Lyn is uncomfortable to be in the same room with Kyungsoo alone. It’s not her fault. They never really spend time like this. Maybe they did but only a few times. Living in the same apartment doesn’t mean they are close now. They are more like housemates, not a couple especially when they are staying in two different bedrooms. Kyungsoo rarely comes home because of his hectic schedules. It is more convenient for him to stay in the dorm where all other EXO members are staying. It’s not that they don’t own any houses themselves but when they are busy with group activities, they prefer to stay in the same dorm. It’s easier for their managers to fetch them all at once. Only when they have break for a few days, they go to their family’s home or to their own home. Just like Kyungsoo. It’s not that Lyn is avoiding him or something like that but they’ve not seen each other for a few weeks now. So it becomes more awkward. They were supposed to have dinner together at home last night but Kyungsoo didn’t show up. Lyn doesn’t know why. She never asks.

Kyungsoo just sits there looking at his wife. He is supposed to go out with Ahn So Ra today but she cancelled it this morning, she told him that she had to go somewhere with her manager. It’s not like Kyungsoo is not aware of her relationship with her manager. They are not only a manager and actress. They have advanced to the next level. They are a couple now. So they must be going somewhere for a date. So Ra left one of her boyfriends for the manager. For Kyungsoo, it’s not shocking at all. He is still waiting for her to do the same thing to him. He wonders why So Ra still wants to be with him when she is aware that he doesn’t even love her. He still goes out with her once in a while when she asks him to have a dinner or maybe lunch together. He doesn’t want So Ra to suspect him for having someone already if he keeps on rejecting her. His wife needs to be protected. She always has these many plans but when she cancels it herself, Kyungsoo feels like it is a gift from heaven. Just like what happens today. He gets to spend his time with Lyn. He knows that Lyn always spends her time here with his family almost every weekend. That’s why when he called his father earlier today, he mentioned of probability he will come to the café. So here he is in front of the girl he has been missing for weeks. His parents were so happy to see him earlier, they told him that Lyn was upstairs and asked him to bring along the tray for her. She is been in the room for the past two hours.

Lyn doesn’t feel good at the sudden change of atmosphere. She feels like she needs to say something at this very moment. She closes her book and looks at Kyungsoo who has been looking at her from the very beginning. It’s not that Lyn doesn’t realise but she feels like she just needs to ignore it. “Kyungsoo ssi, what are you doing here today?” When she asks him that question, only then she realised that question gives a rude vibe but she doesn’t mean it that way. She bites her lower lips. He lifts his thick eyebrows. “Why can’t I be here? It’s my parents’ café.” He answers with a smile. “I am sorry. I didn’t mean it that way. You left the apartment earlier than me this morning, so I thought you had an appointment today. I am just surprised to see you here.” Lyn carefully explains. He nods. “I was supposed to meet someone today but it got cancelled so here I am.” It’s Lyn’s turn to nod. She then continues reading her book as she doesn’t know what to say next. She just gives Kyungsoo the space to rest and do whatever he wants. Silence fills the room. Again.

Kyungsoo brings one of the two cups of hot peach tea to his mouth. He sips it a bit before returning it back to the tray. He brings along a book to read. He just grabs any interesting book from the shelf on the stairs on his way to the room. Ever since he married Lyn, he has been interested in reading. So he has been trying to read whenever he has free time. His reading material is universal. Any books would do. That is one good change that he realised about himself. So nowadays, whenever he travels abroad, he makes sure he packs one book inside his bag pack, so that he can just read it on the plane. EXO members are surprised to suddenly see Kyungsoo reading some books these days but to know that he is married to Lyn, they feel like it makes sense. He opens the book and starts reading. He looks at the focus Lyn once in a while.

Kyungsoo closes the book he is reading and puts it on his laps. He then moves to the seat in front of his wife and puts the book on the coffee table. He feels like he should use this time properly. He can read some other times. Right now, he just wants to look at her. So the staring time has officially started. He whispers to himself. ‘Lyn, the wife that I married to 7 months ago. This calm lady that never really shows her feelings to me. She is always so calm even when I sometimes talk about So Ra in front of her to see how she will react. She doesn’t look like she is hurt or something like that. She still smiles when she sees me with So Ra like it doesn’t even affect her at all. It’s good for her but I feel kind of sad because it just shows how much she doesn’t care. Even if I don’t come whenever I promise to have a lunch or dinner together, she never asks why and she doesn’t even bother to get mad at me. It’s like it’s nothing for her. I know I can’t blame her because I cause this all. Just like last night, I was supposed to have dinner with her in the apartment but I didn’t show up until midnight. When I reached home, Lyn was already in her bedroom. This morning when I opened the refrigerator to get some yogurts, I could see the untouched dishes she made last night. I asked her to make some fish stew. I don’t think she ate it last night. She doesn’t seem to care about her meals. Looking at her right now, I can easily tell that she lost so many weights. Lyn suddenly looks at him as if she heard him calling her name. She lifts her left eyebrow asking if there is anything wrong. “I am sorry for not being able to eat dinner together with you last night.” He apologizes. “It’s okay. I am used to it already. You must have a more important appointment last night. Don’t worry about it. Promises are meant to be broken anyways. You don’t have to say that you’re sorry. I am okay.” Lyn replies to him with a smile on her face makes her dimples visible. Lyn looks at her watch. “Oh, I’ve got to go now. Or I’ll be late.” She stands up, grabs her bag pack and goes to the door.

Kyungsoo grabs her right hand stopping her from leaving. Lyn is surprised. “I am free tonight. Shall we have a dinner together later? I’ll cook for us.” Kyungsoo suggests while holding her hand. He is also standing in front of her. Lyn thinks for a while. “It’s a good idea but I don’t think I can make it. I have two classes to attend later. I’ll be home late. I am sorry Kyungsoo ssi.” She explains while rejecting the plan. “But you’ll come home, right?” He asks. “Yeah, of course but I am not sure what time I’ll finish.” She normally comes home later than usual on Saturday’s nights.
