. But daddy was not good at it too. So she just let it go the whole time or just a simple pony tail for her.” He shares a story that happened when his mommy was away. Lyn is sad to hear that innocent sentence from her first born. These three years old twins do not deserve to have this unhappy family. They know what is going on and they understand it. She is thankful how they are accepting it very openly. They are very mature for their age compared to other kids. She doesn’t know if they carry her gene or it is just how she raises them but they are pretty much independent when it comes to playing and learning. They are not that clingy but they are very loving. They love having people around them. They can interact with new people without any problems after doing their observation. When they feel comfortable, having others around is not an issue. They can adapt in new environment pretty quickly. For Lyn, her major disappointment in their daddy will never affect how she feels for the kids. They are her kids. They are the kids that she delivered to the world. They mean a lot to her. She might be able to live without a husband but she is so sure that she can’t live without the kids. That is why she is willing to come and visit them here though it means she has to see that man that she doesn’t want to see. Honestly it seems like her feeling for him is frozen right now. It has been approximately four to five months the kids have been living without their mommy by their side. They came back to Korea without her because she wanted to stay back. She needed time to rethink about the marriage. That was what she told Kyungsoo when he insisted for her to follow them back to Korea. When Lyn was not around she made sure she gave the kids a call or a video call once a day so they can still feel her presence in their life though she can’t be there physically. The least thing she could do was to connect with them emotionally. So far, they have been good. Being twins is such a gift because they always have each other to spend the time with. So without their parents staying in the same place, they are still fine. She normally came to see the kids for a week just to spend her time with them. It was almost like a business trip for her. It was just that it had nothing to do with her business. The last time she came for a brief visit was for their third birthday party. She didn’t want to miss the important day of her precious twins. Though thing was not fully solved yet, she decided to come for the kids. She stayed for about two weeks to spend with them but the pressure she got from left and right asking her to forgive Kyungsoo and start living together again was too much for her to handle. The doctor told them that she was very stressful and tensed. Her mind was fully occupied with so many things since that thing happened.
