Yuri’s POV:

The test was quite easy but my mind was distracted all the way through because of 2 things. One was Sooyoung and Tiffany’s fight. How could Tiffany possibly think she could get over Siwon without confessing 1st? Sooyoung seems really mad. I hope they don’t have a big fight; it would be so awkward living with them after that. Then I groaned as I realised that I needed to go to the supermarket to pick up lots of food for everyone. Feeding 9 girls is no joke you know? I texted Taeyeon telling her where I was going and was making a list in my head as I walked along when I heard somebody shout:

“You’re a disgrace to this family Choi Minho! You’ll never get anywhere in life!” Choi Minho?  I followed the voice until I found them. I hid behind a tree and listened to their conversation. The man, who appeared to be Minho’s’ father, was shouting at him and Minho was stood there impassive, not making any facial expressions. I felt sorry for him; his dad put him in a really difficult situation that he’s going to really struggle to get out of. If he can get out of it.

“You are going to ruin this family you know that?” His dad was furious “You need to woo Hyuna if you want to stay a part of this family! I don’t care what you have to do! Propose to her or something! Either way het her to believe you have fallen madly for her!”

Do you know what the worst part was? Minho just nodded his head. He didn’t say anything just nodded his head. I was about to turn around and walk away when I heard a thud. I whipped around and saw Minho on the ground, clutching his nose while his father just stepped in his car and drove away. I waited for a moment then ran to Minho.

“Minho are you okay?” My voice shook hard. I was scared; how could his own father do this to him? He just stared at me in shock; he probably didn’t realise I heard the whole thing. I looked at his hand that was covering his nose, it was bleeding heavily. I took out my handkerchief and said:

“Minho move your hand please.” He obeyed and I gently pressed the handkerchief to his nose. We were so close. That was the other problem. How am I supposed to go along and achieve my parent’s dreams for me if every time I see him I can’t think straight? Earlier today, when my bracelet caught on his shirt, I could feel his eyes on me. I don’t know what’s happening but I want it to stop.

Minho’s nose had stopped bleeding now. I helped him up.

“Thanks Yuri.”

“No problem.” We started walking in silence. Suddenly Minho asked:

“Umm Yuri?” I looked at him he looked nervous “How much of me and my dad’s conversation did you actually hear?” I hesitated before saying:

“The 1st thing I heard was your dad screaming that you were a disgrace” I looked down in embarrassment before adding “Minho, how could your father do that to you?” He sighed heavily and replied:

“My father is who he is Yuri, I can’t change that.”

“Seriously though, he shouldn’t do that to you. He should support you and be kind and caring. Why anyone would put their child through that I don’t know but-“I was about to continue when Minho shouted:

“SHUT UP YURI!” I was startled; we stopped walking and he turned to look me on full in the face; his eyes were blazing.”MY PARENTS AREN’T LIKE YOURS OK! MY PARENTS AREN’T PERFECT LIKE YOURS! AT LEAST THEY TAUGHT ME NOT TO POKE AROUND IN OTHER PEOPLE’S BUSINESS! SO JUST GO AWAY AND RUN HOME TO MOMMY AND DADDY!” He turned around and slowly walked off in the direction we had just come. I stood there, tears filling up my eyes as I took in what he said. I said quietly:

“At least your parents are alive.” Minho whipped around at that and walked a few steps towards me.

“What did you say?” His face were shocked. It took all the courage I had to say:

“At least your parents are alive! They’re not perfect but who is? At least they are with you! AT LEAST THEY’RE NOT DEAD!” My emotions burst out of me and I turned away from him and ran. I sobbed hard; my vision was blurred by my tears. I could hear him shouting my name but I was in no mood to talk to him now. I ran as fast as I could; my feet pound away at the pavement.

Suddenly I heard a horn honk loudly and I turned to see a lorry heading straight to me; going too fast to stop in time. I stood there frozen like a deer in headlights my body not responding to signals that were screaming for me to run. I felt a strong grip on my arm that yanked me back to the pavement and I breathed shakily.

I saw Minho’s face peering down at me; his eyes full of concern. He held me by my shoulders, shook me and said:

“What is wrong with you Yuri? Where were you going?” His voice was slightly angry but he was mostly concerned. I didn’t know what to say. Instead I did something I would regret. I burst out sobbing, put my arms around his neck and held him tight. My tears flowed onto his shirt as I sobbed. I felt him stiffen at 1st but then he wrapped an arm around my waist and the other around my shoulder. I don’t know how long we would have stayed like that for if not for-

“YAH! What do you think you are doing?” I broke apart from Minho to see a fat, slightly bald man marching towards us. Surprisingly he glared at Minho, not me. I bowed to him and said apologetically:

“I’m sorry ahjussi; I didn’t mean to run out in front of you like that!” H
