Maybe...
Love at Hope AcademyYuri’s POV:
What is wrong with him? What is wrong with me? How could we almost kiss after we broke up? I was about to burst out crying again when I got a phone call. I looked at the caller’s ID: it was one of the ahjussi’s at work.
“Yeoboseyo? What is it ahjussi?” I asked.
“Yuri I’m really sorry but we are going to have to schedule a meeting with a potential company partner after school and we need your attendance. Will you be able to make it?” My heart beat fast; this was my first big meeting in the company.
“Yes ahjussi I will be able to. What time will the meeting be?”
“The meeting will be at 6 o’clock.”
“Is it possible for me to come earlier? As it is my first big meeting I just want some practise before. Is it ok for me to come at 5 o’clock?” I heard chuckles over the phone before he replied:
“I was hoping you would say that. The other heads and I will meet you then and teach you what you need to know. Arasso?”
“Neh ahjussi. Kamsahabnida.” I said my farewell and cut off the phone. I need to focus on this right now. I need to get this right. I walked out of the changing rooms and half-ran home. I changed into some work clothes and ate before rushing out of the door. My phone beeped and I realised I hadn’t told anyone where I was going. I looked down at the message Taeyeon sent me:
Taeyeon: Yah! Where have you gone? We’re all worried.
Yuri: Mianhe unnie. I have a business meeting today with a potential client so I won’t be home until 7.
Taeyeon: Fine. Come home quickly to eat arasso?
Yuri: Neh unnie. I’ll come home quickly.
Taeyeon: Good. Yuri Hwaiting!
I chuckled at the last sentence. I decided to walk to the company thinking some fresh air would do me some good. I arrived at the company just on time and went up to my pa- no my office. It felt weird to say that. I opened the door and found the ahjussi’s already inside. I bowed and said:
“Annyeonghaseyo! How are you all?” They smiled and replied:
“We are fine Yuri.” They don’t call me Miss Kwon or things like that because I’ve known them for a long time.
“Shall we begin?” I asked while we sat down.
And thus begun the hour of possible mental torture. How to know when the client is bluffing, how to decode the language they use to realise what they actually want and other monstrosities. The hour was nearly up and the client would be coming soon. I still didn’t know who the client was anyway. I slumped back exhausted and asked one of the assistants to bring me a coffee. Mr Lee patted my shoulder reassuringly.
“It is ok Yuri; this is a lot to learn in less than an hour. You have done extremely well.”
“Kamsahabnida ahjussi. What is the name of the company we are seeing anyway?”
“Choi Holdings. They are a good company but one of their partners is Kim Kosmetics so you may have to be careful around them.” I nodded
