“This is your parents’ house?” Suri gapes at the castle-like feature of the house. Kris stood beside her, his hands in the pockets of his pants, nodding and led the way.
Suri looked down at herself “Are you sure I’m not overdress?” Kris trailed his eyes up and down, chuckling “That is normal in my mother’s eyes, but if you were to wear your jeans and t-shirt, that’s underdressed and kind of rude for the occasion in her eyes.”
She was dressed in a knee-length maroon sleeveless lace dress with a skinny tan belt around her waist, but since Suri isn’t fond with the idea of showing skin; she put on her half denim jackets on top, with black leggings to cover her legs, the finish touches was a pair of black converse. Kris find the combination of wearing a dress and converse an odd pairing, but secretly admitted that it looked good on Suri.
“Welcome!” Mrs. Wu opened the door before Kris even presses the bell. Suri’s eyes slightly widened at the warm welcoming greet.
“How did she know we’re here?” Suri leaned in and whisper in the lowest tone she has.
Kris chuckled “There’s camera everywhere around the house and the monitor is installed in my father’s office, kitchen, my parents’ bedroom and the panic room.”
Suri mouthed ‘wow’ following Kris into the house. There were two middle-aged women dressed in a black pencil skirt and blazers that aren’t so fitting to their body.
“Uh…Kris, who are they?” She whispers again. Kris’s eyes followed the direction Suri was looking at “They’re my maids, the oldest ones in this household. Mrs. Jung and Mrs. Lee” Mrs. Jung has a dimple on her right cheek as she smiled and Mrs. Lee is the one that’s wearing glasses.
Suri nodded, however she was still confused over their dressing code but didn’t dwell on it.
“May I take your jacket Miss?” Mrs. Jung asked. “Um…No it’s okay.” Suri smiled nervously. Mrs. Jung nodded with a smile on her face and left the entrance way with Mrs. Lee.
“You look lovely Suri.” Mrs. Wu compliments as she led the way to the living room “The dinner is not ready yet, but you can wait here with Kris and Mr. Wu.”
Mrs. Wu was about to go back to the kitchen, but stopped when Suri asked if she could help with anything.
