Soft knocking could be heard on the door before she heard the knob turn open. MY didn't need to turn over to know who was coming in because when she's in this zone only one person could talk sense into her.

"He went too far..." she started.

And he replied with a silent nod.

"I can't believe that after all these years he's still objecting. Isn't it already obvious that I happen to like my job?"

He raised his eyebrows and kept a soft smile on his lips, taking his seat right next to her on the bed he picks up her hand softly and held it in between his palms. 

"Which century is this already? Who is he to think that he can decide what I want for my future?" She pouted, before laying on his shoulders, "This is the one thing which I feel like I can be good at, and haven't I been doing a great job so far? Sigh.....What else does he want?"

"A better life for you?" SJ answered without a doubt, "He is.. your father."

MY sighed even louder, closing her eyes as she absorbed those words. Silent words in her heart telling her that he is right.

"They always say that daughters are Daddy's previous life's lover. And I bet your dad love you so much that he couldn't bare seeing you going through all these and sacrificing so much more. Every parent wants their kid to lead a normal life."

"Are we really that abnormal?" She picked up her head and stared into his eyes.

He chuckled, "I guess... when was the last time I brought you out for dinner? When was the last time we held hands and stroll on the streets casually at humane hours without wearing a mask like as if we were really sick?"

MY opened to say something, but no words came. 

Gently he used a finger to join her lips back together and held onto both her shoulders, "He has all the rights to be worried for you. In his eyes, you are always his baby girl. And he's far away in the US, all the news he gets is whatever he sees online which sometimes, come with the negative comments. Of course he wants to keep you away from all these unnecessary stuff. If I could I would too!"

MY eyes swelled to double it's size.

"And of course I wouldn't..." SJ quickly corrected himself, "But its the truth, we always ask ourselves how long we could stay in the limelight as well don't we?"

"As long as I can..." MY whispered.

"Yes I know, we all want that but this circle is everchanging. Maybe tomorrow when all the batch boys are out from their national service I would lose all my opportunities and be back to the guy who needs to go for auditions to get roles?"

"You know that wouldn't happen...." MY argued.

SJ gapped... "That's not the point.... the point is..."

"Ara ara ara...." MY interrupted, "I know what you are getting to!"

"Good."

"I'm not going to give up on my job, neither am I going to give up on you!" MY straighten up and stared seriously into his eyes.

"Of course, everything's got to be about you! I'm not too sure what my dad said to you just now, but regardless of what he says you're mine, and that's a fact which wouldn't change ara?" She furrowed her eyebrow and mumbled, gripping his hand really hard as if worried that he might just slip away if she didn't. 

"Relax... he didn't say anything to me or about me!"
