There was a time when humans and Mother Nature coexist peacefully, there was no war between the two realms and they would help each other out. However, the peace only lasted for a few centuries and when humans created machines and contraptions, they became greedy and attacked Mother Nature. Killing animals as they wish, contaminating the waters, cutting down forests, all these human activities are causing her great pain.

She screamed and begged to let her children go but the humans were relentless and ignored her pleas. Driven by rage, she vowed that she would eradicate mankind by any means. Sacrificing the years she still had left in her lifespan, she created another life form within her. Beings that were far capable of immense destruction, with her dying breath, she entrusted the king of Underworld her secrets and left.

Ever since Mother Nature had declared war on humans, they became cautious even though they were still developing and becoming more futuristic. The king launched an attack, terrorizing the villages and avenging Mother Nature. He eventually conquered a huge land and made it so that his people would never have to hide again, he allowed humans to live on the same land as well, provided that they don’t cause riots.

The humans obeyed and prospered the same way his people did. The king then chose a bride from his own people, the people rejoiced and expected a royal heir. For years they waited but the queen could not give him a child, the king grew disappointed and less interested in the queen. Eventually, he was hardly seen in the castle at all.

While he was strolling the grounds one day, a young girl caught his eye and he immediately fell in love with her. The king courted her for months before she accepted him, a forbidden love blooming between them. Their love was so deep that they gave themselves to each other, vowing to love each other for eternity.

Their happiness was short-lived when the queen had somehow found out her husband’s affair, she threatened to kill her if he wouldn’t leave her. To protect the woman he loved, he sent her away to a neighbouring country before the queen could get a hold of her while not knowing that she was carrying a child within her.

She fled into the deep, unknown forest on a full moon night, crying as she did so. Her stomach begin to grow larger as days passed by and soon, when seven nights were over, she had a swollen stomach just as any other woman would when pregnancy had reached nine months. Spotting a cave nearby, she went straight for it and gave birth to a healthy child. The king’s child.

No matter how much the child cooed and waved her hands at her mother, she couldn’t give her the affection she sought. She could only cry at the sight of her child, she couldn’t raise her like normal mothers do. After regaining her energy, she looked around the cave and saw that it was littered with beautiful crystals. There was a crystal bed that was in the shape of a cradle, just large enough to put the child in. After covering her with her cloak, she left the crying child and fled.

Eventually, the child’s cries attracted unwanted attention, especially from hungry predators who craved tender meat. A female elf happened to pass by on her patrol and went to investigate where the cries were coming from, she could not wipe the shock on her face when she found the crying child inside the crystal cradle.

‘Poor child, how could your mother abandon such sweet child like you?’ She said in sympathy. The child kept crying and she figured that the human child was hungry, bringing her back to the castle. The elf was a princess in her kingdom and she was well-known for her kindness, her parents—the king and queen took the child in after hearing her story, feeling pity for the human child as well. Ever since then, the child lived with the royal family.

20 years later…

Your sister, Aerith, is currently braiding your hair into a fishtail. ‘Say, (F/N)… Is there anything you wish for? Your birthday is tomorrow after all.’ She asked out of the blue. ‘Anything?’ You asked again, and she gave the same reply. ‘I want to know where I came from.’ Your answer startled her. ‘I know I’m not an elf like what father and mother said. I look more human.’

‘So… You’ve noticed eh? True, you’re not of pure elf blood like us but you’re not all human either. I think it’s time you knew…’ She then started explaining about your origins. The more she explained, the more disappointed you became. How could your mother do such horrible things to you? There has to be some explanation why she did so but other than that, you were intrigued when Aerith said that you weren’t entirely human.

If you aren’t human, then what exactly are you?

You then decided to go and find your real parents, it was hard for you to leave the current family you’ve grown so fond of but staying here wouldn’t get you the answers you really wanted. With a heavy heart, you crossed into the world of humans. You could go back whenever you wanted to but Aerith said that time separates the nature’s realm and human’s, not that you didn’t mind.

It was a different feeling when you crossed over into the human world, they had technologies that were far more advanced than what you’ve seen before. Even your clothing had changed into their era’s modern style. Even the air here smells different.

Even though majority of the people here are human but you knew that there were some of them who aren’t, the non-human part of you could sense it. You didn’t know where to go since you were very unfamiliar with this place but you decided to observe how humans react and respond.

Meanwhile, the old king is on his deathbed. Even when he’s already so old and frail, he could not forget the old flame that still lights a small portion of his heart. He still remembered the day when he last saw her, her teary face before she fled and the day when he found out he had another child with her. He summoned for his son, Kyungsoo who kneeled before him as soon as he neared his father.

‘My son… It won’t be long now but before I go, I need you to do me a favour…’ He coughed profusely before continuing his sentence. ‘I want you to find this girl…’ The old king projected an image of the girl into his mind then passed away. A royal funeral was held for three days to mourn the death of the king, Kyungsoo was to be made the next king when his father had passed but he said the coronation would be postponed until he has completed his father’s dying wish.

He set out for the human world where his father had told him he would find her before he passed but as soon as he arrived, a new problem arises. How is he going to find her in a sea of people? He had the power to track down anything he wanted but it won’t be easy in such a large scaled area. He searched for the girl using his powers and narrowed down the options where he could find her and eventually, he found her working as a model.

Kyungsoo thought it would be hard to find her but he was mistaken and he knew why, apparently, she was famous in the human world. It was hard not to resist her inhuman beauty and her charms, just by looking at a picture of her smiling made his heart pound wildly in his chest. But why would his father ask him to look for a human girl? He decided that he would follow her until she was left alone, even if that meant waiting for hours.

It was already close to midnight when you came back home, you were tired and you just wanted to sleep. But you still have to take a shower first before doing so. Just when you were locking the door, you jumped when you heard an unfamiliar male voice. ‘Who are you and how did you get in here?’ You demanded furiously, grabbing the closest thing to you as a weapon which was an umbrella.

‘Calm down, there’s no need for violence. I was sent by my late father to find you.’ Kyungsoo said, it was so hard for him to maintain a straight face. You were much prettier in real life but he couldn’t help but notice the small resemblance between you and his father, the same mesmerizing blue eyes that held authority. Maybe it was just a coincidence that they looked slightly alike.

‘I don’t even know you or your late father, so why should I trust you?’ You crossed your arms, looking at him from head to toe. ‘Look, I—‘ He edged closer but immediately took a few steps back upon seeing your powers manifesting. Your hands turned into crystal claws, they looked so sharp that it could practically rip a human in half.

‘Get out before I call the security.’ You said, getting an offensive stance. ‘You’re like me.’ To prove his point, his eyes turned a brilliant shade of emerald and his nails elongated into sharp talons like an eagle’s. ‘What are you…?’ You asked, lowering your guard after seeing that he meant no harm. ‘If you let me rest here for the night, I promise I’ll tell you everything I know tomorrow morning.’ ‘But, I have schedule the next morning—‘ ‘No, you don’t. You’ll have the rest of the day because I changed it.’

You didn’t ask anything after that and agreed to let him stay in the guest room. While taking a shower, you couldn’t help but notice how cute this guy is. He’s inhuman, just like you, and after finding out that you weren’t the only one, you were really relieved. You went out while drying your hair and you were surprised to find him sitting there and waiting for you, you went over to him and sat down on a chair next to his.

‘Is there something else you wanted to say? I thought you were tired.’ You asked. ‘I just wanted to clarify something, it’s been in my mind all day and I need answers.’ He sighed. ‘Alright, let’s hear it. I’ve got questions for you too.’ You gestured and hung your towel around your neck.

‘How long have you had these powers?’ He asked, staring directly into your eyes. ‘I’ve had it since I was born. Why?’ ‘Impressive… The only person I knew who had the power to manifest crystals is my father, the king of Asliumstyx. No one in the kingdom had his powers, not even my mother.’ His lips curled up into a heart-shaped smile.

‘If your father was the king, then why did ask you to find me? I don’t even know him. Hell, I don’t even know who my parents are.’ You sighed. ‘Why don’t you tell me what you know about your past and I’ll tell you mine, hmm?’ ‘Sure, but I’m giving you the short version. I was found abandoned in a crystal cave by a female elf who happened to be the princess of the elven kingdom, she took me back and the king and queen raised me as one of their own.’

‘Wait—So, you speak Elvish? I thought it was a dead language!’ There was an amazed look plastered on his face. ‘As a matter of fact, I do speak Elvish and no, it’s not a dead language but almost driven to brink of extinction. So… When I was 20, they told me the truth and I decided to find who my real parents were but I couldn’t do that without money. The humans scouted me on my first day here and took me in, they told me what to do and in a short time, I gained fame and wealth. I wanted to look for my parents but I don’t know where to start.’

‘Well, maybe I can help look for your parents
