A Few Days Later…

Third Person POV:

                Donghae lay on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. If only Gaheun were here, he thought, sighing. It's been three days since I've been confined to this space. When am I getting out?

                Someone knocks on the door. Weird, they usually just walk in if they need to say something, or bring food. I could be paranoid, but I don't touch any food or drinks unless Kim Bum brings it. The person knocks again.

"... Yes?" he says.

The door opens, and Kim Bum steps in, with Seunghyun.

                Donghae sits up, not saying a word. Seunghyun and Donghae look at each other for a few moments, not saying a word. A tense vibe is forming in the room.

“Ahem, Donghae, have you eaten yet?" Kim Bum asks, trying to avoid the dark atmosphere.

"Hah. Nice joke." Donghae scoffs. Kim Bum smiles back, he knew that Donghae never ate unless he was around.

"Wanna go grab something to eat?"

"... I guess."

"Good. We also have something for you." Kim Bum adds, still smiling.

"...?"

"You'll see eventually."

Meanwhile...

Ahjussi's POV:

"Boss! Something's not right." Hyukjae shouts, out of breath.

"What is it?" I ask, just as urgent. I stand up from my seat.

"... Donghae..." What? "He... Isn't at his mom's... She just called, asking to talk with him..." Oh no. That boy never listens, does he?

"What did you say to her?" the last thing we would want would be for sister-in-law to be worried.

"I told her he was out. I didn't think we should worry-"

"Okay good. Have you tried to call him?" When I get my hands on Donghae, he’s gonna be dead meat.

"Yes. But he left his phone in his room. He left his wallet, everything." Where could he have gone? Unless he went to Choi on his own. The stubbourn kid.

"Has the area been the same recently? No threats to us?"

"No...They haven't been around recently... They stopped coming around the night Donghae said he was going..." Damn. Donghae why? Pray to God he’s okay… It’s probably been three days he’s been on their side… Anything could’ve happened within that time. No, he’s okay. He’s got to be.

"Okay. Let's use this to our advantage then. While they’re slacking off, we're gonna have to be more offensive. Scour their territory, get any info you can."

"Got it." Hyukjae says as he bows before he runs out.

                Donghae, why did you do this? Why don't you listen?  Why must you be so much like your father?... You're following in his exact footsteps. Something he didn’t want you to do.

Kim Bum's POV:

                Donghae gets up from the table, not saying a word.

"Where you going?" I ask, he isn't trying to leave is he? That'd be stupid.

"... The washroom?" he asks, one eyebrow raised. Oh. Awkward.

"Oh, okay. Take your time."

"Err... Yeah. Thanks..." he says awkwardly as he leaves. He probably left because it's awkward sitting with Seunghyun. All Seunghyun does is sit there and stare at Donghae, as if he was trying to see right through him.

"Seunghyun. Why don't you say something?"  Instead of being a weirdo… >.<

"I have nothing to say," he answers matter-of-factly.

"Well, sitting around and staring at him the whole time isn't helping anyone, it's even making me uncomfortable."

"I've been staring?" he asks, did he really not notice?

"Uhh... Yes. You don’t only stare, you  examine  him, like he's some test subject. Haha."

"Oh... I didn't notice..." he answers, scratching his head.

"Then... What were you thinking about the whole time?"

"I've been thinking of why Gaheun would like him..." he whispers, making us both direct our head downwards. Wow. This guy is quite a character. I laugh a little.

"I'm serious. I can't see anything good about him, what can she possibly miss when he's gone?"  Is he seriously asking this?

"Well... I can see why she likes him. He's a really good guy. It’s only  you  who can't see it because you're so biased." Woah I spoke really fast. His eyebrows raise.

"Just... Get some time to actually talk to him. It'll do both of you good." If I need to tell him to get along with others, I might as well be in counseling.

"... Fine. I'll think about it." He answers stubbournly.

"Good."  I just realize we we’re still whispering.

"... By the way... Is letting Gaheun see Donghae that bad of an idea? I mean, you three seem to think its bad..."

"Yeah. It's not the greatest idea... Especially if you are sure you wanna let him die-"

"I know. I know. Okay. Fine. She won't see him then."

"You sure?"

"What do you want me to do?! You make me change my mind every time I make a decision!" he whispers loudly. Obviously irritated.

I chuckle at his exasperation, "Haha... Okay, good idea to NOT  let her see him."

"But I have something else in mind" He whispers again.

"What is it?"

“I'm gonna kill two birds with one stone. I'm gonna take your advice and 'talk' to Donghae, and at the same time-"

"What're you guys looking at?" Donghae's voice makes us both jump. Instinctively, I scratch my head, while Seunghyun pretends to cough and clear his throat.

"... An ant. I squished it. We should go now. Check please!!" I call the waitress towards the end.

"Oh…kay... Sure..." Donghae answers, not believing my lame excuse. Can't blame him, even I wouldn't have believed that.

"Asleep? You sure? Were you tortured again?" Seunghyun asks, talking on the phone. He chuckles, after hearing the reply. Donghae tenses up a bit, he probably thinks Seunghyun was talking to Gaheun.

"Did you deflate the weapon?... Hahahahaha, good. Okay well we're on our way back now, get ready to go out." he hangs up and looks at me.

"Hyungjoo and Hyukshin said Gaheun went berserk on them again, hahaha. They had to deflate the hammer." I laugh out loud.

"Donghae, don't worry, Gaheun's fine. I think we’re more scared of her than she is of us. She's been attacking us with weapons." I tell him. He smiles, letting out a scoff.

                "Okay next stop." Seunghyun says aloud to all of us. It's the first time he spoke up to the both of us that night.

"Where to?" I ask, starting the car.

"Home," Seunghyun smiles. I smile back, but wait... He said Gaheun wasn't going to see Donghae... Why is he...?

"C'mon get moving." Seunghyun rushes me.

"Okay. Home it is then..." I say as I look in the mirror to see Donghae. He was staring out the window, no smile, no anger, no expression. He catches me looking at him, and for a split second before he smiled, I could see there was something really he was really upset about. Wonder what it is.
