Donghae.
Stupid You,
I wake up, lifting my head off the couch pillow, the sun is out already... Wonder what time it is... Huh? Oh yeah, I almost forgot that guy was here; last night seems like just a dream. He begins to move slightly, until he turns his head and looks right at me, his stare emotionless *gulp* Awkward moment
“ … You… feeling better?” I ask, since it doesn’t seem like he’s gonna say something first. He nods yes, then realizes the bandages and wrist wrap he has on. Again, he looks at me after this acknowledgment... Weird...and awkward! I don’t like it when people stare at me!
“Errr... I'm gonna grab your shirt...” I say, almost tripping as I quickly run to the laundry/storage room to grab it.
What a creepo... “AH!!” I shriek as I jump slightly; he was standing right on the step by the door to the room, just looking at me again. What is he even looking at!? He makes me feel like an alien or something! I may be foreign, but I am still HUMAN!
“Oh my gosh...” I mumble to myself, trying to calm my rapidly beating heart.
“...Sorry.” he says, looking down slightly. Woah. His voice doesn't match his face O.o At all. I hand him the shirt while looking to the side, avoiding his stare.
“Thanks,” he says as he puts it on while walking back to the front.
I walk back to see him sitting on the couch again, cross legged, staring at the remnants of the first aid materials that I used on the table (I forgot to throw them out, there were still some bloody gauze and cotton swabs). He must have heard my steps, since he looks up at me again and watches me as I walk over.
“I think your cuts need to be cleaned and bandaged again” I say reaching for the first aid kit.
“No... I'll deal with them later on. But thank you for helping me last night... I appreciate it.” he is about to get up and leave until I almost yell,
“JUST SIT!” You can tell he was shocked by the outburst (he looked a little like, who was scared of getting in trouble = O.O). Heck, even I was surprised, and it came from MY mouth.
“... If you're not going to the hospital you gotta deal with it now. I don't know you, but its light out now. And if the storeowners next door see you like that... My aunt’s gonna kill me” Oh crap. Almost forgot Yejin unnie is coming back very soon too. He doesn’t say a word, and sits back down slowly, still holding his shocked expression. I begin to remove the bandages and get the rubbing alcohol ready,
“This is gonna sting...” I say.
“...Kay” He says, looking away. I was expecting complete silence to follow, but he suddenly asks
“Why haven't you asked me about last night? Don't you want to know who you're helping? You don't even know me. I could be a criminal or something...” ... Maybe that's why he was so quiet, and creepy, staring at me earlier.
“Was I supposed to ask? I mean... It's not any of my business,” It really isn’t any of my business, and to be completely honest, I’m not helping him just because he needs it (as bad as that sounds), I was telling the truth about my aunt knowing and the spies next door -.-“
“Yeah, but ... Do you see people in my condition often? Don't you feel weird not knowing what type of person you're helping?” He asks, sounding as if he’s getting irritated.
“Mmmm... Not really- it's gonna sting again- but from what I see so far, I don't think you're a bad person, I mean, you didn't ask me for help, and you didn't threaten me if I didn't help. So why should I be worried?” I answer, shrugging off his annoyed voice.
“Because that’s what a normal person would be - OW!!!”
“Sorry” I mumble. Haha, I'm so not :) Calling me a weirdo? What a dummie. Having this power makes me feel good >:)
“Fine then... What's your name? Is that what a NORMAL person would ask?” I ask, trying to mimic how he said ‘normal’.
“Yes. It is, and my name's- ow! Why'd you press so hard all of a sudden?!” Hahahahahaha, I know, it seems cruel and childish but you have NO idea how fun it is :P You think I would feel bad for causing him pain, but I really don't. Don’t judge me.
“Well then, 'Ow', my name is Gaheun, and you're welcome for helping you out yesterday”
“My name's Donghae, not 'Ow'' ... Donghae, huh?... that's sorta cute :/ … Anyways, I finish up with the last Band-Aid on his face. I end up giving him a white dress shirt as well, so the rips won't be seen by Mr. Yoo or Mr. Shin (store neighbors). If you're curious, white dress shirts are the uniforms here, and Yejin unnie has them in every size available, for any new employee that might join her little business. Donghae goes to the bathroom to put it on (I don’t know why, he already has the tank top on :S) and we both go for the front door.
“Thanks again... I'll repay you somehow,” He says before leaves. I turn around and make my way back home.
Hmm... Donghae. The name doesn't really suit him, Donghae sounds like a kiddish, carefree boy, probably dorky too. Not like him, he didn't even smile. And barely talked. Wait a second... He said he was gonna pay me back?! How? When? Is he gonna come back to the cafe to find me? Crap. Yejin unnie.
Donghae, I really hope you don't come back. Oh man. I'm gonna be toast if he does.
