First Meeting
Away from the LimelightTOP POV
As soon as everyone left, I didn’t feel sleepy yet and decided to go to the park to get some fresh air. Since it’s around 3 in the morning, I don’t think people will recognize me or if there will be any person I’d bump into.
I went straight to the playground and sat on the swing recalling our conversation earlier. I don’t actually feel the urge of entering a relationship now but there’s this lingering feeling of wanting someone whom I can share everything.
I guess it’s time to open myself to the possibility of entering a relationship but I won’t actively look for it. I guess I’ll stop dodging opportunities in meeting people, instead. That could probably be the start. I don’t want to rush things.
Drown in my thoughts I didn’t realize that someone was already sitting at the other end of the swing. I didn’t expect anyone to be around this place at this hour. I took a glance at her, and she looks like she’s deep in her thoughts.
Do I leave now? She might discover who I am. No, I’m in disguise. Wait, she doesn’t look Korean. Probably she’s a tourist. Wait, this is not a place where tourist would actually go, there’s no nearby hotel or any tourist spot. This area is almost private.
“Uhm, excuse me. I didn’t mean to interrupt but is it okay for me to stay here. you came here first and it seems that you’re thinking about something serious or you want to be left alone.” She interrupted my debate with myself.
Wait. She’s talking to me. Did she recognize me? I don’t think so. She was asking something. I didn’t hear it clearly.
“Uh, I guess not. Okay, I’ll be leaving now.” She bowed and started walking away.
Oh. She speaks Korean? I thought she’s a foreigner. Ah! I get now her question. Oops. I think I shooed her away.
“It’s okay. You’re not disturbing me. You could stay. I’m sorry I didn’t hear your question well earlier.” I uttered. What am I doing? I should have left her be.
I saw her stop. Turned around and gave me a smile. She walked back to the swing, but this time, she sat right beside me.
“Hi, my name is Ashley. I’m sorry to bother you. I’m new to this place and didn’t expect someone to be out here at this hour. I didn’t mean to disturb you. I just felt like saying something since we’ve been here by ourselves for almost an hour now.” she said.
What? We’re here for an hour now? I didn’t notice it was that long already. “It’s okay. I didn’t actually realize there was someone else here until just recently.”
“Well, yeah. You seem to be lost in your own world since I arrived here.” she chuckled. “I know this is weird but why do you look like a thief in the middle of the night? What’s with the mask and the hoodie. If I’m paranoid, I might think you’re a killer.” She said while laughing.
“What if I am?” I as
