"I only read the cookbooks!... Oh, and my comics"
Stupid You,Gaheun's POV:
"Perfect timing!!! I just finished your breakfast!" Hyukshin smiles as I open the door. I look at him and can't help but smile; he was wearing a light green, white and gold apron, and had flour all over himself.
"Oh, you're back." Hyungjoo smiles as he chews something really loudly. Hyukshin just stares at me... Looking a little suspicious.
"What?" I ask obliviously. Crap, are my eyes really swollen from earlier?...
"You okay?..." he asks, still staring.
"Yo. Is the food done?" Kim Bum asks as he steps into the house, right behind me.
"Yep! Everything's on the table!" he exclaims cheerfully as he gestures to it with his oven mitt hand. I sigh in relief, it’s a good thing he gets distracted easily. Holy... That's a LOT of food!!! The WHOLE table is filled with dishes of food! So much food! My jaw drops open.
"Looks good eh?! I told you, it was the pillsbury," he smiles as he shrugs. I laugh as he hands me a HUGE plate.
"Don't waste any food! And make sure you try everything before Hyungjoo eats it all." he whispers to us towards the end.
"Heard that." Hyungjoo says, his mouth still stuffed.
"Good." Hyukshin says as he pushes me to the table.
~~~
Nomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnom.
~~~
"I'm. Stuffed." Kim Bum says as he drops his fork onto his plate, leaning back in his chair.
"Me too." I answer, drinking some water to keep everything down.
"Maybe ... I went... A little overboard..." Hyukshin adds, also leaning back in his chair.
"A LITTLE?!?" the other three of us shout in unison.
Hyukshin laughs, "Okay, okay, no more cooking from me." the food was so good though. But now my stomach is about to explode.
"You sure? Everything was good Hyukshin," Kim Bum smiles, taking the words out of my mind.
"Hahaha, you sure you can put Mama Hyukshin away?" Hyungjoo adds jokingly. Mama... Hyukshin? Ahahahahahaha!!
"... Mama?" Kim Bum asks, amused. Hyukshin looks at Hyungjoo with wide eyes too.
"Yeah. Ever since Gaheun has been around, Hyukshin's inner mama came out. He became so much more responsible, and started cooking, and ... Reading..."
"Reading?" I ask, that's not 'mama' like... It could be, but it's not only something mothers do...
"I only read the cookbooks!" Hyukshin defends himself. "Oh, and my comics." he adds with a chuckle.
"Those were cookbooks?... They were huge!!"
"Those could've been the large comics... Some of them look like novels." he states, matter-of-factly.
As I tune out their random conversation, I realize... None of the food here even had flour in it... Besides the bread, but he didn't make that :/
"What's with the flour all over your face?" I ask, confused.
"Oh... I bought the huge bag because I thought it was sugar. And I opened it funny. I didn't clean up. Sorry." he answers, sounding guilty.
I look to the kitchen, I didn't even pay attention to it before, but now looking at it... How could I miss it? The white powder was everywhere... Dusting all of the pots and pans, that were also everywhere :S
"So... Who's gonna clea-"
"Not it!"
"Not it!"
"Not- oh darn it." Hyungjoo complains.
Everyone chuckles quietly to themselves, but fail miserably. In the midst of our laughter, someone's cellphone rings, and everyone becomes quiet.
"Hello?" Kim Bum answers.
"When? Leaving tomorrow? ... Why?" he has a confused look on his face.
"... Okay. Yeah. Got it. In the morning or later?... Sure... Bye."
He looks at all of us and sighs,
"We gotta go back guys. Tomorrow evening."
"... is it happening?..." Hyungjoo asks hesitantly. My breathing stops.
"I don't know. We won't know anything till we get there," Kim Bum answers, pursing his lips.
Without a word, I close the balcony door shut behind me, and stare out over the horizon of the river, sitting down, resting my chin on my knees.
