He smiled widely while looking at his last message. This surprise was meant to be a touching moment, he plotted it so well that he begin imagining her looks when he emerges from the room with his luggage and announce that he was going along. 

That touching moment was going to be so sweet that she will agree on letting him walk the red carpet with her. And they are going to look so stunning together that everyone would start talking about it. And he can finally announce to the world "SHE'S MINE!"

But everything didn't quite exactly went his way.
