After 14 hours in the plane, my entire body felt numb. I feel like I'm in a cast because I really walk so stiff. Finally, we landed. What am I supposed to do now? One of the stewardesses helped me pulled down my small luggage from the compartment above my seat. "Thank you," smiling at her.
I was the last one to get out of the plane, easier that way so I didn't have to bustle my way out with all those annoying pushy people. I dragged the luggage on its wheel, heading towards the immigration gate with basic English conversation prepared in my head. I handed the blonde lady my passport.
She took a careful look at me before smiling "Welcome to New York Ms. Kim." It felt kind of good being called by my maiden's name along with a single Miss again though I left him still married, I guess I'll figure that out later. I smiled back at her "Thank you," and headed towards the arrival door.
I walked and walked while looking around in excitement, I knew that Mama Wu assigned someone to pick me up from the airport, but I did not see a soul with my name on a cardboard like the other people who waited behind the fence. And so I walked nonchalantly with my head clouded with things I want to do soon.
All of that halted when a familiar voice called my name. I turned around to find the owner of the voice and that's when my whole world stopped. I stared at him without moving a muscle, am I dreaming? Did the plane crash on my way here? Is this even real?
And he's standing not far from me with that gentle smile of his playing on his lips, taking a graceful step towards me. I kept frowning and un-frowning, I'm confused as hell.
"You better close your mouth before the flies decided to live in it." I shut my mouth with the speed of light and realized that he's right in front of me, chuckling boyishly. I feel like punching him in the face, excuse me for being violent.
