우린 용원히 (My Forever)
You walk side by side with Myungsoo as you darted across the ancestral houses, you’ve only seen on dramas. You’ve scan your surroundings but you couldn’t help but gape on each and every houses you would see.
“So yeah.. I live near this area” He scratched his nape unable to hide his shyness.
“Whoa! This is amazing” You gushed.
“Really?”
You nodded repeatedly, “Yes. Very. I would love to live in this place. It’s like the definition of peace. I love the fact that green fields and fresh air would embrace you each morning then there would be the sea in that area”. You smiled as you pointed at the minute image of sea despite being covered by a series of houses.
“You are really lucky, Myungsoo”
He chuckled. “Really? Oh.. And what do you mean by you’d love to live here? Are you dropping a hint or something? Because in my own understanding, It seems like you’re telling me you want to live here someday and the only person who lives near this area is…. Me”
You stopped walking and scowled at him, “Did you just flirt me, Kim Myungsoo?”
He shrugged which made you giggled. “Aigoo. You are really cocky, you know that?”.
“I don’t know. You’re the very first person who told me that. I was always described as humble, mysterious, handsome….” He smirked.
You gave him a hearty laugh, “Humble? Mysterious? Handsome? Hmm.. Okay I’ll agree with the handsome part since you are the face of the group but still you were being described.. wrongly. You’re more like weird to me”.
“Pssssh.. Weird. I am not weird”
You gave him a stern look. “Ok. I’m a little weird. I’ll admit it”.
He scoffed as he rubbed his chin, “Well, How about you describe me in your own words? Since you’ve been a very close person to me, let me know what kind of a friend am I, to you?”
“Hmmm.. Let’s see. You are crazy, arrogant, stubborn, childish, a prankster-”
“So I’m a very negative guy to you, Is that what you are trying to say?” He furrowed his eyebrows.
You rolled your eyes on him and smack him lightly on the arm, “I’m not finished yet, you nimrod”
When you get his signal, you started talking again. “Well.. Even though you’re more of a negative person, the fact that you are sweet, caring, sensitive, charming and reliable keeps me more abound to you. And even though I hate to say this but.. you are a good guy Myungsoo”
Silence filled the air. The only thing you could see is his eyes intently staring at you. Not the kind of stare that can make you awkward but the one with softness and gentleness that keeps you from staring at him more.
You broke it buy saying, “Now that I’ve said it..”.
You handed him your palm and tried your best to imitate Heo Gyeonghwan on ‘The Flower beggar, “Give me 50cents”.
Then you gave him a series of laughters. You looked at him and he just gave you his annoyed expression.
You stopped and scowled at him, “Yah! It’s funny!”
He fake-laughed then made face, “Haha! It wasn’t even funny at all”
“HYUUUUUUUUUUUUNG!”
A voice was heard suddenly throughout the peaceful area. The guy’s loud voice made you looked at him in astonishment. Loud footsteps were heard as that person starts laughing. The guy seems to be in his late teens but his behavior shrinks his downward. He has the same jaw line and undeniable good looks that Myungsoo has and you don’t need to think for a second because for a second, you recognized him as Moonsoo, Kim Myungsoo’s infamous young brother”
Myungsoo squinted his gaze on that person but as the person becomes nearer, He started to smile widely, “MOONSOO-AH!”.
As soon as Moonsoo reached your place, He and Myungsoo hugged tightly . You took some steps backward to gave the two a little time together.
After their little moment, Moonsoo turned to you and bowed. “Hello! I’m Kim Moonsoo. Nice to meet you. Are you Wonhee-noona?”
Before you could introduce yourself, Moonsoo turned to Myungsoo in a giddy state, “Is she Wonhee-noona? Huh? Huh? Huh?” He said repeatedly as he nudged Myungsoo’s shoulder.
You grabbed his hand and shook it heavily, “Yes. I’m Wonhee. How’d you know me?”
“That’s simple. Hyung just tells me all about you whenever we are talking on the-” Myungsoo cupped his mouth.
He reached out for his ear and whispered, “Yah! You are not usually like this and if you are planning to get back at me for telling Jisu you like her, I’m telling you right now, I’m not going to buy you anything you want for your high school graduation. You hear me?”
Moonsoo rolled his eyes and nod. And with that, Myungsoo released his grip on Moonsoo.
“Anyways, Mom is waiting for the two of you, inside. She’s so excited when she found out you’re going to bring a girl home” Moonsoo declared then started to lead the way which leaves the two of you in the back.
You looked at Myungsoo, “Really? Ooooh! I totally forgot you haven’t experienced first love yet”. Then you chuckled to see his aggravated expression.
“Funny. Said by the girl who haven’t fell in love” He retorted. He snickered at you and then jogged to Moonsoo and ruffled his head.
You were left at the back. You stopped your tracks when you felt your heart beating. The scene last night replayed to you again and again and you hate it. It’s like Woohyun is on each and every side of your head.
“No. Not today, Wonhee. Stop thinking about Woohyun” You chanted to yourself.
“Wonhee” Myungsoo called while head-locking the happy Moonsoo on his arm. “What’s the problem?”
You shook your head and then smiled, “Nothing. It’s… Nothing”
You dropped your tea as you pursed your lips together. Interacting with Moonsoo and Myungsoo as a combo is totally tiring but fun. His mother is very cool which made you miss your mom as well. You haven’t had the chance to meet his father since he is at work but his mother said that he also wants to meet you and the fact that their calling you ‘daughter’ gives you a weird feeling. Weird in a way that you like it but you have no right to accept them asking you to be a part of their family since it is reserve for Myungsoo’s future girlfriend.
You straightened your seat while waiting for his mom. She told you she’s just going to show you something but it’s been minutes since she left. You eyed the two and they’re busy playing videogames.
You shook your head after you heard them growl in anxiety. *Childish fools*
After some minutes, You saw their mom going downstairs, now carrying a medium size old box. Later did you realize that this contains their photo album. You grew giddy knowing you’ll have to see their baby and child-like features. Also, You want to take at least one horrible picture of Myungsoo so that you could when he gets on your nerves.
“Wow! This sure is a lot of albums”
Her mom smiled gently, “Those two loves camera especially pictures. That’s why when we first bought a camera, Myungsoo never fails to shot each and every beautiful thing he sees and Moonsoo loves to pose for the camera as well.
But when Myungsoo got the opportunity to be a star, Moonsoo is also trying his best to be a known model someday”
“But Moonsoo can just tell his brother if Myungsoo knows someone who can get him in their company. Myungsoo can just recommend him in one go. Moonsoo is a handsome boy and you can tell it in just one look”
She shook her head, “But he doesn’t want to be known as ‘L’s brother’. He wants to be known through his own hard work, just like what his brother did. He doesn’t even tell him that he’s submitting photos of himself to some stores and agencies”.
You nodded respectively and grab one album. The album contains graduation photos of Myungsoo, he and his friends, his ‘funny’ hairstyle back then, he and Moonsoo in their pajamas doing weird faces but still perfect in their own way. You laughed just by looking at their faces and their big transformation from then to now. And that’s when a sudden realization has hit you, Myungsoo has no picture when he was in his childhood days. It was all in his teenage days where you could distinguish him easily despite some sudden change in his features
“Why are there no baby pictures of Myungsoo?” You inquired as you looked through Moonsoo’s baby pictures. You were nearly finished with all the photo albums and you just couldn’t find even a single baby picture of him.
She ducked her head low, “It’s because Myungsoo is not our son”.
“What?” You stared at her blankly, unable to take what she said. Are you hearing it wrong or did she say what she said.
“He is not our son and he knew it. All of us does. But we want to keep it a secret even to the other neighbors, Only the close ones knew. You see, He was a victim of an accident happened 10 years ago and he couldn’t remember anything. We told him we are not his real family but he chose to treat us, as his own. He became each and every part of our lives and no matter how selfish I would look like, I would never ever give him back to his parents since they are not finding him anyway. He is too precious and I don’t know why his family is not looking for him like he was dead. Moonsoo founded him lying him on the shore while we are having picnic by the sea and that time, Moonsoo’s still young. Moonsoo grew attached with him and that’s when we realized there’s some sort of connection between the two of them, so we accepted him and love him as our own son” She finish her words with hot tears rolling from her eyes, You could tell she loves Myungsoo whole-heartedly and you can feel a strong sense of empathy with that.
You leaned in and tried to wipe her tears, “Don’t worry. I think they would understand you and they would never take Myungsoo away from you.
“You really think so?” She looked at you with trust in her eyes.
“Yes” You smiled then she hugged you. “Myungsoo loves you very much. And I, myself, know that. I know that he will never ever leave you”
You rubbed her back softly and you could hear her breathing through your hair, “I don’t know why but the first time I saw you, I suddenly felt at ease to you. You were a special girl, Wonhee”.
You broke away from the hug and smiled sheepishly, “I think it’s too early for you to say that, Mrs. Kim”.
“Oh well I don’t mind. No wonder He is head over heels for you”
Your head perked up, “Excuse me?”
She stared at you for a long time and realize Myungsoo haven’t confessed his feelings for you, “Oh nevermind. What I said?”.
She chuckled nervously and picked something from a box under the wooden staircase, “Here. These are Myungsoo’s oldest pictures. He was a very cute child at that time. He has chubby cheeks and all but he is still handsome to me. Aigoo..”
“Oh wait. I think the rice cakes I’m making are burning up. I think I’ll go to the kitchen first, Okay?”
And with that she left you all alone.
You opened the box with a sweet smile on your face and held it up close to your eyes. Nearly till you knew that your smile is fading away because it was being replaced by worry and astonishment.
You keep shuffling his pictures on your hands not knowing your are glancing at them way too fast.
Your eyes grew bigger as a conclusion starts to get in to your head. *No.. This can’t be*
Your head suddenly became heavy and you felt your heart skipping in excitement. The days you’ve been longing for him was paid off when all you just need to do is look at the person beside you. You can’t believe it, You’ve been with him each and every minute. That explains why you couldn’t help but feel some sort of attachment on Myungsoo and you’ve never felt this kind of feeling with others before. Not even on Woohyun. Myungsoo is simply just different.
And now you know why.
You bit your lip and dropped the pictures on the table as a hot tear rolled from the side of your eye due to too much happiness. *Chandoo. Myungsoo is Chandoo.*
I am kinda expecting any responses from you guys. I may not show it but what you say cheers me up to make some chappies from this story.
