Fair

Into the New World

“Hi~,” I said with a forced cheer. “I couldn’t go back to sleep so Taeyeon and I went on a walk,” I quickly tried to cover. My aunt grinned.

“That’s sweet. Are you feeling better Taeyeon-ah,” my aunt asked switching to Korean. Whew… maybe she didn’t see me touching Taeyeon after all.

“Ne, I feel a lot better. Thank you so much for yesterday,” he smiled. “I’m sorry I couldn’t be livelier.” She laughed.

“Don’t worry about it Taeyeon. I’m just glad you’re better now… and now you two can go with Kris and her friends, right,” she asked in English.

“Yeah of course.” I saw my smiling cousin and her four friends looking straight back at Taeyeon and I.

Oh god.

“Everyone this is my cousin Tiffany and her fiancé Taeyeon. They both can speak English, don’t worry.”

She began to introduce us to her friends. One of them actually came with us last year when we hung out with Kristine. I don’t think I would’ve known that if she didn’t tell me, but I’m just glad it wasn’t the girl that kept obsessing over Taeyeon.

I definitely would have remembered her.

“So when are we leaving?”

“Well once everyone gets ready,” she laughed. What?! They looked already ready? “We’re not completely ready yet and I’m sure you two aren’t going like that.” I nodded.

That was for sure. We were both in sweat pants…

“If it’ll be easier Tiff you can use my shower and then Taeyeon can use the one in the guest room.” I nodded again. That would save time.

“Good idea Kris, I’ll go grab my clothes. We’ll hurry,” I smiled. “Let’s go Tae.” I grabbed his hand and started pulling him along behind me.

“That wasn’t awkward,” he said sarcastically. I hummed.

“Yeah, it could’ve been way worse though Taetae. At least she didn’t say anything about me feeling up your abs.” He laughed.

“That’s true Fany-ah… I might’ve cried.”

We walked up the stairs and into the semi-familiar room. I made a straight shot for my suitcase and-

“What should I wear,” he asked from behind me. Aigo~!

“Something cute,” I responded shortly. I heard him sigh and internally laughed.

I knew he usually wouldn’t care this much or even ask, but I think he was trying to look his best for me in front of my family… I thought it was adorable.

“I’ll trust you. You dress well Taetae.” He scoffed and I just shook my head.

I wasn’t lying! His style was never bad, but it was also rarely that stylish… if that makes sense. His clothing style was definitely more relaxed and comfortable than flashy and bright, but it was never bad. I thought it fit his personality so well too.

Taeyeon didn’t like to stand out. Apart from when he was on stage I think Taeyeon was one who would rather try to just fit in with people comfortably than be the one standing in front of the pack.  When he was on stage however, that was a whole different story…

“Just hurry okay babe? I think Kris and her friends are probably waiting on us,” I said before walking out. I know she didn’t say anything, but I doubt she would’ve in the first place because she was so nice.

Plus, I was getting a little hungry too…

___________________________________________

Just like Tiffany had told me to do, I hurried through my shower and quickly got dressed in to the outfit she didn’t even help me pick out!

Ugh… Even if she asks me to change I won’t do it! She should have helped me in the first place.

I walked down stairs in hopes of finding my Tiffany, but I didn’t. No I found literately everyone but her.

Ughhh.

“Did Tiffany not come down yet,” I asked in the direction of Tiffany’s aunt. She smiled.

“No, not yet. Have a seat,” she said motioning toward the sofa. Oh god…

The other five girls, including Kristine, moved their glance from the television to straight at me. I nodded before taking a seat on the empty tan sofa chair. Their eyes followed me and I silently wished Tiffany would hurry.

My rescuer never came though; instead it was a question from her aunt that broke the awkward silence.

“So, how old are you again Taeyeon?”

Wait…

Oh god. She asked in English too! Does that mean I have to reply in English? I looked at everyone staring back at me and figured I had to… Aish, here we go.

“Uh same age as Tiffany. Twenty three.” She smiled.

“That’s what I tho-“

“Holy… You’re twenty three?!” I looked to the blonde and nodded. “Wow,” she said in amazement.

I sighed. That’s usually the reaction…

“And engaged,” another girl with light brown hair said. “My brother is thirty-two and doesn’t even have a girlfriend,” she laughed.  I grinned.

“I am very lucky,” I stated, earning a few smiles and awes from the girls.

“How did you propose?” “Ooh yeah! How did you do it,” two of them asked.

“Uhh,” I voiced as I thought about how to explain this in English to them. How did you say tha-

“Oh my god. Why don’t we watch it?” My eyes shot to my soon to be cousin and I could feel myself reddening almost instantly.

“Watch it,” a girl questioned.

“Ani! No. No, no. Let’s not,” I tried to say with my hands raised, but that evil little girl had already started typing something in to her TV.

“How are we going to watch it,” another girl asked. It was relieving to know that most of them didn’t know who exactly Tiffany and I were, but it would just be that much more of a shock to them once they found out.

Wait a second. Her TV? How and why was she typing into her TV?

“How are you doing that?” I pointed to the thing in her hand, but she didn’t respond. “Kri-

“The television is connected to our Wi-Fi and we can look up videos on Netflix and YouTube and places like that,” her aunt explained.

“Ahh~,” I held out. That was awesome. I didn’t even know that was possible. Tiffany and I would for sure have to get one of th-.

“Ooh~ here it is,” Kristine said excitedly. Omo. I totally forgot what she was doing for a second!!

“No, no! do- Ugh,” I sighed as I heard the music beginning. I put my face in my hands as I listened to them react to my now embarrassing performance.

Well it wasn’t embarrassing, I mean I’m not embarrassed in the slightest bit that I asked her to marry me. Tiffany Hwang wanted to spend the rest of her life with me, how could I be embarrassed?

It’s just that watching myself sing and then propose like I did was very, very awkward. Aish… it almost hurt.

It was so cheesy.

They sounded confused when the girl I was singing with wasn’t Tiffany, but Kristine told them to just shut up and wait. She even found a version of the video that had been edited to have English subtitles. I found that pretty amazing actually. Enough English speaking people wanted to watch this that someone took the time to translate it and then upload it again…

Wah it was incredible to think about… and so embarrassing~!

Now they knew exactly how cheesy it was since they could read the lyrics and everything.

The video came to an end after Tiffany said yes and their ‘awws’ filled the room.

Oh boy…

“Oh my god! That was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!” I heard a few of the other girls say similar things and it kinda made me feel really good. I’m glad they thought that way, unlike some people who said the whole thing was too show-y.

“So wait… Is he famous?” I nodded.

“He’s in this huge boy band in South Korea,” Kristine replied. “Tiffany too. She’s in the most popular girl group over there,” her cousin bragged. I grinned. She sounded so proud!

“Whoa! Can we watch something else of his?”

“With the group,” another friend added. She quickly agreed.

“Let’s watch ‘Growl’. I really love that song.” Oh gosh… here we go again. This time it was going to be even more embarrassing, especially because these Americans are not used to this kind of thing. At all.

All those hip s and awkward close ups… Ugh.

“Which version should we watch Taeyeon?” I looked at the screen and shrugged.

“Either one is okay.” I should have said ‘either one is embarrassing,’ but she just smiled.

“Okay, then we’ll watch this second version. I haven’t seen that one yet.”

Ugh, that was my least favorite. Those outfits were the worst…

_____________________________________________

As I stepped out of the bathroom I could hear music playing loudly downstairs. I didn’t really think anything of it until I could clearly distinguish what song that was.

“Oh god.”

I grabbed my brush and hurried out of the room. Moving quickly down the stairs and into the living room I saw Taeyeon sitting with his face in his hands as the six other people in the room were watching TYS’s ‘A.D.O.T.Y.’

Oh my god~. I couldn’t hold back my grin, until the next part came on the screen that is…

“Ugh~.”

It had just hit the chorus and when I saw that stupid model straddling MY Taeyeon’s lap, I had to groan.

That was also when the girls finally noticed me. I guess they were too busy drooling over Sooyoung and Yuri…

“Oh! Tiffany!” I quickly smiled at my cousin and then looked back at Taeyeon who was looking at me like a little helpless puppy.

Aigo~!

“Are you guys torturing my Taeyeon?” He nodded with a big smile on his face.

“Not at all! He was laughing at himself during the last video,” my cousin defended. What?

“Really?” She nodded. “Which song was it?”

“No Other? That’s what it was called right?” A few of her friends confirmed. Aish!

“Why were you laughing? I love that one Tae,” I admitted. “You’re so cute~.” I poked his cheek and he just pouted. I made him scoot over a little so I could fit beside him and sat down.

“They are really good,” one of the girls commented. “I have no idea what they’re saying but whatever it is, is great.” I grinned.

“Taeyeon’s the best. Wait until the end where he kills the adlibs,” I boasted.

I looked at Taeyeon’s adorable grin, and that was when I finally noticed what he was wearing…

He had a bright pink beanie on his head, followed by a grey long sleeved shirt with a dog’s face on it and black skinny jeans…

It was actually really cute and totally fit with his style. I was proud of him. It wasn’t flashy but it wasn’t too boring and the pink made everything just pop!

“Your outfit looks very cute babe,” I said softly in Korean. “Good job.”

“Jinjja?” I hummed. “I wore the hat for you Fany-ah,” he smiled.

“I love it.” I wrapped my hand in his and gave it a tiny squeeze.

I wanted to kiss him, but I didn’t think it was very appropriate to do with all these eyes on us at the moment, especially my aunts.

Instead I continued to get ready. Apparently the girls were finishing their hair and makeup down here together so all the tools were ready to go.

I did my makeup quickly while everyone watched more of SNSD’s and TYS’s music videos... well mostly TYS’s. I couldn’t blame them though. I’d rather watch TYS too. Not only is Taeyeon attractive, but Yuri and Sooyoung are both quite the lookers as well…

After a bit, I was finished and now just had to do my hair. Hmm… How should I do my hair?

“Hey, should I wear my hair up or down,” I asked the crowd.

Four of them said up, while Taeyeon and the rest said down.

“Down it is.” I noticed Taeyeon grinning out of the corner of my eye and instantly felt bubbly.

Wah~! This was going to be a great day, I could already tell.

It was even better when the last person that was coming along with us arrived. I didn’t even notice her at first. Taeyeon was distracting me with his goofy facial expressions at the kitchen counter as we got ready to leave.

“Oh,” his face quickly became serious. “Noona! It’s nice to see you again.”

Noona? Is he seriously calling my aunt noona? What the he-

“You’re not even going to greet your sister, Miyoung?”

I gasped and quickly turned around to see my older sister staring straight back at me.

Oh my god!

“Michelle!” I wrapped my arms around her and just smiled.

Okay, now today was going to be even more amazing.

Ugh, I couldn’t wait.

_____________________________________________________

We arrived at the outdoor shopping center Kristine had been raving about and I had to give it to her. This place looked fantastic. Not only was the place beautifully filled with flowers and fountains and had tons of people, there were shops everywhere!

On top of all that, no one knew who we were. We were walking around comfortably! We didn’t even wear our sunglasses.

Ugh, it was so refreshing.

“Where should we go first,” my sister asked from beside me.

Oh god, I didn’t even know where to begin.

“OMO! Fany-ah, let’s go to that candy store,” Taeyeon said excitedly as we walked a bit further down the main street.

“What? Seriously?” He nodded excitedly. “You just ate like thirty minutes ago.”

“So?” What the?

“So you were complaining in the car about how full you were Kim Taeyeon.”

“Fany-ah, that was real food. This is candy,” he explained like it was something holy. “I can always save it for later.”

Oh seriously…

“Please~,” he said cutely in English. I tried to fight back my smile, but I couldn’t. It was just way too adorable. I had to give in.

“Hey guys,” I interrupted my cousin and her friends. “Taeyeon wants to go to the candy store first… We can catch up to you guys if you want,” I suggested in case they weren’t in the mood for candy.

“I’ll go with you Tiff. I want to see if they have gummy sharks,” Kris said quickly. “You guys go on. I’ll call you when we get done.” Her friends and my sister agreed and then soon walked away in the opposite direction.

“Let’s go~!”

_______________________________________________________

When we walked through those doors I swear I heard angels singing. There was so many different kinds of candy I couldn’t even try to count

Oh gosh, I might cry…

“Heol~ daebak~,” I mumbled.

“Where do you want to start Tae?”

Oh god… how could she even ask that? I looked from display to display and started to panic.

“I don’t know Fany-ah, can’t we just look around for a little before I decide what to get?” She laughed.

“Tae you can pick whatever you want, I was just asking~.”

I nodded.

“Let me just look at everything first.” Her warm arm wrapped around mine and I felt on top of the world. I loved when Tiffany got clingy. It was probably my favorite thing in the world.

“Whatever you say Taetae.” I poked her cute smiling cheeks and she just laughed even more.

Ugh, just kidding. Tiffany’s smile was definitely my most favorite thing in the world…

The three of us walked around a little before Tiffany spoke again.

“You know Kris, if we were in Korea we wouldn’t be able to walk around like this, right Tae?” I nodded in agreement as I scoped out the rack of candy on my right.

Oooh~ they have Reese Cups!

I’ll totally be back for those.

“Really?” Tiffany hummed while my jaw dropped after seeing a huge M&M dispenser.

Seriously, they were separated by colors… Gah, SM really needed to give us more time off. I had no idea these kinds of things even existed.

“That’s why Taeyeon likes eating out so much over here,” I heard Fany begin to explain. “When we’re in Korea we always have to sit in a separated room or we sit in the far corner or something. We’d have to wear masks and hats too to avoid being seen… We sure wouldn’t be allowed to be seen like this either.” I assumed she was talking about our closeness so I just nodded again.

SM doesn’t mind us going out in Korea as long as were not seen all over each other. They also prefer it when we go out with our managers… That’s the worst.

It’s not like they give us time anyway…

“That’s why this is so nice. I feel like we have escaped~!” I grinned at her relieved tone.

This was really nice and she was right. While I preferred to stay in the dorm back home, when we were here it was sort of exciting to come out. In Korea it’s just stressful… exciting, but very, very stressful.

Maybe having a home here where we could take a break every now and then from the idol life wouldn’t be too bad…

“Wow, it must be so crazy over there.” I started to nod again but then something caught my eye.

“Oh!” I quickly left Fany behind and made a straight shot for the huge spinner rack of giant lollipops.

Oh my god… these things were as big as my face… maybe even bigger. I picked one up and-

“You’re getting that?” I looked at Tiffany and Kristine who were looking right back at me with surprised expressions.

“I don’t know, I was just looking,” I laughed. “With this I could just...,” I teased as I swung it with a fake anger. Wah, I could really take someone out with that. It was ginormous.

“Yah,” Tiffany whined. “You better not hit anyone with that.” I laughed at the next idea that popped in my brain.

“Or I could do, do~ do~ doo~ do~ do~ kissing you baby~,” I sang while dancing with the lollipop. Her tiny fist hit me in the chest and I feigned pain. “Oww~ babe. Don’t do that, it hurts,” I whined.

“Well you don’t do that,” she said with her now reddening cheeks. Awww, my little baby is embarrassed.

“Why? Kristine thought it was funny.” I pointed to the silently laughing girl. Tiffany however, just sighed loudly again and walked away.

“Yah! Don’t leave me!” No response. Ugh, this girl… “Yah~! I’m not supposed to get embarrassed when you dance like a crazy person, but you can get mad at that?” She halted immediately.

Bingo~!

“I do not dance like a crazy person.” I shrugged as Kristine and I caught up.

“You dance pretty crazily,” I said again.

“So you get embarrassed when I dance in public?” I grinned.

Aigo~ she was getting so defensive.

“A little.” I saw her nostrils flare.

Alright, I couldn’t contain my laughter any more. I burst at once.

“Babe~ your dancing is cute though!”

“You just said it was embarrassing you jerk” She started to walk away, but I quickly caught her.

“Aye~ it is embarrassing, but a good embarrassing. Its adorable when you dance all crazy like babe.” She continued her glare. “I promise! My face hurts from smiling every time Fany-ah!” I saw the corners of curve up briefly.

“Ugh~! You’re ridiculous sometimes you know that?” I hummed while wrapping an arm around her shoulder.

“I know that too. Now help me pick out candy,” I said after planting my lips on her forehead.

Within the next few minutes I found where the bags you put the candy in were and got a few for all of us.

“Oh, Kris here are the blue shark things,” I heard Tiffany say as I came up on the two of them.

“Here’s one for you,” I handed a clear plastic bag to Kristine. “And another one for you babe… I’m gonna go look over here, okay?” She hummed.

“Tae?” I turned back around. “You have three bags.” I nodded, waiting for the rest of the sentence but it never came. Uhh…?

“Okay?”

“You’re going to get that much candy?” I nodded again. She looked so concerned.

“Probably. I might have to get another one. I’m not sure yet… why?” I still didn’t see her point.

“Babe that’s a lot of candy,” she said with a laugh. Oh my Fany~! She was so precious. Her eyes were perfect crescents and her smile was breathtaking. Ugh…

How was I supposed to live with that smile the rest of my life? She was definitely going to kill me with it one day.

“And I’ll eat all of it,” I said happily. “Come help me when you get done over here okay?” She hummed again showing off her flawless smile. I just felt so happy.

Screw the candy. All I needed was her and her perfect self.

“Mom~ I found the gummy worms,” a child yelled somewhere behind me. Omo.

Okay… maybe I did need candy too.

“I’ll be over there.” I swooped in for a quick kiss and then headed straight to where that screaming child was standing.

Not only were there gummy worms, but there was gummy everything. Seriously, they had more of a variety than Paris did!

I stuffed my first bag with various gummies and quickly set the bag down.

“Okay, one down, two to go,” I said to myself. Reaching down to get a few more of the gummy mustaches that looked really fun, I noticed the kid to my right looking right at me.

What the… Why was he staring at me like that?

“Uh, hi?” His eyes widened and he immediately walked away.

“Mom~,” he called again. “This guy is weird,” I heard him say in the distance.

What?! Weird? Aish, that little .

You’re the weird one for staring at me!

Ugh… no. Let it go Taeng. He’s just a kid. There are more important things right now…

Right.

Candy.

I started scanning over the rest of the candy in the display in front of me and-

“Tae!”

Oh and Tiffany of course... Tiffany was more important than everything.

Turning around I saw my fiancé walking toward me with a cute grin and… oh no.

I also saw two teen girls with their cell phones pointed right at us. This can’t be happening already.

At first I thought they for sure wouldn’t be taking pictures of us, I mean what are the odds that out of everyone here we ran in to k-pop fans?

No, it just had to be a coincidence.

However, once I accidentally locked eyes with the shorter one and they immediately scurried away I knew they were aimed at us.

This wasn’t good.

_________________________________________________

“Tae its fine. We expected a few people to recognize us, remember?”

I nodded. That was true.

Even before we left Tiffany said that there would be at least one person that recognized us today. I just didn’t think it would happen so soon.

“I know, but still Fany-ah… I’m sorry we can’t even have one day in peace; even in America.” She wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled herself closer to me.

“It’s not a big deal Taetae. Besides, yesterday was peaceful.” I sighed.

“That’s because we stayed at your aunts house all day pabo~.” She giggled, which made me feel a bit better, but I was still disappointed.

Was one day out too much to ask for?

“Now,” she started firmly, pulling me out of my thoughts. “You still have a bag and a half to fill up Kim Taetae. Want me to help?” I happily nodded. “Aye~ there’s the smile I wanna see,” she said before squeezing me a little.

“Mmm,” I hummed. “If I keep smiling like this will you keep holding on to me like this then?” She hummed.

“Of course. I won’t leave your side the rest of the day~!”

“Promise?”

“Promise,” she confirmed with a smile. “Just pretend that no one is taking our picture Taeyeon. We’re not doing anything wrong.  We haven’t even kissed that many times…” I saw her pout and instantly felt bad.

She was right. Today was supposed to be full of fun and hugs and kisses from Tiffany. Why should I care if people see us?

We were dating… no scratch that. We were engaged and getting married in less than a month. What did people think we did in our spare time, just sit and look at each other?

Uh…

Well, okay… sometimes I did find myself staring at Tiffany, BUT that was different… everyone stares at Tiffany.

Today was supposed to be amazing though! I needed to make up for being so lame yesterday too. I mean this was going to probably be the last time we both had time off until our wedding.

Hell probably even after our wedding too! I guess in a way this was kind of a pre-honeymoon since we wouldn’t be getting a real one for a few months…

Aish. That was it.

Forget the cameras! Forget the people that were potentially watching us; today it was going to be all about Tiffany and I.

I wasn’t going to let anything stop that either. Let them take pictures! We had nothing to hide.

Tiffany repositioned her arm that was around my waist, and for some reason her movement sent a funny warm and fuzzy feeling flying throughout me.

Aigo~, there it was again… Just like earlier when she laid her head on my shoulder in the restaurant.

I honestly don’t know how she still made me feel as bubbly and nervous as our first month together, but I didn’t mind it at all.

This feeling was the best, especially now. Even though I was still as happy and anxious as the first month, I was nowhere near as apprehensive.

I put one hand behind her neck and pressed my lips against hers. I could feel her smile in to the kiss and that drove me even crazier than her lips were already doing.

After a few seconds however, she pushed me away.

“Uhhnn,” I whined.

“Tae~ there are children here,” she said softly… in Korean.

It didn’t make sense, but it was still adorable. I grinned.

“They’ll have to learn to do this one day or another,” I said playfully. She pushed me further away and somehow pulled together a straight face.

“Not today Kim Taeyeon. No more long kisses. Only short cute ones… You’re already drawing enough attention.”

Oh my gosh.

“Me?!” She nodded while wearing a cute smirk. “You’re the one that everyone keeps looking at Fany-ah. Jeesh, why do you have to be so pretty,” I teased as I pretended to look over the candy in front of us.

Out of the corner of my eye though I saw her full, beautiful smile spread across her face. Aigo~!

“See what I mean? That’s what’s drawing them in,” I laughed. “If I can’t kiss you, you’re not allowed to smile.” She laughed.

“Oh shut up and pick out your candy Kim Taeyeon… We still have a ton of stores to go in to.”

“Jinjja?” She hummed again. “I wanna find a toy store an-.”

“Too bad,” she shot out quickly. I looked at her in shock and she just laughed even harder. “It’s my turn to pick a place since you picked candy first Tae. Don’t look at me like that.”

She had a point… and she wasn’t kidding about the ‘ton of stores’ we had to go in either.

Seriously, we spent the next few hours looking in different stores with her cousin and friends.

None of which were toy stores either…

This place didn’t even have one! Ugh, I couldn’t believe it…

I also couldn’t believe that Tiffany was shopping for a new outfit to put on right now either.

“Fany-ah, your dress looks fine babe. You don’t need to change,” I said for like the eighth time.

She really did look great in it too so I didn’t understand why she needed to change. I told her she could just put on the cardigan she brought and be done, but since it was Tiffany, I knew that wouldn’t be happening.

“Uhn-uh,” she groaned. “I want to wear jeans. A dress at a fair wouldn’t look right Tae.”

Uhmm…

“Why not? I bet you someone will be wearing a dress once we get there,” I said in hopes to change her mind.

“Well it won’t be me. It’s not the right atmosphere for a dress… Now which color? Blue or black?”

Aish. She was crazy. I looked at the two pairs of jeans she was holding up anyway.

“Black.” She smiled and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek.

“Thank you baby. Now I just have to find a shirt.” She walked off into another part of the store and I almost said to just wear one of the five she had already bought today, but I figured she must have thought they ‘weren’t right for the atmosphere’ either…

What have I signed up for?

___________________________________________________________

When we got closer to the fair I nudged Taeyeon. He was busy talking to my sister about his mom, who she would be spending a couple weeks alone with in our house here soon. While it was pretty cute to see him happily talking about his family, he had to see this. This fair was at least a hundred times better than the one we visited last year.

That was just a tiny local carnival, while this one was huge.

I nudged him again.

“Don’t worry noona, she’ll love you… What are you doing to me Fa- oh… my god.” His eyes widened and his jaw dropped as he moved over top of me to look out the window. “We have to ride that!”

I wasn’t sure if he was pointing at the huge Ferris wheel or the crazy looking thing that was spinning everywhere, but I didn’t care. This was going to be an amazing night, maybe even better than today was…

Okay, probably not. Today was great.

I got to spend time with Taeyeon, my sister, and my cousin all while shopping. I even helped Taeyeon pick out a few new shirts that he looked fantastic in. Ugh, it was even better when he tried to help me.

Oh god, I’m getting butterflies from just thinking about earlier when he held up a pink colored shirt and told me that I look really good in this color. The best part was that he wasn’t even trying to be sweet or cute or anything! I honestly think he was just trying to be helpful by picking out something that I looked good in.

Ugh, it just made everything so much more adorable… and of course I bought the shirt without any hesitation. I almost wore it tonight, but it wouldn’t have gone with the rest of my outfit at all.

Actually I kinda hoped tonight would be better than earlier now that I think about. I don’t think Taeyeon had as much fun as the rest of us did. He didn’t hate it, but I could tell he was a little bored an hour or so after we started shopping.

I guess I’ll just have to make up for it tonight~!

We paid for our tickets and walked in to the gates. Taeyeon held my hand tightly as he quickened his pace, pulling me along.

“Taetae slow down,” I laughed. “The girls haven’t even made it past the gate yet.” He stopped and grinned, showing off his perfectly uneven smile.

“Sorry~, I’m just excited to go look at everything.” I laughed and took his other hand in mine.

“Don’t be sorry pabo~, we just need to wait and see what they want to do too.” He nodded and pulled me in close against his body. Oh god. “I love you Taetae.”

“Ugh,” he groaned loudly.

Wait a second… What? Why would he-

“I was going to say that first~!” His lips pressed to my forehead. “I love you too Fany, Fany, Tiffany!”

Aigo, he even did cute little hand motions with it… He was unbelievable.

“I haven’t seen that in a while,” I heard my sister laugh from behind me. “That was how she used to introduce herself… on TV.” I turned to see my cousin and her friends all now laughing.

Great, they saw it too. Ugh.

“Whatever… what do you guys want to do first? Ride rides, eat, play games, wa-“

“Oh! What kind of games do they have,” Taeyeon asked excitedly.

“They have them all babe. What do you guys think,” I asked after skillfully switching back and forth between languages.

I couldn’t tell who voted for what, but food was the final choice and I was okay with that. I was starving. Besides breakfast and candy I don’t think I’ve eaten much else. Taeyeon hadn’t either because I made him go to Forever 21 with me while the others went to eat…

Sorry Tae~!

“What do you want to eat boo?” I wrapped my arm in his and watched his smile grow.

“I don’t care, whatever is good here.” I laughed.

“It’s all good Taeyeon.” I heard him chuckle.

“Okay then, hmm~,” he held out. “Omo, what about that?” I followed his finger to the booth he was pointing at and- Oh my god.

“That?” He hummed. “Seriously?” He hummed even louder.

“It looks yummy… Why? Do you not want it?” I shook my head as I looked at the huge turkey legs he had his eye on… and I really do mean huge. Those things were bigger than my face!

“No, that’s fine… it’s just that I don’t think I can eat all of that… Do you wanna share one?” He grinned from eye to eye.

“I already figured we would Fany.” I laughed. Oh good. Whew…

“Well you should have mentioned that in the first place,” I said with a nudge. “I thought you expected me to eat one by myself.” He laughed and wrapped an arm around my shoulder.

“That would be crazy babe. I don’t think Soo could even eat a whole one… Okay, he probably could, but still.” I laughed, but even the two of us couldn’t finish it.

Thanks to my sister though, the three of us were able to finish it… finally.

It took us the longest to finish for sure.

Our group then started to head deeper into the fair so we could check everything else out. We actually only walked for another minute or so before someone wanted to stop again.

While we stood in line to wait for one of Kristine’s friends to get a cup of lemonade, I noticed Taeyeon practically drooling while staring one of the games nearby. I smiled.

“You wanna play that?” He looked at me like he had been caught checking out another woman. “That game. Do you want to play it?”

His eyes grew and he hummed as he excitedly nodded. Oh my god it was the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen.

His eye smile was showing along with his tiny chin dimple that I personally thought was the cutest thing in the world and- Ugh!

Why was he so adorable?

“Hey, we’re gonna go play that game really quick,” I said to the group.

“Oh, I’ll come with you Tiff,” my sister said. I nodded and soon the three of us were standing in front of the booth.

“How do you do win?”

“Tae, you just have to use the gun and shoot that star completely out of the little piece of paper down there,” I explained as I pointed about ten feet away. He nodded.

“And what do I get if I win? Oh my god do I get that,” he pointed to a four foot tall stuffed dog and I just laughed.

“Babe, this is a hard game. Let’s see if you can do it first.” He grinned again.

Gah, he was seriously like a little kid.

I paid the worker and Taeyeon picked up the black gun without hesitation. He cutely bent down and aimed at the little piece of paper. He slightly pulled the trigger and-

“Wahhahah~,” he laughed after shooting it barely, causing my sister and I to both laugh as well. Oh my god. “This is crazy,” he said while adorably smiling back at us.

“Oh wow,” my sister said once Taeyeon turned his attention back to the game. “He’s adorable Tiff.”

“I know,” I said confidently. He was.

He was also now shooting the star out of the center really well, holy …

I took a few steps forward so that I could get a better view. He held the trigger down and I was seriously impressed.

CLICK

The gun ran out of ammo and he stood up straight. Holy…

“Tae that was really good~!”

“Wah~ it looks like I did it, right?” I nodded.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody win this in all the times I’ve been to a fair. Oh my god…

“Hey can you check his,” I quickly asked the worker that was close. The older man nodded and went to Taeyeon’s now holey white card. Bringing the card closer in, it really looked like he did it!

That was seriously amazing, but also… where in the hell were we going to fit a four foot tall stuffed dog at on the way home? There was seriously no-

“Ah, sorry buddy. There’s a bit of the star left right here,” the man said and pointed to a tiny speck at the bottom of the card.

“Ahhh~! What the heck~,” Taeyeon whined adorably. I just laughed and quickly thanked the man, who gave Tae a weird look after his whine.

“Look Michelle,” I held up the paper so she could see. “He missed this tiny bit so he couldn’t win.”

“Wow, that’s stupid. That’s really close too, Taeyeon.” He laughed.

“Daebak~… I can’t believe I missed it by that much… Can I try again?” I smiled.

“Of course babe. You were so close.”

I paid the worker again, because Taeyeon didn’t want to have to speak English, and he picked up the gun a second time. This time however he went slower and I even tried to help him a bit by telling him which side needed to be shot more.

I heard the click of the gun signaling that he was out of bullets and started to worry again. It looked like he won again, but that’s also what happened last time!

“I did it, right?” His smile was incredible as I took a step closer.

“I hope you did… I’m a bit unsure about the left side though,” I said honestly.

“Ahh~,” he called out like he was in distress. “This is so nerve-wracking~!”

“You’re really good though Tae,” I complimented as I ran my hand up and down his back. “I’m very impressed.”

He smiled, until the man had crushed his hopes once again by telling us that he didn’t get it that is.

Taeyeon sighed and I just laughed.

“Let’s go find the girls and play another game Taetae. I’m sure you’ll win the next one.”

“Yeah that was really good Taeyeon-ah,” my sister complimented.

“Thanks noona~,” he said with a nod. We walked away hand in hand and quickly found the girls not far from where we left them. Our tiny group then continued deeper into the fair to find more games for us to all play.

I was still really surprised with the last one though. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone get that close!

“Ooh what’s that game,” he asked excitedly. I looked to the crowded booth.

“You shoot water guns at a target and whoever hits it the most, wins,” I explained briefly. He sighed.

“Ehh, let’s find something else… I’m done with guns.” I grinned. He was so cute.

“Okay~ no guns. Let’s find something else,” I said in English.

I’ve been speaking I’ve been speaking in English most of the time actually. Taeyeon just replies to me in Korean since it’s easier for him.

I think Kristine was kind of like that too, just the opposite. She seemed to catch a lot of what Taeyeon was saying, but she just didn’t know how to reply back in Korean.

I don’t know, that’s what it felt like to me at least. I was just glad they could all communicate better this time around.

“How about that one Tiff,” Kristine asked. “You have to throw baseballs and break plates.”

Ooh, that did sound like something he would want to do…

I looked up to see he was already staring at me with a smile. Aigo~!

“You wanna play that?” He nodded. “Okay! Let’s play that one.”

“I’ll play it too,” Kristine said. “I’ve never played it before.”

“Oh, Fany-ah you play too!”

“Yeah Tiff it’ll be fun!” I looked around and saw that my sister was also looking at me with a wide smile.

“Ugh,” I sighed. “Fine. I’ll play too.”

“Woo~,” Taeyeon cheered. I wrapped my arm in his and we started walking toward the booth.

“Excuse me Taeyeon?”

What the?

I looked to my left and froze.

Oh god…

Over the past hour or so that we had been here I started to notice us getting more and more looks than usual, but since no one was approaching, yelling, or even waving, it seemed fine to me, especially since Taeyeon was oblivious. I knew he wouldn’t like it if a bunch of people started to follow us around.

I figured everyone who did see us thought something like ‘oh no that can’t be them’ or ‘why would they be here of all places’…

I never thought they would approach us…

Ugh, here they were however. Three teenage girls. Thankfully though we were able to get rid of them fairly quick by telling them exactly what our managers said to us.

It’s not that I didn’t want to talk to them, because talking to fans was something I loved, but the whole three loud girls fawning all over Taeyeon when we were trying to stay hidden was a bit of a mood killer, especially when we didn’t have managers or staff here to protect us.

“We’re actually not allowed to take pictures right now because our managers aren’t here,” I explained. I watched their faces drop and felt bad. “I know it’s a stupid rule, I’m really sorry.”

I actually don’t even know why that was a rule in the first place… It seemed pretty stupid to me. Why couldn’t we take pictures? Now that we didn’t , wouldn’t it only give them more of a reason to take our picture when we were doing something worse like hugging or kissing?

Ugh, stupid SM.

However, I did not want to make any of the management angry.

Our wedding was coming up and I didn’t want to give them any reason to be jerks and schedule us something right afterward.

I tried to be as nice as I could and I was just really glad when the three girls seem to be understanding.

“Have a nice night at the fair,” the tallest one called out before leaving.

“Thank you! You too,” I said with a smile.

Our fans really were the best.

“Waaah~,” I screamed as Tiffany’s baseball broke through the plate on her third try. She turned around with a big smile on her face and practically jumped in to my arms. I kissed the side of her head and wrapped my arms even tighter around her tiny body. “Good job babe!”

We released from the hug and the man working at the booth gave me yet another dirty look. Ugh.

This ahjussi had been practically flirting with her and Kristine the whole time we were here though. Kristine’s friends too, but it was especially Tiffany and her cousin!  Staring, joking around with them, checking her out multiple times…

He even teased Kristine when she wasn’t able to break the plate.

UGH. Next time I’ll throw the baseball right at his-

“Tae~! I did it!”

I took a look at her beaming smile and immediately felt all the stress leave my body.

“I know babe,” I put my arm around her back.

Take that jerk!

“You busted the one right beside mine too!” She giggled and then wrapped her arm around me as well.

Ah~ this felt so good.

It felt even better when the ahjussi behind the counter handed me my prize for breaking all three of the plates I needed to. Tiffany and Kristine unfortunately did not break all of theirs.

While I’m surprised he didn’t give them the whole truckload anyway, I was very glad as well. Now I could give my toy to her!

I’ve seen the guy do this for the girl in at least three of those horrible movies she has made me watch with her, so I’m assuming it was some kind of hint…

Whether it was or not, oh well. Either way the adorably embarrassed look on her face right now was totally worth it.

“Thank you Taetae~,” she said while the rest of our group awed. She held the stuffed purple monkey tightly before wrapping her arm in mine. “Let’s go to the next place.” I nodded, but then I could feel my happy smile turn into a frown.

Once I turned around to start walking away I could see that the small crowd that had been following us grew. Aish...

“Fany-ah stay close to me, okay?” She hummed and I repositioned my arm so she could get a better hold on me. I didn’t want the people that were following us to get too close to us.

As we continued to walk however, the staring didn’t stop. I think it was even worse now that we had like fifteen to twenty people following us around. They weren’t doing anything but following us and probably taking pictures, but it was still an inconvenience. Not only for us, but for everyone else at the fair who didn’t give a crap about us being here.

The small crowd was getting in everyone’s way.

One of Kristine’s friends stopped at a booth to buy a shirt with some American celebrity’s face on it, I don’t know, I didn’t really pay attention.

I was too busy focusing on the crowd staring at us… omo, and the booth across the way. Oh my gosh! That looked like so much fun.

We had to stop there.

“Maybe Taeyeon and I should go wait in the car,” Tiffany said once the girl got her shirt. “You guys could all walk around more that way.”

Oh no!

“We can’t!” Everyone’s eye’s turned to me. Uh-oh… “I wanna stop one more place before we leave,” I explained.

“Tae we’re causing a huge scene though,” Tiffany started, but I had to stop her right there.

“The place is right over there,” I pointed at the booth, but before she could get a good look I grabbed the monkey out of her hand and pulled her with me.

I walked pretty much straight through the group of people watching us and headed right toward the booth. Tiffany repositioned her arm and then tried to stop and call for her cousin, but I wouldn’t let her.

First I had to get her through the crowd.

“You wanted to top here?” I looked up at the large sign that read ‘Face Painting’ and couldn’t believe it. He hummed as he scanned the display pictures of options he could get painted on himself. “Seriously?”

“Why? It’ll be fun,” he grinned. “Then we can leave.”

“Yeah, they were talking about leaving too. Something about Kourtney’s shoes giving her a blister,” I heard my sister, who had caught up already, explain. I nodded.

That did make me feel a little better knowing we weren’t the whole reason we had to leave, but still. This .

“Should I get this one?” I looked to where Taeyeon was pointing and-

“Absolutely not,” I said firmly. He was not getting a gross looking mustache and dark curly eyebrows painted on his precious face. “Pick something cute.”

“But they’re all cute babe~!”

“Well then just pick whatever you want… besides that one,” I added. I knew he would get it just to annoy me if I didn’t. “If we both get something cute I’ll upload a picture of us to Instagram… Deal?” His eyes widened.

“Jinjja?” I nodded. I knew he loved when I put pictures of us on there. He told me it was like giving one big ‘HAHA’ to the world.

It was something about showing them that I’m his or something…

He was ridiculous… and way too adorable for his own good.

Now with the added motivation, he might choose something actually cute though. I hoped so at least.

“Tiff are you getting your face painted?” I turned my attention to my cousin and nodded.

“Are you?”

“I don’t know! What should I get?”

Oh wow, that was a good question. I had no idea what I should get either.

“Hold on Tae, I’m gonna help Kris.” He hummed and pointed another one out to my sister.

“How about this one,” he asked again. Ugh, at least Michelle also had sense about these kind of things.

I looked through all the pictures along with my cousin and her friends and had finally narrowed it down to two choices.

“What are you doing Kris,” I asked curiously.

“I think I want the kitty face or the butterfly… What about you?” I laughed.

“I want either the flower or the butterfly. We really are related,” I joked. “I’ll ask Taeyeon to see what he thinks. Tae,” I called out to the empty spot he just was…

What the?

I frantically looked around, but thankfully noticed my sister standing up and Taeyeon sitting in front of the face painting lady.

Whew~! Did I really take that long to decide? Wow… I thought I had just lost him like last ti-

Oh hold up. He was already in the chair?!

“Tae you already started,” I asked while taking a few steps closer. “What did you-“

Oh my god.

“Yah! That’s too much~!” I watched him laugh slightly before turning so the woman could finish painting. “Yah, you let him pick that one,” I said to my sister.

“Why? It looks good!” I guess she was right… It didn’t look bad, but it still covered half of his face, whatever ‘it’ was.

“What is that?”

“It’s supposed to be a dolphin, but Taeyeon asked if I could ask if she could make it more like a shark… I don’t think it’s working,” she laughed.

I didn’t either, especially with the cute little ‘splashes’ of water speckled on his cheek and chin.

The lady soon finished and Taeyeon cheered once he looked in the hand held mirror she held up.

“Thank you~!” He stood up and I couldn’t believe it. “Wah~,” he cheered again as he looked in to the larger mirror they had set up. “I really like it Fany-ah~!”

“Really,” I asked. He hummed.

“It’s a skinny shark,” he laughed.

“That’s a dolphin,” I corrected. He glared.

“No it isn’t.” I laughed.

“Yes it is Taetae. It’s cute though, so good choice.” Right! My choices. “Oh Taeyeon-ah! Should I get a butterfly or a flower?”

“Hmm, flower~,” he said adorably in English. “Ani! You should do the Minnie one. Do Minnie!”

Minnie? What did the Minnie one look like aga- Oh god. I remembered the huge bow that was painted on the forehead and gave that one a strong ‘no.’

“That’s so crazy though!”

“Why? It’s pretty,” he laughed.

“Nope! I’ll just go with the flower.”

“Suit yourself~,” he sang. “Maybe I should have gotten Minnie…”

“Taeyeon~ I can’t believe you didn’t open your eyes.”

Once we got into the car, I pulled out my phone and looked at the picture my sister took of us with our newly painted faces.

“I did though Fany-ah, look,” he pointed to his one half open eye. Aigo~.

“You could have waited until we both had our eyes open Michelle, jeesh.”

“It’s not my fault your boyfriend blinked,” she snapped back. “There were a bunch of people and either way, it still looks good so you’re welcome~!”

I wanted to say something back, but she was right. Even with Taeyeon’s half open eyes and weird smirk we looked cute.

I couldn’t say anything about the gathered crowd either since that was also my fault…

“It looks like I’m wearing really heavy eye makeup,” Taeyeon laughed. Huh? Did it?

I looked at the picture one more time and oh my god… It totally did. I laughed aloud.

I’m not sure if it was the motion from him blinking or the weird lighting, but it totally looked like he had on way more eye makeup than I was wearing…

“It’s really cute though Taeyeon~,” I cooed. His arm came around my shoulder.

“Good. Now upload it to Instagram.” I grinned.

“You know this is gonna be a hot topic tomorrow morning, right?” He shrugged.

“It shouldn’t be too bad… Right?”

“I don’t know Tae,” I said as I opened up the app.

I wrote out a quick caption and uploaded it without a fun filter.

“We’ll see.”
