“Sica~!” Yuri greeted me happily.

“Yul~” I smiled widely when I saw Yuri waiting for me.

This is part of the day where Yuri and I will be seen together. We’ve been doing this for about 2? 3 months now. I’m already used to this. Yuri waiting for me, Yuri walking me home, Yuri calling me as soon as she got home, us talking for hours and hours until I fell asleep it was like we were a couple. The word couple sliced my heart in many tiny pieces because even if how much I wanted to we can never be together.

“Ready to go home?” Yuri asked me with that usual cheeky smile hers.

“Sure” I smile and cling on to Yuri’s arm.

I’m not the clingy type and definitely the type to show skinship but with Yuri around. I guess all those in my not to do list interchange with my do to list. I can’t believe that in just a couple of months this tall, tanned, charismatic, charming girl managed to make a huge impact in my life. I lean my head on Yuri’s shoulder and this is one of those silent days that I treasure the most. I know Yuri is not comfortable with silence but when we’re these close together. I think I’m talking on our behalf when I say that this is a comfortable silence.

“Did she called?” I asked. I don’t want to ruin the comfortable silence but I got to know.

“No” Yuri answered me and I can feel that she doesn’t want to talk about it. “She hasn’t called me in the past 3 months now”

“Have you tried calling her?”

I felt Yuri’s head shook. “I think she’s busy, I don’t want to snoop”

“But you are her girlfriend” I tried to reason, ignoring the pain in my heart.

Yuri’s warmth and the conversation must’ve distracted me because before I knew it, we were already standing in front of my house.

“Honestly Sica—” Yuri turned to me and looked at me straight in the eyes. She cupped my cheeks and I can feel all the blood in my body rushed to my cheeks. Her warm palms on my cheeks gave me another foreign sensation to feel.

I started feeling and expecting the unexpected as soon as I knew Yuri. In the first few weeks, she’s making me feel many butterflies in my stomach. The next few months, it turned into my stomach twisting and turning into many knots. Then sparks flying everywhere inside my body. So on and so forth.

Honestly, I don’t know what to expect now. I kept my gaze on Yuri’s and she never left mine. Slowly, I can feel her lean forward. My eyelids started to get heavy like it wanted to close but I want to see Yuri’s action so keep them open halfway.

“Sica~” I can feel Yuri’s breathe dangerously close to my lips, so close I can smell mint on her and I can feel the warmth of her breathe.

“Yuri-ah~” I whispered inaudibly. I think she didn’t hear it.

Yuri leaned a couple of inches more and I think our lips are only few millimeters away. “Sica I l—”

“Jessi???”

I widen my eyes when I heard a familiar voice. I roughly pushed Yuri away from me, right in time when the door opens.

“Sunye?” Yuri and I asked in unison.

The Jung family together with Yuri and Sunye were having their dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Jung and Sunye successfully convinced Yuri to have dinner with them. Sensing that she can’t say no, Yuri agreed. Yuri and Jessica were silent for the whole time leaving the conversation with the Jungs and Sunye, most of it asking how Sunye and her parents were. Occasionally, Yuri and Jessica will be asked by the older people and they will just answer by yes or no or brief answers.

Jessica was sitting on front of Yuri and beside her is her mother. Beside Yuri of course is Sunye and Mr. Jung is sitting in the middle. Jessica kept looking at Yuri discreetly but the latter never once lifted her head up from her plate.

“So Sunye will you be staying here for the week?” Mr. Jung asked.

“Yes uncle” Sunye answered politely then leaned to Yuri. “I want to spend my vacation with my girlfriend and best friend”
