1. Meeting You

It had been a crappy day for Kim Jongin, the teachers scolded him for blasting music too loud in the practice room, Chanyeol accidentally spilled juice all over his uniform and to make it even worse, he had forgotten to grab spare clothes from home. Without any choice, he slipped his hoodie on and left his uniform in his locker to dry but unfortunately, the disciplinary committee caught him not wearing his uniform and took disciplinary action on him.

He cussed and kicked his locker in frustration as he gripped the detention slip tightly in his hand. Grabbing his bag from class, he trudged straight to detention hall with an unamused expression plastered on his face.

He dreaded every step towards the hall and once inside, he gave the teacher his slip went to sit on a random empty seat. ‘So… What’d you get in here for?’ A voice next to him asked. There you sat, looking at him while twirling your mechanical pencil in between your fingers expertly while biting on a lollipop.

‘Wearing an attire that’s not authorized by the school. You?’ He asked, pulling out his homework. ‘Correcting the teacher. The book was clearly giving the wrong information and she said I was the one who was wrong. Not exactly a good day for me today and she made it worse by pissing me off.’ You huffed, biting so hard on the candy that it cracked and you spat the stick into the bin in precision.

‘Guess we share the same bad luck today huh? I’m Kim Jongin from class 3-2, pleased to make your acquaintance.’ He held out his hand. ‘I know who you are, you’re kinda famous in our class. I’m (F/N), class 3-7.’ You shook his hand with yours with a grin.

2. Hung Out As Friends

You and Jongin got along well after spending a day in detention hall and doing punishments together, he didn’t know why he hadn’t notice you earlier when you said you were in the same class with him in your previous year when you were actually this fun to hang out with.

‘Hey, wanna hang out this weekend with me and my pals?’ He asked suddenly while you and him were study for an upcoming pop quiz. ‘Are you sure? Because I feel like I really shouldn’t—‘ ‘Meh, what kind of nonsense are you talking about? It’s gonna be awesome! It’s just me, the guys and their girlfriends. Don’t worry, you’re gonna have a blast!’ he said excitedly. ‘If you say so…’ you trailed off.

Weekend came and you were already waiting at the park nearby your home for Jongin to come and pick you up, he’s running a bit late but you didn’t mind waiting for him. ‘Oh , I’m so sorry I’m late! My sister wanted me to give her a ride to someplace else so I had to send her first.’ He panted as he explained.

‘Nah, its fine. So where are we going?’ you asked, straightening out invisible creases on your shirt. ‘Just follow me and you’ll know.’ He flashed you a killer smile. ‘If I hadn’t known you, I would’ve thought you were a ert trying to kidnap me.’ You joked. ‘What?’ Jongin did a double-take at your words. ‘I’m joking.’ You held in a laugh.

‘Right… Now let’s take off.’ He drawled. Handing you a helmet, he secured is own first before turning to you and helping you secure yours. ‘Ow, ow, ow! Not so tight!’ you cried out in pain and he loosened the strap once more as he apologized profusely. ‘Alright, now hold on tight. Don’t want you falling off and getting lost halfway now do we?’ he said as he gave you a wink, securing your arms around his waist all under the pretense of not letting you fall off.

‘Hey, hey, hey! Look who finally decided to show up!’ He heard Chanyeol yelling from afar. ‘Is this your girlfriend?’ his girlfriend asked as she eyed you from head to toe. ‘Uhh… No, we’re just friends.’ Jongin answered with a beet red faced. They introduced themselves to you and shook your hands, boys of course went ahead to the arcade and you had to hang out with the girls and accompany them on their shopping trips.

It was boring and annoying to hear them gush about their boyfriends and the newest trends of fashion, it didn’t sound appealing to you since you were more of a masculine type of girl. You just stood there like an idiot not knowing what to do and you thanked your lucky stars Jongin came to save you from this hell.

You went shooting basketballs with him and you won by three points more than him, making him widen his eyes in disbelief at the marks displayed on the board in LED lights. Not giving up, he challenged you to other games and unbelievably, he lost all of them too. ‘Oh come on!’ he half-yelled as he tried to shoot more zombies than you but you emerged victorious and his character was eaten.

‘Haha, you look cute when you’re trying to beat me in games that I’m good at.’ You punched his shoulder playfully. ‘This is damaging my pride.’ He pouted. ‘Alright, will some ice cream fix that pride of yours?’ you pointed over to an ice cream stand nearby. ‘No.’ he said stubbornly. ‘It’s my treat.’ You offered. ‘Fine, only because you won and I can’t bring myself to hit you like those guys.’ ‘Jeez… What a sore loser…’ you stuck your tongue out. ‘Hey, I can’t help it!’ he laughed.

3. Asking You Out

‘Oh my god, I’m gonna die.’ ‘Trust me. You’re not. It’s not like she’s a lion or something.’ Chanyeol reassured him. ‘Have you seen her when she’s pissed off? She’s an effing dragon when that happens!’ Jongin hyperventilated. ‘When I asked my girlfriend out, she’s just a huge blushing mess and said ‘yes’, jumped into my arms the next thing I knew and voila, fourth anniversary coming next! Now go, before she’s snatched by some other douchebags.’ He pushed him in your class’s direction.

‘Kyaa~~~ King Jongin is here!!!’ The females in your class squealed and rushed over to him like a bunch of frenzy piranhas. They fought over who Jongin came to see and argued, he sighed and scanned your class for your presence.

He tried to get out of this situation and he knew just how to do it along with his confession as he grinned widely. ‘(Nickname)~~~!’ he called out as loud as he can over the screeches of this fangirls. You perked up at the sound of his voice and took off your earbuds, looking towards the entrance of your class. Immediately, the girls in your class gave you dirty looks as they whispered.
