Kris’ schedule today was hectic as usual, but lunch was set to be with his parents as his secretary informed.

From the morning till lunch time, Kris had filled his stomach with nothing but caffeine. So when lunch hour came, he was the first one to leave his office.

Kris drove over to the arranged place that his parents had booked for them to have lunch together; Kris’s the only child in the family, so it’s only the three of them.

The entire conversation from the beginning till the middle of the lunch was nothing important. But when the dessert came, his mom dropped the M bomb on him. No, not the mother effin' F-bomb, the marriage bomb.

Kris groans in frustration “I thought by having lunch together was just eating in peace and talk about something else, not this, again.”

His mother rolled her eyes at her dramatic son “We’ve talked about something else earlier, now it must be this, and how can I not? You’re almost turning 30; you’re not getting any younger.”

Kris’s expression fell into a frown “Mom, I’m barely 25. How can you say I’m almost 30?” His mother clicked her tongue at the top of “Same thing. The world is still moving, time is flying bypass in seconds. You must get married, to be able to merge further in business, so people will be more respectable towards you and take you seriously.”

He hesitated to answer, cause  he knew that his mother was right at some point. He opened his mouth to speak, but his mother beat him to it “No! You may not marry her. She is vile and bad for you, why can’t you see that?”
