At the start of the week, both bride and groom had to put their works on hold. Suri on the other hand had to resign from her former job, following the requirements in the contract.

The wedding ceremony was said to be held in the spacious backyard of the Wu’s mansion. The invitations were sent out to close friends and family. It was only invited to certain people. And it was also said that only one or two press was allowed inside the ceremony.

A day before the wedding was frantic; everyone was going around like a chicken without a head. It was a sight to laugh, but not when you’re the center of the attention.

Suri was so nervous to a point where she forgot how to breathe; she also forgot that this was just a sham. The wedding isn’t, but the marriage is, it will be a marriage based on contract to satisfy both parties.

Two or three days before, the bride and the groom were told to stay at the mansion until the wedding day. They were even told to sleep in different bedrooms, which they have no problem in doing so.

It was midnight when the house was in its state of calm and quiet. Suri quietly tiptoed out of her room, heading down to the kitchen.

Her stomach grumbled, she had avoided eating from the moment she woke up that morning. She didn’t want to start puking out of nervousness, so she restrained herself from eating or talking to anyone.

Now that she’s standing in the Wu’s kitchen, she didn’t know from where to start looking for food. But the first thing she saw was the basket full of apples.

She grabbed one, rinsed the apple couple of times, and smiled at it before taking a bite.

“How can you smile at an apple like that?” Someone asked.

Suri gasped whilst throwing the apple upward in react to her jumpy reflex. The latter caught her apple back “Here you go.”

She forgot about the apple momentarily once she saw who the person was. “Luhan~.”

He smiled at her, handing her the apple. The smile was forced, Suri knew it. She has seen how Luhan really smiled, and this wasn’t it.
